I bought this amp because it only has two 50W amps and 2 HP 12 "separate property.
I use it with a POD2 on new lines effect return on the back. (Left & Right)
On the front I only use the master volume. Anyway I use it as stereo amplifier for the POD.
It is undeniable that the sound is huge and magnified the effects of the POD. More than 12 HP 2 instead of one gives more breadth to the sound and the sound level is important. (This is more than a 100W mono amplifier on a single HP 12 ").
In fact I did not plant POD Stereo Amp + HP + 2 = big sound!
UTILIZATION
Now only the opinion (I do not use it), but I tried the Marshall preamp section:
is correct on the "Clean Channel", but I find the "Overdrive Channel" dégueux. Can not find a gain setting with a slight overdrive as does the POD or Marschall lamp. I can not find a natural compression sound!
The sound with the gain is a kind of nasal distortion, blah!
The effect section in this case is just enough space with a stereo effect that gives a coloration.
SOUNDS
Start with a Dimarzio equipped with the clean channel the sound is fine but limits the tes style clean sounds. The channel saturated again does not suit me.
Anyway I use a POD preamp, there is no problem here for the Blues or the Marshall Brit Brit Hi-Gain
I still POD Stereo Amp + 2x50W + 2 = HP big sound!
OVERALL OPINION
Value for price. But think about investing a Tubescreamer type pedal in use on the clean channel to have a nice full sound.
Otherwise the extent of 2 HP to switch to a noise level more than adequate and very strong!
It is on by putting a preamp in addition to the price the investment is higher.
But in fact for the uninitiated, be aware that the performance of HP and their numbers that are not sound watts. And it is this characteristic that I was looking in my purchase.
