Peavey Classic 50 Head - Black (Discontinued)Published on 09/21/02 at 15:00
I got this product in ontario canada, used for 600.

It is great for the price, Peavey are always maken a awsome product on top of all their shit. It is fan cooled all tube, reverb works great. It has a 4,8,16 ohm out put

it kinda heavy, but that doesnbt make a big diff, and for the price theres nothing i dont like

great, not like a marhsall but still great.

Decent amp for the money

Peavey Classic 50 Head - Black (Discontinued)Published on 06/24/11 at 10:39
This is a 50 watt two channel amp that is geared towards the old school rock and country tones. This is generally a clean amp with a mild overdrive for channel one. For channel two you get a little bit more gain on tap but the voicing has is limited to the sweat classic rock tones. Not really a high gain amp even though it does have some good distortion on channel two. This is going to be an amp that you couple with pedals and effects to compliment your playing style.

You can get a decent crunch tone ala AC/DC or Led Zeppelin pretty easily with this amp. The amp has a great classic rock voicing for those interested in that style of guitar playing. The clean is ok, but not a Fender clean...…

You can get a decent crunch tone ala AC/DC or Led Zeppelin pretty easily with this amp. The amp has a great classic rock voicing for those interested in that style of guitar playing. The clean is ok, but not a Fender clean as you might think since this is a more subtle Peavey rock amp and most of them come in a tweed package.

UTILIZATION

The manual is pretty helpful like most Peavey manuals. They give you complete diagrams of settings to get you started on the amp tone. They have rock, metal and country settings so that you can get started quickly and easily. Then you have a good frame of reference to start your own tone with your guitars and rig setup.

SOUNDS

The tone from this amp is not really my cup of tea. The is geared toward the classic rock player who needs a good Fender tweed style amp, but wants more versatility. The amp is versatile for that kid of player. Having the boost switch is stretching in terms of classic Fender style EQing. Also having another channel is going to be a bit much for some old guys who this amp is marketed towards. However, if you need that versatility and the price is an issue then this would be a good amp.

The clean tone is a pretty decent clean tone. You can crank the volume up more and it will get a mild overdrive tone. When you engage channel two there you will get some good distortion much like a tubescreamer would get in front of an already overdriven Fender classic amp.

OVERALL OPINION

For me this isn't my favorite amp from Peavey, but it is a decent amp. Peavey has since stopped making these amp heads and so the used market is the only way to go at this point. I have seen them in the classifieds and on evilbay for around $300+ or so. Not a bad price for two channel tweed Bassman style amp with a lot more than a bassman could do. You will get a very usable clean tone and a solid distortion tone fit for classic rock, country, and pop music.

I would recommend this amp to anyone who needs a good two channel tweed amp and doesn't want to spend too much to get it. This is a good amp that will give you solid creamy rich classic rock tones all day long.

Amp any lamps 50 W, a clear channel (adjustable volume) and a saturated channel (adjustable pre and post-gain), common to the two equalization with master volume, reverb very good (really), set the "presence" bright and normal input, output and effects loop switch at the back.

UTILIZATION

Configuration very simple but effective.
Easily obtained a good sound, équalistion is good, not great but good.
The clean sound is very good, very hot, adding a little (or a lot) of reverb is even better now

SOUNDS

I play a little every style and I bought this amp for blues-jazz-fusion-rock-punk .... Brief many different kinds but not too too nags. The clean sound is very beautiful with nice...…

SOUNDS

I play a little every style and I bought this amp for blues-jazz-fusion-rock-punk .... Brief many different kinds but not too too nags. The clean sound is very beautiful with nice bass (of course depends on the guitar) well for jazz, blues, reggae / rock etc ... The distortion can range from slight crunch to blues pop rock and even hard rock bodied by plugging an Ibanez RG distos get great jazz-fusion and hard with a lot of sustain and sound big enough (though compressed) pushing the pre and post thoroughly (and no pb of feedback provided ... impressive).
I like all the sounds this amp with sortable, particularly clean sounds with a Start and distos nastiest guitar with humbuckers ... of course it depends on the guitar you use because unlike other transistors and amplifiers multi-effects with speaker sound really depends on your guitar / your game / your attack etc ... and so better now.

OVERALL OPINION

I own one since qques days but have already had the opportunity to play on the top and her little brothers 30 and 50 combo ... paid 480 euros used, it's really good stuff and (in my case at least) for cheap. as possible to try

I have a 50W all-tube head with 2 HP (410 and 118).
So it is a 2 x 3 bodies connected by 8 ohms mono jacks.
The only effect is a reverb Intgr, with the foot switch.
There are two channels: clear / lead, with the foot switch.
The rglages:

- SETTING THE prgain postgain for overdrive and the overdrive sound.

UTILIZATION

SOUNDS

A clear good quality double or single well micro transcribed from snapping in the high and round in the bass, so the versatility, all you need with a LAG Prestige (or Master in 2007) that can splitter micro double or single.
The overdrive is perfect for the slide (good attack and DEFINITIONS) or more gnralement to a blues-rock genre. It is a bit tight for fans of big sound and a more biting in overdrive pedals will srement ncessaire.
HP 18 "gives a surplus of prsence DEFINITIONS and better bass but the HP 4 x 10" more than enough for a "normal" use.

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for 14 years with its original sound or light crunch. It is really nice for blues.
For me the quality price ratio compared to more expensive amps relatively, is a good thing.. Everyone can not afford to have boutique amp sounds. So if your strapped for cash and want a good quality tone and a versatile amp, this is a good choice.
