Can't get my mic to make sound

I bought a condensor mic for vocals, which required a phantom box. You connect the mic to the input of the box, and the output cable to the recording system I have (BR-532)..I get no sound out of the mic. Please help or give suggestions. -Thanks.

make sure that you have the mic switched on ( i know i have made that mistake a few times)...make sure the preamp boost or gain, is up, also make sure you have the input on the recorder set to recieve a signal, could that input be muted?
