I use them for sound recording and listening on the move.
Comfortable enough for short times, but if you listen to them too long, you ears get really hot.

Pretty robust, I usually take them along with me and they are still in very good shape. Their weakness are the cushions, which get damaged right away.

Very pleasant sound for easy listening. The low mids are way upfront and they lack some very high frequencies and deep lows. Fine for recording. Bad for mixing due to their lack of precision, especially in the low mids, and balance, they are flattering, making them a trap.
I gave them 7 for the listening experience, but if they are intended for mixdown, I'd give them 4.

Good sound reproduction, but not for long listening sessions

Audio-Technica ATH-M30Published on 09/20/13 at 04:56
I use these headphones to connect them to my keyboards
Nevertheless, my ears are sore after only an hour

They seem solid, the headband is comfortable.
Jack connector in two sizes with screw adapter

Balanced response, the lows are a bit weak, but they are monitoring headphones.
Good sound level
Good isolation

I've used them 1 month
I hesitated between this model and the AKG 240 MK2, which costs twice as much
Good value for money.
Not enough time has gone by to make an objective appraisal

I listen to music and write songs with them (although I haven't been writing much lately)
I listen to electronic music and Hip Hop.
These headphones are so comfortable and light that they seem to have been molded to my head.
A real delight!!!!!
Finally the right headphones :D

They seem solid, detachable connector included
I haven't used them for a long time, but I think they'll last.

They sound neutral, without too much bottom nor too much high end, even though you can feel the highs. But they are pretty cool.
I have the impression of having my Yahama HS 80 in front of my head, it's awesome.

I used to have a pair of Sony cans, which I thought were good.

But the sound was very poor, unlike with these, whose sound is beyond comparison.
I would buy this brand again without thinking it twice, they are really pro, and for this price, they are amazing.

I give them 9/10.

I bought them on ebay, in case you find it useful. :)

QUALITY
Bought 8 years ago for about 90 Euros
Quality as the headset has not moved since.
No false contact
Good cable length and flexible.
Very pleasant to use even longer.

HIS SIDE
Well balanced, not too this medium as on most headphones (presonus, shure and other Prodipe). Deep bass and upper midrange and treble clear.
A good stereo balance.
The best value I've ever seen for 8 years.

I recommend this headset.

I bought it there are 4 years.

I possde an HD-25 and ath-m30.
The pros: The 3-meter cable very strong
The headphones very comfortable.
The adapter jack / minijack well made.
The quality of sound not EMDU.

For mixing: So this is where I begin to feel its limitations, I would like it to be a little more clear up and Retailer with bass prcises.
Stereo image that makes me is nice but a bit messy.
Over the years my ears have a little form and I would say I better repre its shortcomings (not me at all Dranger to beginners)

Basically, if a c'atait again, I Rasht!
Very good price quality ratio, in good order.
For the cost of fun for the amateur mao: Go for it!

for 1 year ....
what I like is that the sound is fairly neutral
and that it covers well, but in the long run it hurts the ears
o the note.
I have not try other headphones bcp
I find it good enough the RAPORT / quality prices (77 to milonga)
it is strong enough for my 3 year old son is always playing avecet nickel.
with experience yes, I'll buy a 2nd headphone but I think I'll take a *+=*... m has about 30 c rappers just to have my back in casque.quand I record.
if you have too much and that means you are not a pro,
I advise you to dial .....
if not add a little more (150) to please your ears

I achetr this after noon, so I did not try much, but what I try is very good.

what I like most is the sound, accurate and fairly neutral and insulation of outside sounds.

I like the least, the design, I was hesitant to buy at first a little off''cheap'', but the sound is great so I took them.

I do not essyaer tons of headphones, but I know quite well.

value for money is excellent, but it is good ($ 90 CAD)

with experience ... well I have not had much with, I've used about 4 hours, but I think yes, I am very satisfied.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M30 are a pair of closed studio headphones that are at that price that spills over into the mass consumer market. For this, they are fantastic. For consumers who have never used anything but a pair of iPod headphones, the Audio-Technica ATH-M30 headphones are something that will blow them away completely. This is where I absolutely am enamored with Audio-Technica as a company. Their headphones, down to their cheapest, offer some bizarrely and disproportionately high level of fidelity, transparency, and clarity.

This is where I absolutely am enamored with Audio-Technica as a company. Their headphones, down to their cheapest, offer some bizarrely and disproportionately high level of fidelity, transparency, and clarity.

I wouldn't really use them to mix, having a set of higher quality headphones at my disposal, however, as with the ATH-M40FS's which I may have blasted earlier, I do certainly feel that at their price point, they aren't bad. They're noticeably lower in quality than the next tier of headphones, but that doesn't mean they're bad. Personally, I wouldn't mix with these at all, having a pair of Sony MDR7506's lying around. However, I would not have my standards discourage anyone from mixing on these. While I wouldn't do it, it's certainly doable.

They're also quite comfortable as long as you don't move around too much while you are tracking. It's unfortunate that they do feel slightly cheap when this happens. That's why the Audio-Technica ATH-M30's are best suited for sitting around.

If you're serious about mixing however, you'd buy a pair of monitors. Barring that though, since they are prohibitively expensive for the home studio owner, if you really want to mix, I would suggest investing in a quality pair of headphones, like my Sony MDR7506's, some of the Sennheisers that come between $100 and $200, or the Audio-Technica ATH-M50's. Those are a true investment, and even then, I wouldn't discourage getting some ATH-M30's for tracking and monitoring and A/Bing.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M30's are a solid pair of headphones that you can't really go wrong with, but you could certainly go more right.

I tested many models before making my purchase, 60 euros when you're young is not nothing. I tried: Shure SRH240, a less good and a mediocre confert; Sony Mdr-7505 comfort pleasant enough, but something in my hamper the sound, probably the ubiquitous bass and treble that attacks a bit ears, Samson Rh600 is the one that advised me to my dealer, I've found a bit disappointing especially on the stereo AKG K450: A very good sound, but I prefer a headphone closed.

What thing do you like most/least about it?

The headset is very good, he married directly your ears is nice, the foam is very comfortable. cable and jack sound very good. It amazed me the level, especially for the price of good bass, it provides over its very heavy, it has good highs, mids are good too, nothing exeptional be, but if you had a headphone worse invoice before you will really hear your music! The stereo is very good, I even created a little sound to try to put a headphone wrong on this point I find it very powerful. The outer insulation is good it feels in his little bubble. To conclude the sound is fairly neutral, and (very) good quality. Note that the impedance high enough to offset the sound headphones with your mp3, or in return for a platen for example, even if it was still a little power and sound, it is still used in these situation.

What is your opinion about the value for the price?

Very good, see if you are looking for a good monitoring headphones with good performance and do not necessarily want to slam ball 100, it is for you. Note that the design is not super fashionable, trendy, used the word you want, it is simple and I find it really quite visually pleasing.

Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...

Its only two weeks that I have it and it totally convinced me, since I can not move without it, it made me "dependent" was listening to the music which I was already a major consumer and to practice my music (computer music Headset Amplifiers, Back Deck, listen on PC, MP3) he convinced me, and I thought I could sound as good to price.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M30's are a set of closed back studio headphones. I've used these headphones solely for monitoring during recording and nothing else really. Judging from using them in this fashion, I don't think I'd recommend using them for anything else other than this application anyway. They feel okay in terms of being comfortable, but aren't the most comfortable headphones out there that I've used at all. They fit on my head and stayed there just fine, but don't have the tightest grasp, which could be a positive or negative thing depending on how you look at it. They fit on my head and stayed there just fine, but don't have the tightest grasp, which could be a positive or negative thing depending on how you look at it. As far as the sound quality is concerned, these are sub par at best in my opinion. They lack a sufficient low end response, but do provide an adequate enough sound for monitoring during recording. However, I wouldn't use them for any other sort of using, and of course not for mixing or any critical listening. In general I wouldn't do any mixing on headphone, and especially not of these. Audio-Technica has plenty of headphones to choose from in all price ranges, but it seems like the ATH-M30's should be a bit cheaper than they are. In my opinion you can definitely get a better set of headphones for this price, but I guess in the end these aren't all that bad. I just wouldn't recommend them if you're in the market for a set of mid level recording studio headphones, as I'd go with something like the Vic Firth Isolation Headphones over these any day. I'd also encourage you to check out other headphones made by the likes of Audio Technica and Sennheiser, as the Sennheiser HD 280 Pros will cost you a bit more than these, but they're in a whole other league in my opinion. If you want a set of headphones that will last you a while and are a bit more versatile, I'd spend the extra money and go with the HD 280 Pros, but if you don't want to spend that much I'd still recommend going with a pair other than the ATH-M30's.
