I got this baby at Guitar Center.
I wanted a versatile Guitar.
I paid $590, out the door.

I like the jumbo frets.
The neck pickup rocks.
I love the two tone sunburst finish.

What's not to love?
It's the original Tele!

It's a Fender, need I say more?

While this is one of the more expensive guitars that I own ( hey I'm on a musician's
budget), I am thrilled with the bang for my buck!
I own a number of Teles.
They're all great.
However, Fender out did themselves on this one.
Just amazing!

My guitar was purchased through Musichaus Thoman Cyberstore by mail order. I paid by credit card total pric inc. delivery £438. I have always played Fender or Fender copy guitars and was tempted by the thought of a genuine Fender USA tele at what seemed to be a bargain price.

The guitar does have a classic tele sound due to the Alnico magnets and pickup style and configuration. The neck is well fretted and straight, and the machine heads, string retainer and control strip appear to be identical to the more expensive American series.

On the down side - the matt finish described as letting the sound breathe (who are they kidding!) falls off easily. The flimsy neck plate indents where the screws tighten and they couldn't be bothered to write Fender on it, and worst of all, I'm informed by Fender Europe that my nice all American Tele doesn't have USA pick-ups as the American series.

The construction and quality is no better than you expect from a Korean import which are generally pretty good. The woods used are plain and unatractive and in the case of the body - segmented I'm informed to five pieces.

Although I realise this is a relatively cheap instrument, Fender are clearly profiteering on a classic design by cutting a lot of corners. My advice is if you're more interested in quality not name buy a Japanese version. As a guitar teacher and player of 35 years I can tell you that the 70's guitars were generally poor. The company's latest offerings only just represent value for money at the high end, but not the Highway!

I got this guitar from musiciansfriend.com. I paid about $600 for it and it came with a deluxe gig bag. I got it because i've always liked fender guitars and i liked the sound the tele made over the strat.

I definately like the tone of this guitar. It really can create a wide range of sounds and alll sorts of textures using just your amp and volume and tone controls. I also liked the simplicity of the controls and the sound from having just two pickups. the action was set up great right out of the box , but the intonation was a little off. This guitar cn get any sound but it is rather diffcult to get really muddy blues sounds or bass heavy hard rock sound like it is with all single coil guitars. The price was also a big plus getting an american fender tele for only $600.

The bridge has only three saddles so it is not as customizable as a six saddle version. The finish (mine is a three tone sunburst) is very easy to scratch. The thin lacquer coating lets the guitar get great tone and lowers the cost, but gets scratched by my belt buckle during plain and just from the pick during heavy strumming. The tele also doesn't have a tremelo unit, but that is part of the character of the guitar, also it is not nearly as comfortable to play standing as a strat but I think the tone more than compansates for that.

The quality for the most part was excellent. The frets were finished well and the volume and tone pots have a steady impact through the whole spin. The neck pick up on mine squeled very bad, but when i called the musiciansfriend customer service they helped me get the problem solved with no problem. other than that the only other issue is that part of the rear pick up hole is exposed, but that is only noticable from about two inches away.

If you want the real american tele sound for only $600 then buy this guitar. If you have any oroblems the customer service is great. However if you like styles like heavy metal or a more bass heavy bluesy sound you probably shouldn't be klooking at fender guitars in the first place. An excellent guitar for the money and an excellent first "good" guitar. Give it a four because nothing is perfect.

I picked up this fine guitar at Jims Music in Irvine, California. I wanted a guitar that was well built, with bunch of tone. I payed $400, but that was with a trade in. They retail for about $800-$850.

I like pretty much everything about this tele, it sounds incredible, its very smoothe to play. The look of this guitar...beautiful. This is a all around wonderful insturment.

I wish i could drive it a little more, it can get pretty hot. But sometimes thoes stock fender pickups cant handle too much.

Well, everything i have takes a beating, and its held up. If you knew me, you would know this is a good thing its still togather.

The bottom line is, this is a great insturment and i recomend it to just about anyone who wants a great guitar with incredible tone.

Oh man where do i start fender guitars are the best guitars in the world! this guitar was the best one in the shop. To start off with the price was the best thing about it, you cant go wrong at that price. The neck is just so nice, it was a smooth warm love-length of maple that was ribbed with frets, the frets them selves are made of a nickel alloy and were finely polished, if they had been any shiny-er they would have blinded me!. (this let alone is more than enough to turn on any woman!) the size and shape of the neck was just right for me. the strings on some guitars hurt the end of your fingers after youve been playing them for two minutes, you could play this guitar alllllllllllll year round and never get bored or tired with it. The body comprised of alder with a matt purpely maroon finnish that shimers in the light with elegance. Because of this finnish it has a thin laqaur unlike the american series. due to this the body helps the sound of the guitar, when they say how many plies they are it does actually make a differance. The strings when played dont have loads of fret buzz and they are not clanky and cranky, its probably the nicest action in the world!!!. The pickups are so far the nicest sounding ive ever heard, when blues is played, it adds a fourth dimension to your playing, it will make any beginner sound like a jimmy page, Speaking of jimmy page this guitar can throw a mean rock sound, when plugged into a valve combo with the gain turned up it produces a wonderfull "chug" noise when palm muted. I found my self playing communication breakdown and i was just amazed by the versatility of this guitar. The hardware is chromed and dosent feel like its gonna snap because its got suc a high carbon content!, I think that the hard wear must also make a differnce to the sound. If there is anyone out there who owns a stratocaster or a telecaster they will tell you that fender guitars are the best and if therye is any one who owns an American telecaster, they will tell you its the best... you know what that is just BULL SHIT!, these guiatrs and mexican telecasters kick any guitar arse. and they do it well. It dosent matter if youve got a mexican telecaster then dont be ashamed about it, what youve got there is one on the best iconic guitars in the universe! The I think people who would disagree with this guitar would be crazy!

However BMOL: 3 chavelet vintage bridges, so imprecise tuning of the high E, like all the tv with this type of bridge, we like it or not, aa charm.
Round handle, a little gross, which put much confidence, finishing correct frets for the USD.

UTILIZATION

As dj said, round trs Gross, with whom envy and "get into it," the solos finesse does not come at once, the BTE, with its lack of muzzle, is tr s "raw" and trs is fun, because it is raw without being brutal ... Nice!

Sound: Blues and rock, rock pchu see, I think for lejazz, a lack of hair finnesse. The riffs sorrtent all alone!
I play a Rivera K55, trs rock, and my faith is very nice (even if not a n'gale finesse and punch like "punch in the belly of my PRS
The micro acute slice well, with an ct "twang" well ahead, though brilliant when pushing the Tone.
The bass is round and warm, though solo girls cry ...

OVERALL OPINION

I've been a big month
I bought one because I rvais long time, and as it would not scratch my main (which is the PRS), I took one of the US Premire, and the fact of j well ...
Quality level price is a bargain. Fender made Corenne quasiement for the same price (under 100) but the quality and less scabies, the guitar is less and less versatile homogne (very blues and rock too)
Obviously the choice I would do with his eyes closed
Conclusion: if you want a telecaster which provides without breaking the bank, buy a telecaster Higway one.

I own this guitar for 1 year, superb, I have a special GIBSON Lespaul excellent but I increasingly tend to prefer the Telecaster (neck pleasant)

Guitar gross but it must be earned, you come out of their super, but apply the wrong, I love, I do not like easy guitar to play but the sound was like everyone else.
cot ergonomics, but a real board with a good balance, that's the blues! is at your fingertips

SOUNDS

Suits my style blues rock, I use an amp Bedrock pr + W Twin Mesa Boogie amp, the preamp also a great, the sound I was looking for for years.
Acute rock the mic a wish (status quo in overdrive), the serious blues has to cry, the intermediary, great chorus especially with my TC Electronic

Excellent value for money, deserves more than a cover, I bought a box, for to sleep ...

As a novice, I would be unable to give a technical description of my telecaster highway. All we can say is that it's a pleasure to beginners on a handle enjoyable without having to shout "go-go-gadget-to-fingers" to ring a chord. The strings are indeed close to the rev table.
You probably need some technical potential of your checks, but this guitar even without years of training can, with an amp not too rotten, out of pretty sounds.

SOUNDS

Looking at the new rock bands during their concerts we can see that the telecaster (intended to blues base) sometimes supplant the strato.
Indeed, this guitar has a good range of sounds available with 2 buttons rglage (not including the sound volume Obviously). One will let you play more and more solo and accompaniment, the other will give a more or less crystalline. So she can play any little prs styles of music, exept may be the mtal or hard rock.
Well used and well with this guitar sounds so offers INTERESTED

OVERALL OPINION

In a year and a half I have this guitar through my familiar and new sounds even if the acoustic guitars are my preferences, the telecaster can compromise all points of view:
Guitars and not-Chres Chres
And medium-excpetionnelles
-Electric and pure love of the acoustic.

A fender telecaster affordable and it is difficult to be dcu ...

yes, of course, tl Japan, US standart, James Trussart Steelcaster.

bad, when I read the opinion hallucinating, buy a "real" US standart of opportunity for the same price, there is no picture!

UTILIZATION

I absolutely love this guitar, it's the best feeling guitar I've ever played. It's better than the American Standard Telecasters that I've played and better than any Mexican made Fender I've tried. The upper fret access isn't great due to the bolt on neck but it's not hard to play by any means.

The electronics are simple so it's easy to get a good sound out of this guitar.

SOUNDS

I've used this guitar with a Marshall JCM900 Mk iii and various fuzz pedals and it sounds great. The hot pickups sound amazing through the Marshall when it's clean or cranked and has an excellent treble response which helps cut through in a band mix a lot.

This guitar has a definite tele-twang to the sound which I love. I think the pickups will be hot enough to play anything except for high gain metal but sound great clean as well.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall I think this is the perfect guitar for me, I just wish my friend would sell me it. I ask him every time I play it but it's always no. I definitely think this is worth trying out at a shop if you're in the market for a telecaster as they're reasonably priced and are great guitars.

The only thing I would change is the rosewood fretboard to a maple one but for me it's quite a minor issue and it's available in maple anyway so I'd just have to shop around for one.
