So ... it's an all-tube amp (4 EL34 power and 3 12AX7 in pramplification) 100 watts switchable in 50 or 25 watts.

At the rglages, two channels (clear gain) for both with the same line of equalizer: bass treble medium presence
Note that the channel gain becomes hi-gain by the intermediary of a push-pull
Reverb and eq paramtrique just top it off.

USE

For this amp, I managed Tlcharger the manual on the carvin site: explanations are clear and informative. To get the carvin grain, just put the whole equalization 5. rglages to approach the grain marshall and mesa boogie are donns, which facilitates the task.
What is notable about this amp is that the equalizer section is very significant: from 4 5 at low or other rglage completely alters the sound. This amp is a man to do everything by offering a wide range of sonorits diffrentes offering sounds, I would say, very professional.
I compared a safe: doucettement turning all the knobs to get the combination desired.

SONORITS

This amp has a lot of bass in both clean that distortion, although not bnficie a closed cabinet which could tighten the ring in style "stack" (which bsr is not the case).
Passing on the gain channel are obtained crunch sounds very convincing, ledzeppelinniens for me, even if a les paul would be better that.
Hi-gain, with my poor squier strato is slowing a bit: a lack of potato. In contrast, rglages marshall and boogie are bluffing, very well made, very pros. Nevertheless, I say: fans of big current distos, go your way, this amp is not for you.

Note for owners of humbuckers guitars: a control "Bright" which allows Lighten sound (apparently it also works on the saturated channel - to do ... after the mystery and ball gum, my home has not seemed to work ...?!).
compar my old marshall transistor (a 5210 "transistor Version" of the JCM 800) Two conclusions can be drawn:
Before, with my only outlet, I thought an amp = a unique sound, very typ. Carvin dmontr me otherwise.
Indeed, between transistors and lamps there's no picture, by far, although the 5210 if you are in OCCAZ, I advise you to try it, worth a detour for the solid state !!

The eq paramtrique assignable channel once: he quickly bought a eq pedal and gives good results.

NOTICE GLOBAL

I use it for 1 year and I am satisfied. I would only use it with another skyscraper that Squier me to make me happy in the bass and distorted sonorits.
The carvin does not emerge as the amp with the sound that kills, but rather as an amp with multiple sonorits very convincing. Well, that's surely not the last word it is a trick of the 80's and god knows that sounds have volus since ...

UTILIZATION

Very simple and very typindestructible heavy!
Fucking power! 25, 50 ou100W!
This amp is a tank vritable!
Footswitch allows the use of the loop.
The grain is unique (not marshall, mesa not to know) and omnipresent.

SOUNDS

Big crunch, but nervous and typ.
Clean bright without good for jazz with funk for good dynamic.
The normal lead well in overdrive bluesrock.
The lead is higain East 70's hardrock and stoner (Black Sabbath) but lacks precision for the modern metal because too runny.
Parametric EQ bass overboosted; hp super carvin!
The pedals are great distortion channel with the clean round (not bright)
the loop is complete (...); echo can boost the sound with the 3 settings (thank you the footswitch!)
Reverb passable.
The presence of knob is great (sound muffled fuzz in the lead)

OVERALL OPINION

My opinion: the grain should be and it's nirvana!
either you plug an overdrive (the clean) and made your own sound (the HP is perfect)

solid, reliable, complete, compact, efficient, heavy.
Mine is in EL 34, with a black shadow, I do not know the record with HP original.

UTILIZATION

The configuration of this amp is simple but quite reactive (especially the graphic equalizer), fasting it will ...
It takes a little time to go anywhere, directly because the grain is very present and typed.

SOUNDS

We can do many things with it.
A weakness in the crunch, overdrive, which are too acidic for my taste, but a rat is connected to rake it in very broad and not modeling the sauce, although the overall sound is modern.
I bought it after trying three-quarter hours, not to sculpt the sound that suits me with, but to split hairs, the trap ... Y HAS NOT.
I have clear sounds really slamming way twin or Vibrolux (with more bass please!) And large distos even live with a varied palette quickly, using just a switch in the graphic equalizer on the bright or saturated . With a good distortion is connected to four different sound quality, all without speaking chorus flanger and everything else that digests this amp in the loop as a verbena is digested by the fire.
A cry baby no longer has anything to do with this amp on the hi gain, trying vraiment.Sinon on the same channel all the agreements are rich in harmonics, well defined and posted same temps.Ca slap!
The knob attendance is also very effective and the reverb a bit boring to settle in clean but pretty disgusting and quickly with the distortion kind murky tunnel.


OVERALL OPINION

I spend two or three hours on it every day for four months and what pisses me off is that I get used to having a sound that tabasse.Je become a bourgeois asshole hard.
I played on a lot of stuff and I decided to post this blurb to say that it was a special amp sound not at all guitarists, BUT:
This is the amp have to do everything properly in the studio.
Considering the price and the potential that it develops I strongly advice to all those who find that their records still sound like, and who can not afford to equip themselves with several high-end amp.
This amp plus a good Hp (if the original is bad?) Than it cost 700 euros if there is no good OCCAZ, and you're cushy for fifteen years.
I was really counting on it to fall here in the studio before then know to have it.
