Steinberg announces that the Software Development Kit for VST 2 plug-ins is not available anymore.
Steinberg now wants to focus exclusively on the VST 3 development and removed the VST2 SDK from its resources. They also add that, though its host DAW will keep on supporting VST 2 plug-ins (for how long?), technical support and maintenance is not officially supported as of September 2013 (see here).
The VST SDK currently available in version 3.6, which allows for Inter-App audio support on Apple iDevices.
