Joe Satriani and Ibanez associate once again to celebrate two 20th anniversaries at once (that of their partnership and that of Satch's "Surfing with the Alien" album) with a special anniversary model of Satriani's signature guitar.
Wearing the colors of the “Surfing with the Alien” artwork, the JS20S features IBZ Axis pickups, an Edge III tremolo and retails for $1733.32.
A limited edition called the JS20TH will also be released. If this model features DiMarzio PAF Pro (neck) and Fred (bridge) pickups as well as the original Edge locking tremolo, the most striking difference will be even more visible as the Silver Surfer graphic will be three-dimensional, a visual effect obtained through a process reported to require a very time-consuming technique. This limited edition model, only 150 of which will be available in the United States, will be priced $7999.99.
