    I like it....a lot

Fender Classic '72 Telecaster ThinlinePublished on 02/17/12 at 16:14
For what it's worth. This review is for a 2011 American Thinline in red. I know these get slightly different treatments year by year. Mine has a maple neck and an ash body, which is primarily why I bought it because I didn't like my old one which was alder. I got it for $1470 out the door. So I feel like it was a pretty good deal. This also has the vintage fender bridge which I am honestly not a huge fan of. I don't like how they respond to palm mutes. I will likely replace it if I decide to keep it.

    UTILIZATION

I happen to play in a surf rock band. I got this to use in that band primarily. The action is about as good as you would expect. Fret work is pretty good. I'm not absolutely floored by the overall quality but I'm not disappointed either considering what I paid. Finish is pretty good, no flaws. It does kind of have that glossy finish thing going on at the neck. I've never been a fan of this. Some more vintage looking knobs would have been nice. I'm honestly nit picking about a lot of little things. Overall I'm happy. It's a fun guitar to play. You pick it and you can't help but smile and want to rock out.

    SOUNDS

My only big complaint with the thinline reissues have been the wide range pickups. To me, they don't sound at all like the old ones. They don't sound bad mind you, but I am really after those authentic wide range humbucker sounds and these are simply not quite there. These don't have the same treble response, and I think are more in the P90 camp to my ears. Like I said, not a terrible thing, but when a good authentic set costs a few hundred, it makes this guitar cost me that much more. Fortunately the stock pickups sound pretty good for my surf rock stuff. I'm playing it through a Mesa Lonestar 6l6 version.

    OVERALL OPINION

If you aren't super picky about your thinlines like I am, this is a well priced and very fun guitar. You know how some guitars just say "take me out and play me?" This is one of those guitars for sure. Nobody else is really making good thin line reissues right now so in my opinion this is the best one.

Mexican U handle, two double Fender.

    UTILIZATION

Beautiful guitar, violin vintage race typical 70's to love! The weight is great. Sound: While the best position is both the neck pickup lacks a bit of clarity and the bridge pickup is a bit too nasal for double.mais s'quilibrent perfectly and together they gave her my opinion personalis guitar. The large black dot is the varnish. It is a polyurethane trs pais giving a touch a little bastard, is not at all vintage and in addition he will never look old. It really is a dommage.Mais mexico!

2 months is rock 'n' roll every day! This is a great scratching rock, in the sense large.Pour riffs, the rhythm Paisses, pumps rokab.C is a killer, double Fender make the Difference: a similar but the P.90 more pais.Je cheek on Deluxe home Hi-Watt and 50 in rpeter well as terrible as it is clear American / reverb in English crunchy with a tube screamer is a cry! And it's more lightweight than a Les Paul. I'm a fan of this guitar, I rvais an original for 10 years but given the ridiculous price of 700 euros OCCAZ does this fills me 100% even if the varnish is really crap!

Blame it on the neck radius (observable on the same phnomne stratos with handle 7.5 ") and there are no two solutions: increase the action. Yeah, he must suffer a little.
Weight OK (when the body is even with the chamber allg rsonnance.
Its OK if you use the scratch for what it is intended: rockabilly, country, blues, indie pop rock, but not Nu Metal or metal at all in fact

    SOUNDS

As long as one remains in the light crunch and no political correctness problem.
The best effect between the scraper and an amp (Fender Hot Rod De Ville impeccable!) Is a cable.
Reserved few on the neck pickup (not one I got muddy)
The mix of the two microphones is in super clean and crunch, and the bridge pickup slice well, without tearing your eardrums like some (bad) single coil Telecaster.
More: no thanks to humbuckers hum.

    OVERALL OPINION

I had one that I bought in a 84 Gusse who no longer wanted (€ 150)
I rcemment exchange against a new Strato, for versatility.
She is always on display and remorse torments me every time I pass.
Despite its imperfections, is a guitar type and charming.
If I m'coutais (read: if my banker understood me) I also Rasht sec.
