Vox AC-30 TB
Published on 12/17/02 at 15:00bought this amp about 25 years ago for about $400. was playing out of my dad's amp, adn he suggested that i get one of my own. at the time i was looking for an Ampeg VT-30, but could not find one that was not beat.
when i came across the AC-30, i immediately fell in love with the tone, and the power. i was suprised at how loud the darn thing was with only 30 watts of power. since i am mainly a rhythm player, it had a perfect sound for what i was looking for. it also came with four heavy duty casters for mobility. a great idea. i wonder why more players don't add casters, and save their backs.
not too darn much. except it is getting heavier every year.

the cabinet looks tatty, the grill cloth need to be replaced, and i have replaced about a billion tubes. but the darn thing keeps on playing. it has never let me down once.
darn good amp. i have looked at some of the Line 6 and Valvetronics modeling amps, and would like to have one, but when i get back from the music store, and plug my old Gibson into the AC-30, all those thoughts disapear.
