I listen to rock and this little amp for me but not all the time it is good for transport or the sound is not great I play it with a crafter cruiser ls750cs and zoom effects pedal Multi g1next

OVERALL OPINION

I have 4 years it is very convenient to transport it is super light but otherwise not very competent in sound

I have been a muso for a little over 20 years. I started playing drums in high school, which lead to playing in a band. I found drums a lot of work with setting up for practice at home, pack up and load them in the car for practice with the band, pack em and take em home to do more practice, pack em and load em up for gigs etc etc, so when I got a job involving shift work, it all got too hard, and I stopped playing drums. But I couldn't give up alltogether, so one day it was down to the music store and bought a bass guitar. I knew nothing about bass, and I bought a black one just because it was black. It turned out to be a Profile Silouette, a very good P Bass copy, and it has served me very well. A couple of years ago I picked up a Rickenbacker 4004L (review to follow soon...) and I am currently playing bass in a band. I have picked up a couple of 6 strings (elect and accoustic) along the way, but bass is my thing these days.

I picked up this amp off ebay for AU$40. I was looking for a little amp for my 6 strings, and my kids are getting old enough to start guitar lessons, so I was also after something small and cheap for them to use as well.

It's small and very light. It's loud enough for practice and making a racket in the bedroom, but not loud enough to lift the roof or upset the nieghbors. It also has a headphone jack for those times when you can't make any noise at all. It has 3 knobs: gain, contour and volume, and a boost button. I was pleasantly suprised by the clean sound. It's very clean. It sounds very nice with an acoustic, maybe a bit trebley through the small speaker, but thats easily fixed if you have an eq on your guitar, or by fidling with the countour knob-a kind of midrange eq. Hit the boost button and turn up the gain and you're in heavy metal heaven. The kids will love it! I first thought it sounded kind of trashy, but it's realy growing on me now. Turn the boost off, and crank up the gain and you get a very nice 'crunchy' sound with your electric guitar. Just by mucking around with the gain and contour (with or without the boost), you're bound to find a sound that suits.

It's pretty hissy with the boost button on and the gain turned up. But then again, hit that first power chord, and you can't hear the hiss any more! And to be fair, it's very quiet when playing clean.

It seems to be well made. It's very light, but I treat my gear with respect, so I can't see any problems in the construction area.

If you don't want to front a band with this amp, it's great. It's small, portable, and a great sound for what it is. Plenty loud enough for the bedroom Eddie Van Halen, yet nice and clean and quiet if that's what you're after. You want to play in a band, buy a bigger amp. Want a good cheap practice amp for you or the kids, buy this one.

I was going to buy a an MG15CD but I didn't realise how much they cost so I bought a MG10CD instead which I wasn't too happy about because it is only 10 watt and is small and dosn't have many controls. I paid £55 but the RRP is £60.

It looks really cool and is perfect for a practise amp and dosn't shake the whole house as much as other amps. The distortion is great and the tone isn't bad neither. The CD input is a nice touch aswell.

I would prefure it to have more controls and it is good clean but not as good as when its on overdrive. But for the price you can't really complain.

It is a real tough well built little amp it looks like it could take some travelling and still work perfect.

If your looking for an amp just for practising in your bedroom etc for a low price its perfect and I don't think any other amps are better at the price. I would guess it is better for rock and metal but would probably be fine for all other types aswell but you might want a few pedals to go with it.

I Bought this amp at Hermes Music for $60. I was going to buy a Larger (more expensive) Dean amp until someone showed me this amp and told it would probably be the best sounding practice amp I've heard.

For a built in distortioner it sounds great. And is very simple to use. The clean tones don't sound bad either. It's Great for just playin with other guitars.

It's not quite loud enough to play with a drum set. The clean tones aren't near as loud as the distorted ones.

The quality is great. I Got as a Floor model and it still plays as if it were brand new.

It's a great amp for it's price and does fine when playing with other guitars but if you're trying to start a band this amp isn't quite powerful enough.

i brought it at a pawn shop for $50. this is the only model i have ever seen, so i dont know if it it was a ggod buy

The contour control lets you compress your sound almost as much as you can possible go. It gives it a good metal sound turned about 1/3rd of the way up. Its also got a good sturdy frame. I droppes it from six feet oonce onto wood and i only put a tiny scratch on it.

the gain is a tiny bit scratchy. not clar enough

I bought this amp at a small music store called music maniake. It was my first amp and i thought it look like a good deal for only 70 bucks.

Theres not much to like really the clean channels is the best thing on the amp but even that sounds like crap.Well it is pretty loud for 10 watts to.

The over dirve on this amp cant be any worse.The othere things is the tone is so sharp when i play my little e string on the 10th fret my dog starts to cry!! no joke the sound is tarrable.

the guality of the amps is asume.

well if u just starting out it is what u wont but dont try to jam with other amps that are bigger because it suckes.

I bought this great amp new at guitar center for 80$ on sale, because my cheap danelectro dirty thiry amp crapped out on me.

I think this a perfect practice amp, and good for a small gig. I am 12 and have a great mexican fender ( not squire) stratocaster, and they are a perfect match! unlike my cheap danelectro this amp has great distortion that is easy to switch from clean like, a pedal, fat tone, incredible sound for its cheap price, great that you can rig up to youre stero for practice, you can use head phones for late night practices, light weigt, and great quality. This amp is great for almost every style of music! Its grea for 60's, and 70's licks ( great for zeppelin, hendrix, the doors, etc). 90's grunge, jazz, blues everything!!!!!!!

A couple things I didn't like about the marshall was that it should be a little cheaper because it is only a 10 watt and the 15 watt is around 60$ more. thats pretty much what I dislike about the amp, but I do admitt it could use a couple more touches, nuthhing big but still.

It's a pretty tughf amp it got a black what ever the hell matriel is made out of, good for its price, fake gole top where the knobs are, classic marshall mini cabnit look.

Its a great amp! cheap price for such a great amp, good beginers, or 2nd amp. great sound, great quality! I deffinetly suggest tryin out and then buyin the marshall mg10cd combo amp!

I bought this amp at Guitar Center for $70.

It's finally good to see a small amp with big Marshall tone. I have always been a fan of Marshall amps, but I have had to settle for a little Fender Frontman with a Marshall Guv'nor distortion pedal for too long. My little Marshall is a lot louder than my Frontman 15, and it has better tone. Oh, did I mention that it was cheaper?

Well, one thing that I would really like to see on this little amp is more tone knobs. It's hard to get the best sound I can out of just one tone knob. However, that's not a really bad setback.

Superb! My cat knocked this thing off my desk on multiple occasions, scratched it up, and even pissed on it. It still sounds like it was made yesterday.

This amp is perfect for any artist who is looking for a good studio amp, or simply a learner with his first "pawnshop special" electric. I have a strat copy that was messed up by a repairman, and even it sounds like a million bucks through my little Marshall. Step 2--getting my hands on an AVT-150 stack...

I paid nothing for this amp but i think it costs about £50-£70 (anything more than this and it's not worth it)

The amp is light(always good), its a legendary MARSHALL and its nice and easy to use with just 3 nobs (Gain ,treble and volume).

It dosn't have much punch (but what 10watt amps does) and can't handle gigs. The choices of sound are limited and it does buzz a bit.

It deffently has marshall quility and is worth the money in this aspect. It has an open back and is quite small. The power lead is far to short but most practice amps are like this so its no biggy! Its never had any problems and nothing has fallen off or broke


This amp is great for someone who is starting the guitar or someone who just wants a practice amp. It looks good (for an amp), plays well enough and has never failed me. All my mates amps are rubbish compared to this so go for this you cant go wrong.

Bought it at Sam Ash and paid $70

Its great because the sound clear and clean. The overdrive channel offers a nice distortion as well and you can plug in headphones or another audio source to play along with which is cool for practice. Its small and lightweight so I'm not bogged down if i take it places but it doesnt look or feel cheap.

Another input for a second guitar would be nice but other than that, its pretty tight.

Great quality. Like I mentioned before it doesnt feel cheap. Hard molded plastic case, vinyl/leather strap looks like its more expensive bigger bothers.

This is a great little amp to pactice with at home or to play small gigs with. The quality is awesome for the price.

I got this amp for free during a Guitar Center sale when anyone who bought a guitar over $300 got a free Marshall G10MKII. Normally the ideal price for this amp would be about $70. Anything higher than that would be too high a price.

It has a good clean sound at low volumes, the distortion circuit has adequate low end (for 6" speaker) and it is light years better than my friend's old Peavey Backstage 30. I mainly play metal and blues on this amp through a Fender Standard Fat Strat, and it has a pretty good sound for both genres. It should work fine as an inexpensive bedroom or apartment practice amp. It records decently if you want to get a small amp sound (but it does not sound anything like a big amp) It is a very light weight amp that feels like I'm carrying a feather pillow around.

The features are very minimal. It only has three knobs (gain, contour, volume), a headphone jack, boost switch and no line out.
Don't expect it to sound like anything more than 10 watts through a 6" speaker. The boost channel can get very muddy, and the contour control only adjusts the midrange. If you want a clean sound, you can only get a clean tone at solo practice volumes. As you should expect for a 10 watt unit, drums definitely overpower this amp.

It is made out of tolex-coated particle board with standard Marshall controls. The construction is open-back. The power cord is only about 5 feet long, which is not sufficient for many situations. I have carried this amp around many, many times to jam with friends because it is the only guitar amp I currently have, and there have not been any construction problems so far. Of course you wouldn't have to worry about any overheating problems with this little amp.

There is only so much I can say in a 10-watt practice amp review! Overall it is a decent practice amp but don't expect it to work for performing situations. I have used it successfully however in some low volume performances. For jamming with a drummer it is not loud enough. If you want a first practice amp or just want to get an extra lightweight amp to carry around, this amp should be fine.

It's a transistor amp, 10W, nothing extraordinary.
An entry for the guitar, an entry for a headphone, and another for ... for .. in fact I never used the other entrance.
The settings are minimal, there is no classic 3-band EQ. A volume knob for clean, a knob for gain and volume for distortion and tone of a knob for both channels (which are not independent of course).

UTILIZATION

There, it's plug and play. Everything is simple, everything is clear.
To get a good sound, better to change the amp. It is almost unbearable for the ears, it borders otitis.

SOUNDS

This amp suits any style of music. In either case, it would insult the music itself. I do not like any sound on this amp. The sound is due to indscriptible omniprésences of BzzzZZZzzZZZZZzzzZZzz.

OVERALL OPINION

This was my first amp, so it has about 9 years. I had tried any amp before this one (I was 11 years old, I understand that I was not going to jump directly to a Soldano). The only positive is that it is easily transportable, with a weight equal to its quality. I never go back on the range "MG" Marshall. Torture for the ears and ears is invaluable.
