OVERALL OPINION

Previous opinions summarize the product very well. I would just add two things:

1-The picture shows the product Audiofanzine on record is not good (it is 15w)

2-Feedback: coupled with a Vintage 30 ... it is absolutely fabulous in clear sounds. In terms of effects, going well and thus make all fantasies.

UTILIZATION

It could not be simpler. The manual states that it takes 30 seconds to heat lamps. I mention this because it is very rare.
Effective and well progressive buttons.
Amp made to play at home, even 5 watts, but also a group with a powerful speaker 4-16 Ohms and 102 db.

SOUNDS

Beautiful clear and balanced sound. Difficult to saturate with this amp but this is normal Ampeg has made it his trademark. The advantage is to have a clean high volume sound.
In 2.5 w must change the settings because the sound is muffled.
This head digests very well pedals. Distos magnified.

UTILIZATION

The settings seem very simple.

I agree with the previous opinion. This is an original amp, that it is impossible to cruncher in a room. Even at 2.5 watts.
Even with a booster, the lamps do not allow themselves to do .. I do not know why I say that, but I know what I mean.
but what's clear. crystalline enough to be compared to the fender in can approach ..
I think that it is easier to approach the clear sound of the old marshall, but I know less.
I'm a big fan of crystalline sounds yet but this amp has almost made me change my opinion. Almost.

OVERALL OPINION

I month. I was scared at the beginning because I thought the sound was a little deaf. but we must work to prove not.
I have a Vibrochamp xd, very good room to play but I was always on the same preset fender, then I have wanted to pay me a fender type head, but I came across this one.
m it comes to reconnect the XD, even when c is the same. I prefer to play on this little Ampeg.
voila, then it is sorely lacking a little reverb.
but otherwise it is almost perfect.
the overall score does not correspond to the average score above, but I want it to Ampeg not have put a little reverb ..
And I remain a fan of the fender, then that may be one day I craquerai and resell this nice little amp.

It is the words that come to my mouth. Indeed, 9/10ths of people who buy a tube amp, especially low-power, buy it to "crunch" the lamps at the end of the race, or to take a nice little distortion lamps pushing all buttons background ...

The sound is clear, but so clear, even with all the knobs at the end of the race and the "Power" on 5W

And that's what I love about this amp!
Why try to do what everyone else is doing already? I especially looked for beautiful clear sound for the distortion pedal I ...
Ampeg is known for its clear sound, very close to a Fender amp, with a strong presence grain "lamps" but "try" sound, many nuances of the game, the short walk!
The Treble and Bass knobs are VERY effective, workable end to end (even with Bass and Treble thoroughly mini sound is not too choked, same Treble and Bass mini thoroughly not too loud)
These settings provide the final palette incredibly rich and varied sounds clear, I love it!

I also note that if it is clear, the sound of the Ampeg to relive my distortion pedals (BOSS DS-1 Danelectro Cool Cat Overdrive) by giving them a grain that I did not know them before

OVERALL OPINION

I have this amp for 2 months and I think we'll get along well for many years

I had several amps and heads lamps before (BlackHeart Little Giant 5w, Bugera V5, Vox AC5TV Blue Vox Lil 'Night Train) and no clear sounds of these amps will happen to him in the ankle. In addition, the quality is impeccable: the beautiful and strong!

One may regret the absence of crunch (me first I thought it was funny), but the clean sound is so beautiful that somehow it is more than enough

* For "cruncher" anyway: a overdrive pedal set with a drive at a minimum, and shoo! a nice little slight crunch with the "leg" of the AMPEG

I paid € 182 in this amp our friends Schpountz, while all other sites offer between € 329 and € 369 (price still seems to me not so crazy given the quality of the beast: the price as quality range from low-end VOX and Marshall Class 5 or Fender 5W)
So YES I would do this choice without hesitation, but when? Maybe in 30 years when he let go of me ...
