[NAMM] Arturia unleashes BeatStep Pro

A year after the release of the first version, the BeatStep has been reworked from scratch and is now available in Pro version for use both in studio and on stage.

The BeatStep Pro can work with any MIDI, USB, CV/Gate or DIN Sync-equipped device. The clock can be controlled from an external clock generator or DIN Sync.

You’ll find on the device 16 touch-sensitive knobs for pitch, gate, velocity and step time jumps. 2 independent monophonic 64-step sequencers are built-in with different color codes, separate displays for current playback position and sequence bank length. Each project can host up to 16 sequences and the device can store 16 projects.

Each sequence has its own 1V/Oct CV and 10V Gate outputs and a Velocity output open the way to the modular world.

An additional drum sequencer allows for sequencing up to 16 separate tracks, record with real time quantizer via the 16 pressure sensitive pads or the 16 step buttons. 8 Drum Gates allow for triggering external devices via the gate output of each respective pad.

The pads can also control the pitch transpose and access various musical scales (chromatic, major, minor, dorian, mixolydian, harmonic minor, blues or custom) when using sequencers 1 and 2.

The controller section on the BeatStep Pro allows for triggering clips in your DAW, play drum sounds from an external module or adjust plug-in parameters.

Arturia added performance tools such as a Roller/Looper strip, Probability, Randomness and Swing settings.
