Apprhender easy (even for beginners), really cheap (watch prices fluctuate according to sellers normment sites), and it's Novation !!!

Manufacturing & materials are of good quality (for the price) in relation to other cards to rack formats here point knob wobbly, wobbly of connectors, the unnecessary step of widgets eye ... The nio 2 | 4 remains sober and robust (There even when some LED VU meters for in-out, but they remain apprciables).

My config (both XP DDI):

Notebook: TOSHIBA / Intel Dual-Core T3400 / 3GB DDR2 / 250GB HDD

Fixed PC: Intel Dual-Core E8400 + Zalman CNPS9700 / CM Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R / DD 2X Samsung SpinPoint T series 250GB / 3GB DDR2 Corsair DDR800 / Fortron Blue Storm 500W

USE

Be careful when installing the driver, in principle I will always look for the latest issue driver on the manufacturer website rather than taking the available driver on the CD. Alas during my first use my master keyboard n'tait not recognized, a priori setup available on the website does not Novation Midi integrates the drivers so I had to load the CD driver to correct shooting.

Apart from this small problem, the set turns immediately after instal drivers, the manual is clear (manual pdf format).

IMPLEMENTATION

This card is perfect for mobile use with a laptop and integrates perfectly within a lil studio. I use it in both cases and it largely takes the road !!!

I use Sonar 8 PE & Ableton Live 7 and nio 2 | 4 runs without any problem, at the moment I have not had any stall or artifacts, yet I have some projects with multiple tracks & effects VST plug & Concurrent ... I use two micro-electrostatic (I connect the second microphone via an external 48v power supply jack in between), and several instruments (electric & scratches sche , violin, clarinet, drums ...) and a master keyboard to the south.

The built-multi-effect is rather well done, but in the same area known softwares offer more presets and sharper modlisations ... The pramps are clear and relatively neutral (the 48v strongly apprciable but available on only one between), the monitoring system is well done and the two headphone outputs with hardware mix indpendants are more undeniable !!!

Level latency no concern that remains inaudible (even though it still loaded but must have a good config) without touching the buffers ...

NOTICE GLOBAL

Overall nio 2 | 4 is a range of perfect card for those who do not want to deceive the eye and gas plant. It possde arguments that blushing other competing (often more expensive) in the same range !!!

I do it again without hsiter choice.

The packaging is not bad to know: Bass Station, Guru, Arturia Analog Factory and Ableton Live Lite 6.

Easy to install, great performance, but not easy to use for novices and rgler ... it took me 4 days intensive to manipulate + or-well, adjust and understand a little better.

It is a gift so I chose not. I have been offered to compensate for the sound card on my laptop. It 5623WSMI Acer XP with 2gig of memory and dual Intel T5500.

UTILIZATION

Instal nickel.
The card is easy to configure and French manual is rather full (but in pdf).

The drivers are rather stable, I never planted with Acid. I was cracking after loaded vsti (korg legacy among others) but it was just bad settings (DAW in 44100Hz 48000Hz and Nio in ...). With samples it tolerates some thirty tracks with effects.
And amp simulation and effects: terrible. Its deadly, powerful, clear ... And usable vst, recording pre and post ... Of the ball ... There are mode standalone vst settings and vice CERSA.
Mechanically, it is beefy, these knobs are just as resistant and requires ideal weight to avoid slipping (anti-slip material underneath) but be moved without weighing it down.

OVERALL OPINION

It is a gift so I chose not but I think it's a very good choice! Thank you bro!
I use it for six months and I found a rather complete and well done. It a bit complex at first but then we appreciate its many settings and options. And the sound!
Quality / price ratio, if I look at the price in stores I would say very good. This is the same as NOVATION.
Pros: novation bass station comes with live 6 lite + (upgradeable to 7 gratos lite) + other things ...

I chose this card because of its price is very attractive to 4 outputs and also manages the South.
It lacks an on / off button but it's a detail.
Manufacturing is serious and superb finish.
I use it with a guitar input and the Cakewalk Music Creator software (44 € chez Thomann) to give me the backing-tracks that I load from the site of Goran.
My config is an old PC with a Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz

The installation went without any problems and simplicity unmatched.
The manual is a little too short but it comes out without problems.

There are many switches and pots on the box and this causes many trial and error before finding the right setting.

I've had too little time to give you a definitive opinion.
What I like least is the lack of on / off button but it's a detail.
For the price (164 € chez Thomann) I have not found better. I hesitated with Guitar Rig Mobil that seemed better in modeling but I do not regret my choice.
Without hesitation I would do this choice because for the price I have an interface with 2 inputs and 4 outputs, management of the south of amp models and effects.
There is no digital output but to have it more expensive.
The Novation Nio 2 / 4 is the best choice.

This is my second, so the unique features at this price nothing new to me ..
Mobile use with a portable base, 2G ° RAM, HDD 160G ° and dual core Intel CPU 2.4.
A guitar, a microphone either XLR or 6.35 depending on the cable taken.

UTILIZATION

No need to update the drivers are super stable. I only use 16 tracks on sequencers.
The result provided is excellent (Xcite Focusrite and Novation, which includes Ableton Live Lite, BFD (drums), GURU, samples, etc. ..) Also it is equipped with an FX processor of good quality (requires Novation ) modular and managed from the start. It is recognized by many traditional sequencers such as Cubase and others.
As for the latency: 2 ms on a laptop that is royal.

Classic and simple installation as all interfaces, USB cable (supplied) and Cd drivers: to point: it is ready for the guitar thanks to its processor! The configuration may confuse a beginner, but it remains simple, the manual is in French and clear. Pdf on the CD. Only software suite are in English except Ableton. there are videos on the Web that enable quick mastery of the "beast".
I have not encountered any incompatibility.

OVERALL OPINION

In fact the last two and a half years and I'm really happy, it's a step in the computer music, the Home Studio and the studio, because small, it has everything a grande.Bien course I tried other models, but for my use, it remains one of my favorites in this price range.

very stable. Caution, however, properly handle the recording settings in Ableton. The doc is not explicit enough elsewhere.
But once settled, it works with the fire of God.
Ableton is great I think (I know Goldwave, Audacity)
Version of Ableton however limited number of recording tracks.

No particular problem. The connections are many, instrument input, mic input, headphone jacks, midi, etc..
The manual could be improved. I find it very unclear and lacking in detail especially in relation to the use of what comes with Ableton.


OVERALL OPINION

I have been using far not one year. I tried a recording station which operated in BR600 hair but it was heavy to manage audio files. Here is editable online, in short easily compress bcp more versatile.
What I like least is the instructions for use and lack of explanations.
It is a very good material. I do not regret my purchase. Ideal for recording a guitar with only internal microphone + microphone cover, ideal for recording vocals + instrument at the same time.
I remake that choice without hesitation
