I bought it over the internet. I paid $500.00 for it.

NOTHING. After I traded the unit in for a line 6 spider II 1x12 combo, I have nothing good to say at all about the marshall amp.
I paid two hundred dollars less for the line 6. It's one speaker short of marshall unit. And it can still go louder and stay clean.

The contour knob. Never could get the tone I wanted. If I finally got a heavy crunch out of it, the high end frequencies were far deminished. Even using the trebel toggle on my guitar, I could never find an equilibrium between high and low ends.

the same as any other amp in the 300-1000 dollar price range.

Get yourself a spider II or vetta amp. If you want to spend twice or triple for a solid state amp with the same punch as line 6, then go ahead go out and get a marshall.
