FM is cool
Published on 07/15/12 at 23:56Native Instruments FM 7 is very easy to use and to understand you wont need a manual nor will you have any issues running it with your system no matter what system you have. I have ran it on macs and pc’s and have seen it work on some really old systems before. I still have FM 7 and still use it, I havent really felt the need to upgrade it, I purchased it when it first came out and have been using it every since then. I only thought about upgrading one time and that was because they had some sale going on but I didn’t do it. I am very happy with FM 8 and probably wont upgrade untill they put out like FM 11 or so.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
Set up is easy and every thing is pretty much automatic, you wont have any issues installing or running it on your machine as long as you have a decent amount of ram you should be ok, if it installs correctly on your system then you wont have any issues with it freezing or messing up in the middle of your session. I have used it in about 3 different daws and it hasn’t caused a problem in any of them.
OVERALL OPINION
I am glad to say that I have been using FM 7 for all these years, and I have it to the point where I have all of my own sound banks now. I no longer even touch any of the presets I have all of my own presets that I have built over the years and I am very happy with them. I have even uploaded some of my presets online so other people can use them and all I get is thanks. FM 7 has worked great for me, and once you get the hang of it you will be creating your own presets too.

Native Instruments work for me
Published on 04/26/12 at 20:58The FM7 by native instruments came in a bundle pack that I purchased from them. At first glance after running it as a plug in, I was a little confused own how to manipulate the presets and make them my own. But after messing around with it for a bit I had no issues. I ran it on a dual core system running windows xp. I haven't had a single crash with it. Also, it will update itself if you have internet connection and open up the update section. All you have to do is make sure the serial number is in and click on update and it will do it automatically.

As I stated , I had no issues getting it up and running. It took a little longer than expected to load into my computer. But maybe that’s because its such a big program and it comes with a lot of presets and options that any music maker would love. It has doesn’t push my cpu too much, because some plug ins will over due it and make your system crackle and pop. But I had no issues even when not using ASIO drivers.
Overall, FM 7 is a great virtual synth plug in, I have been using it since 2009 and I love Native Instruments. I have since purchased a lot of their other plug ins and virtual synths. You cant go wrong with FM 7you will love the presets and you can change them and make them your own and even save them and give them a new name since you basically created them . When you purchase FM7 you will be setting a good foundation for your collection of synths and sounds. Though, I am not a big fan of a lot of the basses though, they just don’t have the thickness that I like. But besides though everything else is perfect.

I still use it today on scne honntement I did not find the equivalent sound level employees with current synths! It's true that it has no frills but with some effects in the ass it sounds fabulous.
But then he gets older and I'm afraid of failure (I even internal battery and battery ram the cartridge home, incredible!)
FM7 and the food is for me one of oxygne.
So I try the famous soft, I rcupre my sounds in sysex and rinjectent in FM7.
For the control, of course what better than my DX7 II!
Premire slap, the sound is identical! Well a bit poor as dx! but the DX7 II possde a performance mode that allows you to select two sounds together and among other CRER a pseudo Stereo and has the advantage of sounding unlike the DX7 simple.
The FM7 is not the DX7 emulator performance but with some alterations and added Submitted effect in it, it sounds better than my DX7 II! Wow, second slap!
Incredible, it's the same but better. Also I had to touch the FM programming for ages (I've spent months over the era) and I feel not to have never left. Good is always complex, but the FM program with a small LCD screen with 2 lines of DX from the FM7, there are more photos!
And with hundreds of sound banks in sysex for the DX can be found on the net
it is easier (and advice) to leave its existing dun change his desire to try to program Z to A!
Troisime slap (DCID warms my cheek!), I triturated some sounds and it sounds annalogique! I believe that the approach n'tait not possible with the FM! royal
Ben here I hit the audio outputs of DX7 II and I are off again for 15 years! (J'espre lol)
- Installation is no problem it?
No problem to install, a pleasure!
- Have you encountered any incompatibilities?
No no
- The configuration gnrale is easy?
Yes trs simple
- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
yes but it's clear trs synthse FM and tame it is another story!
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
- What is the configuration of your computer? (Motherboard / CPU / RAM / disk / sound card ..)
Laptop, Pentium 4 2.66
1GB of ram
Edirol UA 1000 audio
XP PRO
- The software runs he correctly on this configuration?
Trs Well, I think he should run well on a lot of config so it uses fewer resources
- What is performance? (If quantifiable)
Superb even with multiple instances open
- This software + hardware configuration is stable?
Trs stable
OVERALL OPINION
- How long have you use it?
3 months
- What is the particular feature you like best and least?
The least? nothing! If may be, I well liked that it also contains a performance mode that dcuple its possibilities (though just open two instances but longer to program sounds!)
The most? all, I found exactly but better my DX7 II FM and programming if it is complex, the approach is greatly facilitated with the FM7.
- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
There is no equivalent
- How do you report qualitprix?
Some would say it is a bit expensive compared to a DX7 good chances but it sounds better, so it's a software s'amliorera I think with future versions as opposed to dx and not fear the down!
Now if I compare the 15,000 francs that cost me (yes!) The DX7 II ben the app is really cheap
- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...
Plutt twice that!
More with banks of sounds for DX7 sysex available online and in FM7 rcuprable
Well it does not suffer from a lack of sound!
Note: I forgot to add, but the sound volume to an FM7 is supplied with the software.See less20 - AnonymousPublished on 11/07/04 at 12:38 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Installation: no quick and easy installation problem when we used materials Native instruments

Oh yes.11 - moosersPublished on 02/26/09 at 11:10The Native Instruments FM7 virtual synth was easy to install and easy to get up and running as I had no compatibility issues with my machine. The interface of the synth is pretty easy to follow, and the presets make for some great sounds that you can choose quick and easy. There is also a great deal of control over these presets as well as the ability to create your own sounds. I don't have a manual for this so I can't speak to how helpful it is or not.

I am running the FM7 on a Mac Book Pro that has a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB of RAM. I am running this mostly with Apple Logic, but also use it as a standalone unit. I have never had a problem running this in either situation, as both are stable. I never run more than one of these, so I don't know how well it would run if you had a bunch of these up at once - it would probably slow your system down as the synth has a lot to it. All in all, I've never had any problems running the FM7.
OVERALL OPINION
I've been using the Native Instruments FM7 for about four years, and they have since come out with the FM8, which I have yet to use. Overall, I think the FM7 is a great sounding virtual synth with a ton of different parameters and presets. It is easy to use once you get the hang of it, and is really a Yamaha DX7 emulator, which is the most famous FM (frequency modulation) based synth made in the mid 1980s. This synth won't cost you too much, especially if you get it within the Komplete bundle. Even if you get it separate from the bundle, it is still a great deal considering how great this sounds and how wide the array of synth sounds you can get from this. For those who want DX7 tones in the box without the hassle of the external keyboard, this is the virtual synth for it.See less00 - FP UserPublished on 10/31/08 at 16:00If u get the extra sound banks.... u have got sounds for YEARS..... its great for leads and background pads

price paid: $150 USD
Again most CCs aren't mapable, so it requires mouse tweaking, which sucks IMO.

It's a soft synth so it all really depends on your processing power, etc. Definitely got good enough sound though.
