Vibrato: Yes, a Bigsby (70's style)
Bridge: Standard, I believe
Frets: 22, with mother of pearl inlays (rectangular) to 1,3,5,7,9,12,15,17,19,21 frets. Bne button seems, glue on the handle.
Body: I have not pierce or plane to see, DSOL: p Actually this CHARACTERISTICS trs I care little, as the sound is l. There are of course the double-cut, giving the "horns" of SG SPECIFICATIONS.
Pickups: Two double-coil Hambucker, I could not say prcisment The models, but must be the same as the current (see other reviews)
Channel: Profile in C, or D, W not in any case: p In my opinion you it mahogany
Rglages: Two volumes (the two knobs on the left when it was against the guitar itself) and two tones (the two knobs on the right), one each for each microphone, and of course a micro three slecteur positions (Bridge: not "Treble" / Intermdiaire: Mix the two / Neck: not "Rhythm")
Pickguard (protective plate): Half pickguard
Head: Biggest head in the 70's
Belt clip: I have not the guitar for a long time ok, but I have not yet felt the absolute ncssit to put straplocks, you just have not agitated like a barbarian. The attachment deuxime kouroi is derrire heel.
Varnish: I believe nitrocellulose, fragile it seems, if everyone said that must be true
Overall Rating: 10, of good quality matrial, all that is original for 30 years is like new. Anything.
UTILIZATION
It falls into the strong point of the SG over a Les Paul and even (AC only my opinion) a Strato: The jouabilit!
The handle is exceptional (it's not the best SG in speed, the best is the '61 Rissue if I am using the ones I tried but still on a Standard ca excellent we mean well): The Channel-body connection is the 17-18th fret so much that almost nothing is blocking one rises in the treble. The heel begins to take shape under the collar 16-17 (13-14 against a Start): a real bar between the fingers, Access in acute is SU-PER-BE, I never jou a guitar as fast (except the '61 SG Rissue, but that's another story). The problem that I have known beginners on the other hand is that it is a bit "lost" without repre point, we tend to play on the 15th instead of 12th, but well you get used to fast all of the same.
This is in d trs largely mimics the form-but-never-gale of SG, these horns are wonderful, they do not block the hand, if in dplacement to the right, neither toitet once you are "inside". The heel on her t tudi much better than on a Strato (I RPET but everyone knows what it is, and I rarely essay from Les Paul than Strato ), I can do without problem on the 22nd fret bends without worry. As for her, I think it is a Les Paul or equivalent lgrement better, but considering the price diffrence and since you get all the same very easy with a good sound an SG Standard, that can rev well into the comparison with the Les Paul. Indeed, no need to call for a Crsus trs good sound once you SG: I have a Custom Fender Frontman 15R, and a Planet Waves Cable (excellent, by the way) and it sounds perfectly fine, even with a gain 3 or 4 trs ca gives a good sound effortless.
I can just NOT put anything other than 10
SOUNDS
Playing Rock, Blues-Rock and Hard Rock, sometimes with the Blues, this guitar is sized for me. The sounds she dlivre are fabulous. Clearly, the guitar did not blush, it is trs good: the sound is warm, lively and prcis (not as prcis on a Start when same). The neck pickup is good for the trs blues or rhythm in gnral, it sounds full trs for serious and a little "indoor" in the treble. Treble on the microphone allows Submitted least serious, and more acute perants, ideal for a solo so angry. So we go to a powerful solo a solid rhythm with a single hand on the micro slecteur.
The sound I prfre is the sound lgrement saturated (gain 3 or 4), that I like least (because I do not dtest) is the its too saturated (above 8 for gain), because both the '61 SG Rissue prcise enough to afford it, both the Standard loses clarity this level of saturation and we fall in boiling -incomprhensible, I specially do not like, except for strange effects.
I do not put "only" 9 because I love the sound of this guitar, but it can not do or sound or ultra-clean ultra-distorted sound (I'm not even that sr what a guitar can do, but I can not put dcemment 10)
OVERALL OPINION
I have this guitar for a few weeks, buy OCCAZ of an individual who had since '76.
What I like most is its sound gnrale, good quality of stuff and especially his jouabilit all for one of the most affordable prices of quality guitars from Gibson. What I like least is that you possder a Start to get good sound ultra-clean, which many (including me now that I took a Rissue) can not have, but I got good reason: D.
I had a Squier Stratocaster for beginners, there is a little over a year. Not long ago, my salary does my pennies for my reus tray with honors, and my personal SAVINGS, I told myself that I could make a big pleasure with a new guitar of quality. At first I thought a Les Paul, I had the budget. So I rflchi for a Les Paul, but too heavy, too encombrate to go to the treble, etc ... Not what I needed. APRS, as I had a Strato entry, I said, Strato better bill. So I tried a Strato and the same day a SG Standard in 1972. Et .. I made my choice) I even, APRS, with the remaining budget from the original, bought a '61 so I LOVE rissue of this sound ( diffrent are, I'm not a fan of the SG: D).
So I had an SG for half of a Les Paul or SG More precisely two for the price of a Les Paul, and believe me these guitars are not half as good DEFINITIONS, The report also qualitprix seems excellent, if they can drop like me in business. Stay patient and jump on opportunities, the dollar was never as low t and it will not last, the new guitars are probably the cheapest of the decade to come, and those of OCCAZ 70 'are ctes little at the moment but it will come.
With exprience, I would do this choice? Hmmm good question. I think so.
