I was looking for a USB audio interface with digital microphone input 1, 1 instrument input and 2 line inputs. All under 200 EUR.
With 2 mic inputs, entry instruments and 4 line inputs, the Lexicon Omega is perfect for my use.

The two mic inputs have dbx preamp with phantom power, I believe transparent.
The instrument input is in parallel to the input line 3. So that when my device is connected, the line input is inactive. This is not serious, but we need to know.

The interface allows you to record 4 of these 6 ways simultaneous inputs. Choice of two.

Without beings connected to a computer, the interface can be simple mixer, each with its own input diposant volume knob.

UTILIZATION

4 tracks can be recorded simultaneously.

Audio in Logic, I work with a buffer of 512 samples (24.4 msecs) but can drop below 10 msecs no problem for the interface.
The interface has direct monitoring required.

Automatic recognition. No driver installation required.
Very stable. No worries.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it daily for over 2 years.

This is my first digital audio interface. Previously, I went out of my console directly into the line input of the sound card's internal computer.

The price / quality ratio is simply excellent, given the number of available inputs.
I remake that choice without hesitation.

I particularly appreciate the input microphones and instrument input on the front panel.
I like a little less noisy knobs manipulation.

The advantage of this card is good preamp is great I think
on the other hand should not be expected to do extraordinary things with, ideal for making voice and instruments

The Lexicon Omega was on the first full portable bundles that I had for my laptop about 5 years ago. It is a 8 channel USB interface that has 2 XLR mic preamps and 4 TRS inputs. It does have MIDI in and MIDI out plus it comes with a copy of Cubase LE. You can use this interface on your PC or your Mac computer and it cost less than 200 dollars. The Omega’s preamp is not as quiet as the preamp on the Lexicon Alpha, but the latency is a lot lower on the Omega then it is on the Alpha. I know that Omega is a older interface but I will take it any day over the Alpha (which is the newer one).

UTILIZATION

Setting up the Omega is simple and it can really work in any of your programs that you use. I have used the Omega in about 5 different DAW programs and it worked great with each one of them. You can record multiple tracks simultaneously. It is very simple to use and all of the main functions are right on the main panel of the interface which makes it easy to use.

The drivers are stable, but because it is an older unit you will need to make sure you download some of the newer drivers from the Lexicon site. This is where you might run into some problems because this unit came out in like 2007. There have been many changes in OS over the last 5 to 6 years and it was not designed to run on newer systems and computers. But some of the Alpha drivers could very well work for it if you cannot find any new drivers for Omega.

OVERALL OPINION

I am very happy to have used this interface years ago. I no longer own it but it was worth every penny of what it cost when it first came out. I would still buy it again if I needed to , that’s how good it was!

I wanted a sound card with multiple entry a relatively correct. there was audio or M but unfortunately they can offer very entrance so my choice was the 4 input with 2 XLR preamp insert the DBX good quality (for the price).

I used to but recovered 8 tracks of multi Fostex D80 8 tracks have so very nice individual to capture repeat or make a chtit mixes of our songs.

Occasionally to give her my heat I go through the insert with a lamp and a preamp sounds. (For an amateur)

UTILIZATION

I do not dwell on the side use because there is nothing complicated about this sound card you turn the knobs and it rolls.

The only downside I would say it is well configured on the PC there will stall concerns personally I do not have Acid Pro I use for mixing and not ProTools and Cubase and other ... latency in I not exceed 20 ms because I also realigned the ear to give a more human side than digital. (Matter of taste).

OVERALL OPINION

So my advice for small purses and especially now occasion it is not very expensive I advise to make small models clean and friendly.

But I made the first sound recording with, and I still have so it does not fall down I keep.

what I like most is the magnable side of the card, but the height rectangular, not flat like many of them. It has access to the knobs easily and visually correct.

the BMOL is the XLR connection on the back, two in facade would have been nice.

The Lexicon Omega Recoding Studio was an all in one studio that came with Cubase, after using this setup for a while I had to upgrade, for some reason I fell out of love with it. Mainly because I really didn’t like using Cubase for my recordings. I have used Cubase for other parts of my music but I hate recording in Cubase, then when I would try to use the Lexicon Omega Studio interface in another one of my DAW's on my pc it wouldn’t work correctly. This was a major problem , and it kept me constricted to just using it with Cubase so I was forced to get rid of it, but a good buddy of mine didn’t have an interface so I pretty much just gave it to him. At this point it was an older piece of gear anyways and I didn’t care about selling it so I gave it away and it worked great for him because he was just getting into music and really wanted to start with Cubase and work his way up.


UTILIZATION

I think with everything that you get with this package makes it worth the money spent. Cubase is a great program to have especially if you are going to be producing music, but if you are recording and going to mix your songs I don’t suggest using Cubase. The interface itself is pretty good though, its not very well built and couldn’t take much wear and tear but the quality that you will get is very nice.


GETTING STARTED

It has ultra low latency so there are not gaps in time while recording or at least to the naked ear. You wont be able to hear the latency at all. There are not really any interfaces that don’t have latency anyways so its as close as you can get to zero latency.


OVERALL OPINION

It is worth the buy, but only if you want work with Cubase. When trying to use this interface in other digital audio workstations and programs it will cause some problems down the road.

The Lexicon Omega Studio bundle was one of the first bundles that I actually bought and used. I had it in my first year of college years ago. It was one of the cheapest (priced) setups that I could get so I could do recording right from my dorm room. I really didn’t know what to expect getting this bundle and I didn’t read any reviews or anything before I purchased it. I just saw a cheap bundle plus I had a online coupon code so I used that and I got it really cheap during a time when I was looking for a small set up to record with.

Since it was my first time really recording myself, I ran into some small issues just with how to set everything up and how to actually record and over dub and all that good stuff. But those where just issues from it being my first time, so after I worked out those problems I got right to recording.

Some of the things I really like about it was it was really easy just to open the program and drag the instrumental in and press record and that was it, nice and quick and easy. I really had no knowledge of actually mixing or anything so all that stuff didn’t matter to me. I don’t really think it would have been to hard to get a good mix in Lexicon Studio. I just didn’t know how to do it. I also loved how fast the program opened up. Unless pro tools which is what I use now it takes time to get it to open. I no longer have Lexicon Omega Studio I sold it on eBay a few years ago and upgraded. One bad thing about this bundle is the mic is really cheap. You could probably get the same quality from a wal mart mic that comes on a karaoke machine..

And now almost one month I have this "little box".

I will not go into technical dtails the number of I / O, the number of channels it can process at the same time and so on. The manufacturer does trs well.

UTILIZATION

At the installation of all is a dconcertante ease. just follow the installation manual and all goes without crashing.

Intgration with the software: I had the opportunity to test the Omega with Cubase SX, Wavelab, Samplitude 6 & 7 no problem anywhere. I am waiting for a Pyramix Native and should be interesting.
But given the price what more this little wonder the quality Lexicon Fidler and moreover makes the United States, a guarantee of srieux.

OVERALL OPINION

Let's talk about the quality of sound, the DAC AD / DA I think trs are neutral and the same goes for good quality analog inputs.

The supplied software is obviously good, but I'm not going Retailer because I have not had time to take control srieusement.

When even a minor complaints, the lack of a FireWire output.

But given the price what more this little wonder the quality Lexicon Fidler and moreover makes the United States, a guarantee of srieux.

UTILIZATION

I have not personally tested under Win, but one of my collgues did without problem.
As for installing Mac, the real difficulty is the lack of clarity of the manual and CD. APRs have lost 20 minutes searching for how to install the driver, I glimpse the card in fact silent gre natively by OS X and no driver n'tait required.

However, both Windows and Mac, is a dtail Drout, instead of having one driver for all, there is a driver for 2 Premire between the 2 and one for the following outputs.

The manual installation of the card and the use of rverb are in French and English. More ProTracks manual and the shortcut guide are in English only. As Decker, soft mac, no paper manual. The manuals are clear, although I found one of ProTracks meager when you consider the possibilities of this software. A black dot, it is nowhere mentioned, nor the bote, or on the documents that the indoor plug-in rverb Pantheon only works on software supplied with or Se Deck for Mac and PC ProTracks Plus, a lack of clarity that I find limiting.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two months as an interface between my numrique DM-24 and my Mac, also tries to analog.

I particulirement:

- The function sample rate converter in digital (useful sometimes).
- In case of crash of the computer interface continues to direct the sound to Stereo outputs if the monitoring is in direct mode (you can connect a DAT into analog output for security.
- The direct monitoring or return machine (possibility of mixing between the two).
- The interface can operate only as a phantom prampli micro, or D / A converter (not vice versa) or as mini rgy with 4 analog inputs and between numrique (not adjustable). Can dpanner in case of failure.
- PC software, full trs (actually a version of Sonar Allgemeine).
- The quality of pramplis and converters.

I dislike:

- No on / off switch (unplug it must be).
- The quality dplorable XLR connections (can not bring out the plug on one of two entered without disassemble the interface). We can solve the problem permanently leaving short branches 2 Cables.
- The plug-in rverbration brid with the original software without it being prcis.
- Mac software, Deck SE, which I find absolutely anti-friendly and limited compared trs Pro Tracks Plus.

Report qualitprix trs good, not perfect, of course, but I will make adjustments Lexicon, I'm sure.

I think I made the right choice. But for mac, purchase of software needed supplmentaire my opinion.

I intended to use a sound card with a lot of external 1: Free tracks on my mixer in live (in addition to a prmixage thanks to potentiomtres upstream of the table mixing). 2: record in home studio or "nomad" with pramplis of quality. 7n400Pro2 Gigabyte motherboard (nvidia chipset), Athlon XP2600 + processor, 1 GB DDR RAM 2700, a 120 GB Seagate hard drive and another 40GB Western Digital.
As part of the live I use two audio inputs (XLR) outputs for the effects processor VampPro and two MIDI ports to change when ncessaire from the pc config Vamp. To exit I use both audio jack ports as symtriques j'insre in both analog in the Mia noon.
As part of the record "nomadic" I use absolutely all the entries and I noted the excellent performance of pramplis ansi the usefulness of-10db pad and power supply fantme .

UTILIZATION

Well, installation is simple, despite a history homrique (re pr Asian-driver). Since the appearance of asio drivers on the manufacturer's website incompatibilities are gone and I can use in my case Omga with an internal card in the PC MiaMIDI while mixing with Cubase SX2.
Gnrale configuration, with respect to the PC, not a ncessite lgre complication namely disable the Mac drivers and activate the windows drivers in the panel "management priph AMERICAS / avancquot; of windows.
The manual is well documented on the manufacturer's website you can find a variety of configurations depending on the interface squenceur uses.

The drivers are "finally" stable. The last update is trsrcente, met with the manufacturer to stabilize the asio problem with windows. I use Cubase SX2, Reason 2.5 Live3, Acid 4.0.
Latency somewhat dcevante (80 90 ms) offset by the fat that I am using an internal sound card Echo MiaMIDI to exit the PC to an analogue desk. So, by not serving me as the OMGA I take to record the quality of Lexicon hardware while bnficiant the quick calculation of Mia. Given my config 'pc say that I can get a number of tracks 16 noon (VST plug ins) and 32 audio tracks.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it daily for a month. I like the quality of the hardware, we feel that the manufacturer is a professional in the contents (a sound like a toy like others). The USB1.1 connection seems low compared to the Firewire, but cel may justify the reasonable price of the card.
I tried 6 diffrent sound cards (in the studio and home studio) with prestigious (Motu, Digidesign) and frankly it has not ashamed of its performance.
Submitted A problem that the driver is set I would do probably the choice.

I had at least 4 entries for Reduces price, this card was perfect for my home studio. I use a Dell laptop inspiron 1000 256 Super silent RAM and is super stable for the past two months no problem. I find the prampli are (as novice) trs warm.

The instalation is done without worry. I use Cubase SE, but I can not make a run on Adobe audition when I got there.

I use it for 2 months and I'm really happy but I never used the other cards. Considering the price of any fawn can not be that happy ...

- 2 mic and 2 line inputs simultaneously. Only 2 outputs (damage) but enough for me (I do not want to multi-channel). The main advantage of this card is a USB, which allows it to plug into any pc!

This is the my problem: no way to use it to listen to a source deals in real time (eg a branch with a guitar distortion plugin). There is too much latency (it takes rgler buffers loudly so they do not crack).

WHAT DOES LEXICON?

Fortunately, the mix knob lets shuffled sources branches on the card and the sound coming from the software, which lets you record an instrument over other with all the sources in the headphone.

Otherwise read, about 15 ms for the buffers do not crack. It's not gnial.

I bought this interface in the context of DMOS for the two groups which I belong. Not to make an album, but when same-something srieux ...
Before buying, I read tests (Recording ,...), Audiofanzine notices, etc ...
I was looking for the maximum of the lowest prices without sacrificing quality.
I'm working on a Fujitsu laptop Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz, 512 MB DDR and a 40 gigabyte hard drive. I have a Peavey mixing desk, monitors, Samson Resolv 80A, a BLUETUBE DP Alesis compressor, a condenser microphone Samson (the weak link in my string) and I work only with symtriques Cables (I did not dj gear high-end, do not add much noise supplmentaires, right?).

UTILIZATION

The OMGA ncessite do not really have a manual, everything is intuitive and is done in hardware.

I had no problem with installation of the interface itself, only with Windows lcher who did not want my original chipset.

For the rest, turn buttons, and presto!

The drivers are stable, but for now never given day since I (one year).
I use Cubase SX2, and by making some compromises (the button OMGA possde a mix direct signal / signal line for monitoring, I put it on 1 / 3 line 2 / 3 non line), I can play guitar live with Amplitube, provided that no more than 3 or 4 tracks Prior). For an interface with no DSP, it seems honnte .

I record 4-track analog simultanment without ever having had any problem.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year. 3 DMOS and I did a live recording.

The converters are of excellent quality and super pramplis DBX. I only records "that" in 48 Khz, and yet I have a sound that is that some of my friends who are 96 kHz (taking into account that the comparison is done on the hardware similar to mine, in acoustically untreated spices, etc etc etc ...)

The inserts allow me to use an external compressor, the power supply fantme is impeccable, the Casing respectable.

I have only one problem: for about a month, I have a big spitting in the right speaker when I turn the volume knob gnral. Gnant ...

My goal is to pass a Motu, or RME, but if I had to buy an easy to use and powerful for € 300, I would do without this choice hsiter ...

I bought this Interface to have a affordable solution to track audio to my computer at a reasonable quality. I paired this interface up with a Studio Projects C1 and used Adobe Audition to do my multi-tracking. For the price I would say this is a pretty nice unit. The preamps are useable but not exciting, and I was able to get some decent vocal cuts out of this unit. In this price range, I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants a portable and easy way to get started in recording;however, if you want to get serious about your music, you will probably want to step up to something a little higher end.




After much research I decided to purchase the Omega instead of jumping up into the price range of the Firepod. For this price range, the sound is great and it can record 4 analog inputs at once when almost everything else around $300 can only do 2. Wish it had an on/off switch - you have to unplug it to turn it off. But I like controlling and monitoring the levels from the unit as opposed to an on-screen interface. If you don't need to record more than 4 tracks at a time, I would recommend this unit.

This program is for the beginner, don’t expect to be able to do anything near what you can do in pro tools or other recording systems. This will hold you back big time, but if you are just looking for something cheap to get started with it might work for you. But if you arent a beginner do not purchase this. You will feel like you cant do everything you need to do and you will come up short. The software that comes with it is not too good at all. I wouldn’t even attempt to try and mix in this program. You mix would sound terrible.

I buy this card in order to make the computer music and record my components through a Guitard, bass or copper. And see, go live
This card is USB2, Odin on which it operates, to 1GB of RAM, a rather powerful processor. Finally nikel for this card and make the sound.

Unfortunately, a year after she made that plant. I use Ableton Live and Reason. Deja every time I run Ableton Live. Big Beug, the sound is awful, should automatically change the buffer (not many, you just change them, otherwise it will not work) for reavoir sound normal, and this for every start of Ableton Live. OVERALL OPINION

It'll be a little over two years. So I think in time, this card is useless. Now I am afraid to sound and lose everything. It's impossible to puff with a map to sort. I have a buddy to EMU 1616m, which is more than two years, and at least there is no bug. Even when knowing that at that time, I paid the card the same price as his. So the know, USB2, not cool at all. As having a PCI card connected to a sound card, or then Firewire is about.
Quality / price ratio (buy 2 years ago: 420 €): Completely null. I understand why they lowered the price for all the rotten stuff ....
With experience, I will soon buy another card when I have a little under (choose one RME, at least, one is on his shot, even if more expensive) and I'll quickly throw this sound card in the window (see burned at the stake so she gave me a cable peter!)
