For the money it doesn't get much better than this amp. This amp comes just over the $1000 but pack quite a punch for the money. The tone from the 6505 is just geared towards rock, hard rock, and metal. This is just a brutal amp with tones of tone for any guitar player.

SOUNDS

This amp needs to be played with a humbucker pickup guitar such as a Gibson Les Paul or a Gibson Explorer. It needs that rock guitar for the gain style this amp produces. You can play any guitar single coil or humbucker but I think it sounds the best with the proper high gunner pickup.

The resonance and presence controls really enable this amp to do what you want with the the bottom end of the tone. The two controls are the key to this amp in my opinion.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these amps come in at around $600 which is a freaking steal of a price. You can get a lot for this kind of money but you sure can get a stellar sounding Peavey amp. I would recommend this amp to anyone needing to stay within a tight budget and needs a proper sounding metal or hard rock amp.

Light amplification, 5 * 2 * 6L6GC and 12AX7.
An input switch with high / low.
2 channels, 3 band EQ, resonance, presence, and the footswitch loop (switching from one channel to another, and whether the activation loop).

All that delivers 60 Watts true (under 16, 8 or 4 Ohms), although sturdy in 2 HP 12.
It is approaching 40 kg, quite heavy, the wheels will be welcome in the future (Be easy to install yourself).


UTILIZATION

The configuration is simple, we take it in hand soon. There is not 50 possible settings making it easier to spot.
It is plug and play very quickly.
The settings are effective without being extraordinary, but with a good guitar behind they are ample.
The clean channel sounds fate of crystalline, that can push (via switch) to the sound driver and get a nice little crunch.
The channel saturation is simply insane, big sound assured! The sound is very distinctive, large disto "Rican" to go with the Peavey leg.
The amp is therefore positioned in register more rock-metal, but can quickly be surprised by his versatility, he will go very well see Jazz blues ... si si!

SOUNDS

I play mostly rock, heavy industrial rock with Gibson Les Paul, Stratocaster, 'Musicman amp and this found its place in the register.

The sound is rich, with lots of harmonics, good bass (the couple of 12 is not for nothing ...) and treble that does not make you whistle ears after half an hour of use .. .
So I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this combo, especially for its versatility. It was used a month in a jazz guitarist, soul, troubleshoot, and the gentleman was conquered by the beast.
Note that with good guitar sound at the base is already good, the amp it only amplifies the signal and this one does it very well! That's what I wanted.

OVERALL OPINION

I always use it since I acquired it, and I would do this choice without a doubt.
The price is clearly affordable opportunity to enter the world of all-tube, I think it's a good first choice for those who do not yet know what all-tube amp to choose.
Its default is versatile with a lack of personality ...
