Superlux E523/D

Outside ENG - travel podcasting - I record using a H4n - For travel work the value for money of this microphone is simply incredible. I purchased a shorter cable for (£25) nearly half the price of the Superlux (£55) Both cable and mic were sourced from eBay.

One - Used for recording interviews for my blogs and website. I have no complaints of quality and stereo effect. I have a Beyerdynamic MCE58 which was once my primary ENG microphone. The Supberlux has a 'warmer' sound, although the 58 may have the edge for build quality.
Two - Used as a 'hotel room' recording microphone for podcasting applications. In this instance I had carried a Rode Procaster which is a superb microphone, I no longer see the point of carrying two microphones the Supberlux gives good quality for this application.
Three - There are no con's the price is so low it is impossible to fault it.

This was the best deals I've ever had. The XLR cable is pretty much as you would expect. Clear sound with unnoticeable tone reduction. Feels like good manufacturing. The mic stand is built really well. Very sturdy and stable, even with a heavier mic in it, it doesn't budge. Also very versatile. Can be used on amps, vocals, drums, etc. So now for the real deal... the microphone itself. Honestly, this is by far the best microphone I have ever used. Including some of the more expensive condenser microphones I have purchased. If I had known about this mic beforehand, I wouldn't have wasted my money on my previous ones. The clarity is fantastic and exact. The sound you hear from the microphone is virtually the exact same as the sound directly from the source. Ideal for recording. Also, this thing is apparently built like a tank. In my studio, I'm always running around, trying to get things done. With the little space that I have, I tend to bang things around on walls, doors, shelving, etc. The mic has already suffered a few hits, but I have not seen any evidence of damage. Lightweight, versatile, reliable. Get this mic. In fact, get this exact set. All the equipment in this set is fantastic quality and SHOULD be worth about 200 something dollars.


OVERALL OPINION

I have tried plenty of mics in my musical career the Superlux e5 can fit in with the best of them. With an overall very warm clear sound that we all love for vocals. Not to mention recording live instruments as well with no hiss or hum. You can record with this mic in a regular room with no treatment and the sound still come out very nice and natural. The price is great for something of this quality. You wont find much of a better deal.

OVERALL OPINION

- I use it for some time but fawn intensive (four hours per day for two weeks)
- I like its price, its quality like less (normal price)
- I have used the microphone on which the E523 / D t littralement copied I mean the Audiotechnica AT825 is an excellent mic, much better than the Superlux, but also a little more .

- I needed a microphone to complete his catch during a work trip and my Rode NT4 had me in his hands. as penniless, I opt for the E523 / D. .. History to come back with some sounds.

- For the price, it's quite acceptable ... But it sr that 55 Euros, we can not expect what sounds like a Schoeps or DPA. Despite the technical specifications that are vritable a "copy-collquot, the AT825, your exact field is Different. Much less precision in the treble, a espce bump around 800Hz for the worst effect, little (or no) bass and a rather low sensitivity gnral.

-Anyway: it's a good buy for someone who does not want too much money and when same-record "Manir" professional. In addition, given the low cot it can be used for decision sounds a bit ... dangerous for the hardware: the micro IDAL place in the middle of a field to store in the rain or install on top of a tree to our friends feathers.

OVERALL OPINION

Two sessions, unwanted tests and recording turn-over a month.

First impression: may be taken on a very indeterminate background instruments (not enough heat, very dry, raw apple itself), due to improper placement or I have not found, but the back, faithfully the specter of a voice (sung or spoken) through an amp ... er! Voice for example.
Decision made at 5cm from the speaker on one side (stereo side) of a Berhinger Ultratone K450FX.
Conclusion: very satisfactory results; warm voice, very faithful reproduction of the EQ settings Ultratone / table mix, grain softens despite the dirty side of apple, mono stereo spectrum followed.

I actually tried many other models before this type of atmosphere, but not stereo X / Y (Shure PG81 couple live recording, M-Audio Pulsar in mood and recovery amp free).
In the end, I decided to buy this one for not even a third of a pound in england.

What I like about this mic is that it does not cheat with her, or the taking is good or it is not at all.
What I like least ... Perhaps his side not rustic at all (lol).

Price / quality ratio for a micro unbeatable in this class in voice and especially also for its robust manufacturing virtually unbreakable.

Yes I would do cechoix again if I had to buy a second.
