Behringer B-Control BCA2000
Published on 12/29/04 at 15:00The BCA2000 is extremely versatile - all kinds of inputs and outputs, anything you might need. Also, it has an invisible mic preamp, and a noise gate + limiter. It's loaded!
The software drivers, they suck. They aren't very stable. This isn't a huge problem, more like a pain in the ass. I got it to work, it just took a while. For help with the drivers, check out this little guide i made: http://www.angelfire.com/goth/subjecttochange/BCA2000.html

Built like a tank, really heavy duty. I own a Behringer Eurorack as well, which fell about eight feet during a show and not only survived, it stayed on through the rest of the set!! Well Built
This is a really nice interface. If you put some effort into installing the driver, (look at my guide) things will be fine. Don't be discouraged by the other reviews. If this was stolen i'd have to get another one.

Price paid: £150
UTILIZATION
Compared to the Pro Control 24 about as easy as opening your eyes.

OVERALL OPINION
It is well built but wouldn't withstand constant abuse. I thought mine was faulty because the back panel was live but apparently it earths throught the USB cable, weird.
I love this thing because it works. It does exactly what it does on the tin for a killer price. Theirs a lot to be said for that.

My computer config is Celeron 2.5 GHz PC with 246Mo of RAM.
I made one of Cubase (no NCESS then moult to own entries!)
UTILIZATION
Installation: Tlcharger the last driver in beta and connection to USB port and go!
What strikes first is the simplicity of use (the diodes are a big plus in ergonomics).
The manual is quite clear but would MRIT more explanation on the implementation of the map over configuration (it does just that to explain the function of each button ...)/

The drivers seem correct, Behringer announced a new dj set day soon! we obtain a near-zero latency.

Assets:
+ Price
+ It's mouth
+ Happiness to handle large potentiomtres + diodes
+ Connectivity varies (MIDI, analog, numrique, alim phantom XLR, 2 headphone jacks with volume indpendant ....)
+ The 24-bit 96 Hz, low latency
+ Sound warm and plutt Fidler
Cons:
- Trs not stable (I will certainly add it ptites rubber soles ...)
- Connections that are made by derrire (except guitar and headphones)

This product is currently not available for sale in the United States and Canada pending verification of compliance with applicable technical standards and regulations. The BCA2000 is a Windows® XP-compatible high-speed USB 2.0 multi-channel audio MIDI control interface. It provides a control surface with 100-mm faders for audio MIDI sequencing, and it also features a high-performance analog input section that has 2 studio-grade IMP “Invisible” Mic Preamps with +48 V phantom power, plus line and Hi-Z guitar inputs. Combine this with its versatile digital input and output formats like ADAT®, ADAT® S/MUX, AES/EBU and S/PDIF (including DOLBY DIGITAL® and DTS® options) and you have an unlimited array of interfacing capabilities. You can simultaneously use 3 analog input sources (1 mono + 1 stereo) with digital input sources. Its input/output configuration is supported by a comprehensive LED audio routing indicator plus button (status) LEDs. Input signal distortion and A/D converter overload are prevented by the adjustable studio-grade analog input dynamic control (noise gate + limiter). The BCA2000’s USB/MIDI interface with 1 MIDI input and 2 MIDI outputs is individually selectable for 16/32 MIDI channels. Plus, full multi-channel playback is enabled at 24-bit/96 kHz. There is a high-resolution 2 x 12 element LED level indicator for stereo In/Out signals plus 2-element LED level indicator for input and output channels 3 through 8. The high-speed USB 2.0 interface with 24-bit/96 kHz supports 8 In & 8 Out channels simultaneously (analog and digital) with low-latency ASIO 2 and WDM drivers. Simply connect your B-CONTROL to your computer via high-speed USB 2.0. Then connect your keyboard, guitar and mic.
