There are absolutely no compatibility issues with my Macbook, Logic 9 or Ableton 7.
The manual is clear enough. I have never really played a real B3 so I wanted to learn exactly what every parameter did. It was sufficient enough to make me comfortable on using the interface.
If you are familiar with the workings of a tube organ, than yes, this configuration is simple. If like me, you are not, it takes only a few minutes (1 hour tops) to get very comfortable.
Yes, all the typical functions are easily accessible.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
So far, the VB3 has worked flawlessly. It responds to my DAW and midi boards very well and sounds great too.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
So far, the VB3 has worked flawlessly. It responds to my DAW and midi boards very well and sounds great too.
The VB3 has never crashed on me and has never had a problem instantiating.
I have to give this a 10 out of 10. GSi really knows what they are doing, this thing sounds great and always gets complements when heard.
I have been using this plugin for 6 months.
OVERALL OPINION
The best thing about this plugin as with all GSi plugins, is the superb sound. I have been around B3's enough to know that the plugin is not a real B3. GSi did a fantastic job getting a great sounding organ in my laptop, but nothing will ever compare to the beauty that is a B3. Especially if you have a Leslie cabinet too. Despite all that, this is a great plugin for those like myself who can't afford a B3 yet.
There is nothing I don't like about this plugin. Good Jog GSi.
The sound quality and precision is as close to the real deal as I have ever heard. Logic 9 and Ableton 7 have plugins that are modeled after a B3, but they are no where near the quality that the VB3 is. I also have access to Native Instruments B4. It is hard to decide which is better, the B4 has so many great presets, where the VB3 is lacking. But overall, I find myself drifting towards the VB3 when I want that B3 growl.
I paid $100 for this plugin and I think it is worth every penny.
I would gladly buy this plugin again if I didn't own it already.

I also have a HAMMOND M101 (B3 technology spinet) and NEO INSTRUMENTS VENTILATOR.
So I have comparison.
ROCK use group so mainly support and chorus.
Everything is fine and the sound is really great for me since I wired stereo while:
since I use for my keyboards a small stereo sound (see forum on the subject)

To return to this app, I passed by charlie organ, B4, B4II, Vintage Organs, extension or Hypersonic Hypersonic 2, among others ...
My favorites are B4II and GSI VB3.
I can not say which one I prefer, to be honest I use both in cubase history to have two different conceptions of modeling, but for the stage and also because I'm used to the sound of B4II I did kept the latter.
It still offers more style than the VB3 and also more settings that when we take the time to make them are very effective!
Most of VB3 However emulation is more "realistic" its leslie!
But I still preferred the stage B4II for different models, in terms of sub leslie FORTE 2 and there exists plugins realistic modeling leslie cab so I cut one of my B4 and serves as leslie emulation third insert in the couple + variety of models suited to my purpose in the sense that I am not an organist and on this point I'm just a bare minimum of very good quality!
For other organs is GARBAGE Vintage DIRECT too greedy, not given! The shame! I also liked a lot the organ Charlie but not flexible enough to use ...
Anyway, I still kept Hypersonic 2 (not the organ I assure you) for the appearance of certain sounds lovely voluntarily "CHIP" it can happen again in cubase use in composting projects ... the hypersonic still not for the scene (but it is not no?).
Config sub Forte Scarbee rhodes and wurly other clavinets pianets coupled to VKFX of Overloud B4II with a third party leslie insert, VA Minimogue exellent freeware modeling MOOG, TAL-UNO-60 still modeling freeware JUNO60 (Exellent for bass synth !) and finally Pianoteq small but very effective Plugsound pads for ...
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a few years already, I would do this choice without hesitation is exellent value for money!
Although by the sounds of B4II usual, I am very far from having finished VB3 serve me in the studio, saw the pénuerie "good" hammond organ since the existence of these two exellentes emulation (for their time course. ..)

I have version 1.2.1
- Installing a plugin for basic
- No incompatibilities encountered
- Level configuration, there's everything you need to settle an organ is: Zippers (pedal, lower, upper), percu, chorus / vibrato, overdrive, reverb, Leslie, keyclick, etc ... We can split the keyboard. Note that everything is controlled via MIDI.
Three models of organs are emulated: The B3, a transistor 70's Italian style and the "red Tolex" style 60 years.
- Complete manual
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
- My config: Toshiba laptop 1.6 GHz, 2GB RAM, Sound Card TC Electronic Konnekt 24D

OVERALL OPINION
- I use it for one month in the demo, and I bought it yesterday.
- What I like most? SOUND! When you play you close your eyes and it seems to be to have a Hammond under the fingers. I tested OrganizedTrio I found cheap, then B4II Native Instruments, I liked, but when I tested the VB3, I immediately understood that it surpassed.
In fact, like a Hammond B4II ... while the VB3 reacts like a Hammond! For me it is much closer to reality. A warm, velvety, soft overdrive, yum!
For me, two things really make a difference with the B4, first the attack buttons, which really seems to me more realistic about the VB3, and then I feel that lack of frequencies B4II .. . as if the sound was filtered. Anyway try both, compare and you will understand!
For the other two models emulated (italian and red Tolex Transistor), although it's nice, by the AC is not against those of B4II.
- The ratio Q / P is obviously the best because it is the best clone of Hammond for 49 euros, three times less than B4II which is yet worse.
- So yes I would do this choice!

- Manufacturer: Genuine Soundware / GSi
- Model: VB3
- Category: Virtual Organs
- Added in our database on: 11/14/2009
VB3 is a virtual tonewheel organ which simulates an american electromagnetic organ of the old days, but it's also capable of other simulations like the italian transistor organs of the seventies or the red-tolex organs played by famous pop bands of the sixties.
Full polyphony (147 notes) Virtual 91 modeled tonewheels generator with accurate phase synchronization Adjustable leakage noise and cross modulation between tonewheels Three sets of waveforms: Set H (American Electromagnetic), Set F (Italian Transistor), Set V (Red Tolex Transistor) Three different organ models Adjustable global tuning Foldback on 16" deactivable Realistic motor wow & flutter Busbars and 9 key contacts simulation 17 steps drawbars Two separate sets of drawbars per manual Full "inverted octave" presets String Bass with adjustable release time Dynamic pickup coil impedance loss Adjustable generator filters scaling Single triggered percussion with natural capacitor discharge/recharge Adjustable global Percussion Level Adjustable global Percussion Decay Vibrato/Chorus virtual scanner Adjustable Vibrato Scanner depth Electronic vibrato simulation when Sets F or V are selected Separated Upper and Lower V/C tablets with smooth switching Dynamic tube overdrive simulation Spring reverb derived from Type4 Smooth action volume pedal with adjustable MIDI response Stereo wooden rotary speaker simulation with artificial environment and microphones positioning Five different rotary speaker algorithms with adjustable "character" Tone Cabinet (stationary speaker) simulation Rotors brake position Adjustable background hum and noise Very low CPU consumption Midi controllable, supports VST automation Easy MIDI Learn function Up to four separated outputs Upper and Lower manuals SPLIT with adjustable split point Upper and Lower manuals octave transposers Selectable output level Changes in version 1.2.2:VB3 is now available for MAC OSX in VST and AU format New Spring Reverb algorithm derived from GSi Type4 The code has been enormously optimized and the CPU load is amost halved Fixed bugs with some hosts (Sonar, Tracktion3, Receptor) that caused a crash when loading VB3 Added option "Output Level" with 5 different levels. Use this to prevent VB3 from generating audio clips at high dynamics Rotary speaker simualtor: improved control over rotors speeds; improved algorithm "Jazz 122"; Keyclick: improved and optimized Percussion: added the missing high-pass filter that gives it more punch and enforces the attack Organ sound: the leakage factor, the whole balance between lows and highs and the background noise have been noticeably improved Functionality: no more need to recompute the internal wavetables when the plugin is set in standby by the host; improved the stereo widening algorithm Many other things have changed internally that can't be explained in few words, but your fine ears will be able to notice the difference with previous versions.
