UTILIZATION

There is no configuration: you turn the knobs, it works, that's all.

Accuracy: before I decide, I tested two extremes:

> Orange Tiny Terror head: beautiful grain, but a bit limited for me with a single channel
> The Fender Super Champ XD (lamp + modeling preamp) gas plant!

In short, the VC15 is the right balance ...

SOUNDS

Everything has been said, but I can confirm that ... and simple words: it is an amp that sounds right away, no need to spend three hours to resolve the "voicings" (Fender Super Champ) or shoot buttons to boost frequencies.

Its clear beautiful, my Les Paul sounds Custopm of 78 as I rarely heard - ever in this price range. Clear crystal with a nice presence but "blues" in the lower medium ... it's hot and precise at the same time.

Drive sound: again everything has been said, it's not for the steelworkers, but for others it's a real pleasure. Blues - garage rock to hard wood, which sends it sounds and especially music that remains regardless of the frequency range ...

A word about the EQ: a first listen, it seems a bit "limited" but use (10 intensive days), it is highly musical.

The amp was recommended to me by the tube amp to Pigalle - special mention: the guys are very cool and even pushed me to go to test other they had no other before deciding !.

It is perfect for my style, rather wide: from pop ballads to hard rock 70's typed, say, between the White Stripes and Pink Floyd :-)

OVERALL OPINION

Before you buy, so I tested:

- Orange Tiny Terror: beautiful sound, huge potato (5 watts but above 4 on the knob you are deaf), but more expensive (to buy the speakers and more) and still limited settings ... no eq, a single channel. But it is an honest amp head.

- Fender Super Champ XD: not my cup of tea. Too many settings, effects a little cheap - I have a TC Electronics, no need for the Fender tremolo - and above all the different voicings of the modeling are unmanageable: the different levels and presence that make it to me unusable live.

Value for money very hard to beat in my opinion. For me it's like the Joe Meek preamps in the studio: English, pure sound, affordable, no frills.

A purchase that I would do it eyes closed! 9 out of 10 because perfection is not of this world
