Tube preamp (12AX7 4) two channels (one light - a soft and saturated overdrive) made in japan (gray). There is a purple version manufactured in the USA.

2 outputs on the rear
A rear panel footswitch input (required to move from one channel to another)

each channel has its own settings:

Gain - Bass - Mid - Treble - volume

The clean channel has a switch in + bright for a more typed Fender

10/10 to deserve it lacks a rear panel guitar input, a channel switch on the front panel connectivity noon to change both the channel and control a multi-effects

but why just go to the upper model x99 and co.

UTILIZATION

Config that sounds very simple and whatever the setting (the entire race potentiometers can be used musically speaking)

The clean channel is both warm and detailed. the bright switch plays its role without any aggressiveness

nel is the creamy, warm and rich: each note is clearly audible and the sound is less than a slobbering marshall JCM800 while allowing to have a little more gain.

SOUNDS

the preamp is very versatile and can go from jazz to heavy saturation. Only NuMetal does not suit him but it can be done without any worries and perming hair dyed blond for hard times of 80's or 90's. Most reviews say it sounds good regardless of the power amp connected behind. For my part I use a Marshall tube amp (EL34) and it sounds really great.

OVERALL OPINION

Some may accuse him of not being able to be switched to midi but frankly if you are looking for a good 2 channel preamp lime, defined and articulated, jump at the chance because they are much cheaper than the boogies and sound crazy.
