DiMarzio Twang King

DiMarzio DP172 Twang King NeckPublished on 01/31/02 at 15:00
The pickup was purchased online through the Torres Engineering online catalog for the very reasonable price of $48.95. It was chosen to replace the stock bridge pickup in a Fernandes tele style guitar.

The Fernandes tele sounds excellent for clean or overdriven tones. Installation was easy, just 3 wires to be soldered, 1 to the switch and 2 to ground.

There is nothing about the sound I really dislike, although the treble control on my amp needed to be increased slightly.

Great DiMarzio quality & manufacturing. Comes packed in a hard plastic case for minimal damage in transit to the customer's home.

The Twang King really beefs up the sound of any Tele or Tele style guitar without losing the clean Tele tone that we all know and love. The Twang King's value is 8.07k and can be used in the neck or bridge position for that vintage Tele classic clean tone.

I installed it on American TV, I had originally put a Fender Vintage kit
Immediately the sound is very flat, it lacks shine and slamming it's a little sound goes everywhere, twang stand less funky cocote are also transcended it has a modern grain contrary to what is written on the site, it lacks character, I think even the Fender Standard kit was doing better, or there is good is that couples easily with Dimarzio Chopper balance is perfect was the same output level unlike Fender Vintage did not render well with the Chopper
For me simple microphone to avoid after coupling with Chooper Twang King or why not ... Those who want the vintage grain clean kind Jeff Buckley going your way it...…

I bought this mic because I was looking for something versatile and slamming to replace the original microphone of my telecaster that I found too soft and without any dynamic.

I have the gold version (not chrome - then it does not change anything except aesthetic level) that I bought about 55 € ia.

You can really play anything. This mic holds up even with pedals metal type metal muff or bloody mary (after this is done, but hey, it's good to take tjrs).

On clean sounds of my mesa, this mic has incredible sound. I had the opportunity to test the Fender custom shop pickups and frankly, I much prefer the Twang King (matter of taste, I am not at all questioning the quality mics...…

This micro dj silent ride on my Fender Telecaster (Mexico), buy OCCAZ. I never play on a Telecaster with original pickups, so I can not compare.
However I find the sound trs correct.
It trs CHARACTERISTICS Tele sound, warm, round, soft. Is the famous twang Submitted by rglages and the amp. Of lamps is a pure rgal, if not playing on rglages little to make it sound.
Ideal for jazz, pop, blues and good old rock.

Good level of output (89mV) for this type of microphone.

Mtal not in sight, unless you like the background noise. It is not enough prcis distos on large, but it is not the goal. If I possdais a Tele amricaine likely I would leave the microphones of origin, if the micro...…
