No, but without laughing, very fast installation, no problem on Windows XP with Cubase SE3 LE and cubes.

Personal I have a core 2 duo E8400 with a RME card hdsp9632 and 4 GB of ram so it runs (Cubase SX3 to be the "drag and drop" in EZdrummer.

OVERALL OPINION

I used Groove Agent for several years (1), I tested the two recently, however I find that 2 brings very little, except to be able to swap instruments every ..

but after having tasted EZdrummer recently ... I will let wahhhh groove agent, at the variety of quality beats, plus it's almost as fast to create a patern battery by hand using EZdrummer as dialing a rhythm groove agent (when it registers rhythm live in cubase (RW) with GA.

So I recommend serious personal EZdrummer!

Regarding the installation I had some small problems with cubase but nothing too serious.

PIV 3Ghz, MOTU 2408 MK3, 1GB of RAM. It turns nickel, resource consumption is reasonable. When should I think even without 2GB of RAM ... No crash yet.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought the DFH suprior Yadji it some time. It is something standard, high quality trs everyone agrees. When I saw this EZDrummer, I thought a toy. Took me much harm. For those who do not have a real drummer and want to make a model or album of the DFH quality will be better, but with a standard amount of work derrire. While the sound was right away. Fabulous. For me the big advantage is fun and made with a battery-mail. This is less than the DFH raliste, but what fun! What rponse! I really redcouvre my Roland TD3! The inconvnient on the other hand and if everyone uses it, everyone has the same drum sound rendering is so flattering. Another advantage, not least, it sounds right now, as I say, so no need to mix (as opposed to DFH) and suddenly, big power economy.

No problem with the installation or compatibility issues with Cubase SX 3. The manual is quite useless since the software is extremely easy to use. That's all its interest in a BFD: the software seems designed for musicians rather than the sound engineer (we do not take the head with the opposite phase, for example, as in BFD).

I use Windows XP on a Dell XPS 420 with a sound card PreSonus FireBox and 4 GB of RAM. I never had any crashes due to software or any performance problem. Note that loading a drum kit, you should stop playing the current track in Cubase to accelerate the process.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for my models for almost a year and what I like most is the relative simplicity / realism of the software: just with the bank base, there is plenty to do.

On the audio side, via a small mixer internally, it can easily redirect the output audio sound and then work in the console of the sequencer. It is far more simple than BFD and other less demanding too. The consideration of this non-greed, it is obviously that the sounds are not as detailed as in BFD or DFH big: it makes it particularly relies on the cymbals where you would sometimes have more different samples to manage the whole dynamic of the instrument. It will be embarrassing in pieces where the battery is present (one Walking on the moon with the game of Copland, for example) but in 3 / 4 pieces, it will not be a problem of realism, especially if the 'we use MIDI grooves included with the soft, very well planned in general. I come to the only real disappointment of software: the MIDI file browser. Since the files are named to sleep outside and in the absence of a manager worthy of the name (with advanced search engine, ability to annotations, etc..), It often goes for ages looking for a groove-like to what one has in mind. The Toontrack EZ Player Pro may be correct that, but for now, we must admit that the system tree is far from practical.

Finally, it sounds much better than that Groove Agent is more evolved side of the metronome. Installation is fairly laborious (I own the boxed version), we begin by installing the contents of the DVD (1GB of data is reasonable given the quality of the software).

I use the VST on a PC with Reaper I3 processor with 4GB of ram, windows 7, nothing to report at the level of performance on a multitrack project rocker (guitar / bass / vocals / drums), it turns completely done properly and I have seen no drop.

OVERALL OPINION

I am using EZdrummer only a few days, I bought the VST to replace the battery pack "studio instruments" from Native Instruments, too limited and synthetic.

With this I finally found the VST realistic drum sounds with a bass drum and toms that do not sound like cardboard. This battery is recommended to register a Pop / Rock but it sounds so powerful enough to be used on projects much more heavy.

For 100 euros is a good buy given the advanced features (humanization of the game, number of samples ...) proposed, it fits naturally into a serious home studio.

It's a very simple plugin to install and get running on your computer. There is just one disc, pop it in, install it, and then run it. It will ask you to authorize it which is easy - but for me hard. I got my copy free with an MPD24 and then didn't have my authorization code for all the expansion that came with. Their support was pretty bad so they actually forced me to get them from a torrant. (not condoning downloading warez software) Anyway other than that little hiccup I'm sure everyone else will not have a problem installing this plugin.

It's a very simple interface. One screen and then a mixer. You will learn the interface in a day.

It's actually very light on my CPU. It's surprising because of the sound quality but it's true. I've been using it for over a year with a 2.0GHz Dual core 2GB RAM Gateway that isn't even for music. So for a music computer EZdrummer will be very light. I use Windows XP. I use a midi controller with EZ Drummer and they intergrate pretty well. Sometimes I'll find that one of the sounds I can generate by clicking on the GUI of the plugin is not mapped to my 61 keyboard and there isn't a midi learn function that I know of yet so I'm just forced to record it from clicking on the GUI which is a pain.

OVERALL OPINION

I love the sound quality. This really is the best acustic drum kit simulation. Every expansion is quality. The claustrophobic kit is great for hip hop and so is the pop / rock kit. I have even found the 2 funk kits and the jazz useful. The way the sounds fit into beats is phenomenal.

Since it's such a simple plugin there isn't much room for error and that's why there aren't many. The plugin isn't perfect as I've listed some glitches above but overall it's great. I'd definatly make the choice again and I'm even looking forward to buy moring expansions for the plugin. ToonTrack really made a quality product.

Simpler and more ergonomic than BFD for my taste ....

Installation simple and tasty, simple setup. Choper good sound requires a little knowledge of miking drums, there is real repisse between the microphones, a real atmosphere is not trivial, but you can easily get something that farts.

I used several years Groove Agent II and I found its sound too flat and unrealistic. EZD is perfect realism side of the battery by the fineness of the samples, the implementation with MIDI sequences provided is very simple but it is even easier to steer by GAII EZD MIDI and it works!
