One thing that I really like about the Disco DSP is the Arpeggiator, they have made some major changes to it from the first version of the DSP that came out awhile back. It now has the ability to really control the arps much more now. Like it should be and the way that it is in most vst synths that you can get now. The first version didn’t have that much control over the arps so you really had to use your other channel basic arp to really get into depth in your arp configuration.


SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Seems like this this version they gave the whole vst more life, they have made some major changes that have really took it to the next level. Setting it up was quick and easy. There was really no effort involved at all and it took no time to install on my quad core pc running windows vista.

The sounds are pretty good, though there are some that just don’t fit my style at all. But there are over 1100 or so sounds that are built in and have been developed by award winning sound developers. Does this mean that they have created the best sounds ever? No, but I will say that they made a huge jump from the first version from Disco.



OVERALL OPINION

I feel the software is just a little overpriced compared to what you can get from other software vst’s that are priced cheaper than this. Price is a huge problem with vst’s and always has been. There are just so many that are overpriced and this is one of them. Not saying that its not good, because it is. Hopefully when they put out some updates they will fix some of the load time in getting your patches to load up. It can get to frustrate me when im in my creation mode and have to wait for a patch to load up.

OVERALL OPINION

Gnial ... the sound of Nordlead 2 (X) to 15 times cheaper ... the possibilities are standard, easy to use and sound standard. Provided you have a surface with MIDI CONTRL full of knobs and it was the foot .. what to do rflchir before buying the Red Devil sudois. In any case will have a 3 Nodlead or anything ...

ps: Prcisons however a major diffrence between the plugin and NL2X is that the plugin is not multitimbral but you bnficierez effects like a phaser, chorus or a delay.

At this price the (80 euros), I buy!

The installation was done without any problems on my config.

this config the plugin runs seamlessly with more than respectable performance, it consumes a little less than 1.5 times more than Vanguard, Z3TA +, Octopus ... Toxic III but less than, for example (this is to be taken lightly because it is in FLStudio on my config. I can not say that it is valid in all cases but it gives an idea)
It is not therefore say that it is in the average consolidated level. CPU

OVERALL OPINION

Already used a few times before what differentiates this use recently is that since I played with the North 2 and actually the quality of this virtual instrument is amazing ... immagine a real bass sounds like on the hardware, tablecloths that take space and Audible immence leads, Arps and other sounds virevoletants more precision and depth rarely matched virtually. And I can assure you that a good pair of plays is really impressive

I agree with the opinion before the fact that a midi controller to pots is certainly an excellent companion for the synthesizer (I have unfortunately not yet)

Installation very easy, I've tested the demo on Mac, PC, and even on an old P3 laptop and it works ...

Therefore tested with P3 800 mhz 256 MB ram on Mbox min (48 kHz) or i Roland SP606 (44100Hz).

On the PC P4 3.2 ghz, 1 gb ram, SAR (tjs mbox mini or roland sp 606)

On the mac, core duo 2.2 ghz, 1 gb ram, this time with 002 SAR digi ...
The host software is Cubase LE 4.
Found no crash.
Finally everything is better on the hardware, with real knobs, also easier to create your perfs (sounds multilayer sum)

OVERALL OPINION

then voila j ai tested vsti free (kind kore player, proteus vx. ..) demos (Waldorf Largo) I heard absynth 5 and several others. and disco dsp is the sound of which seemed as wide. The others were consistently recognized as a vsti in blind listening by my guinea pig kind!
The characteristic that I prefer: compatibility with the lead banks north.
The good value for money. (Especially for the demo lol)

He gave me desire to buy a m north lead ... and here came the drama ... there is a chasm between the two. the hardware has a potato and a width that is yet to pass the Honourable discovery to an mp3 ... (j exaggerated a bit ...) or the "real" spring mix of direct and more live, plug in seems just average ... it's simple, I m used at all, and once again it remains my favorite and far enough .... I find these vsti generally bland and cold. For comparison I put 4 to waldorf largo (which eats cpu, slowing to death, is even more cramped than the metal blofeld ...) 4 NI Absynth and the Korg Legacy, Proteus VX 3 (that is severe but considering the price of a rack used ...) With 5 disco dsp s do not come out so bad .... My favorite Vsti

I run this plugin on a Macbook with Presonus interfaces and it seems to work great so far. I have not needed to use the manual as this synth is setup up like a table top synthesizer and has a very similar setup as most other plugin synths I have used. Yes, the general configuration and setup is very easy as all the parameters are right in front of you. You can access everything you need easily from the GUI.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I run this plugin in both Ableton 8 and Logic 9 and the Discovery works great in both. So far I have never lost a preset I have created, everytime I come back to a project, the Discovery is setup just how I left it and it has never crashed. I give it a 10 out of 10 for performance. It works great with all of my midi gear and sounds extremely warm and realistic. I have been using this synth for about 6 months.

OVERALL OPINION

What I like most about this synth is it close if not more than a 1000 presets. I like to sit some times and just move through the presets to get an idea of what this thing is capable of and there are a lot of different sounds pumping out of this guy. There is nothing I hate about this synth, it works well and makes great sounds, what else can you want. I paid $99 for this synth and I am very happy about that. I give it a 10 out of 10 for sound quality. I use Rob Papen synths and Absynth probably the most of all of my plugin but the Discovery gets on quite a few tracks itself too. Yes, I would definitely make the same choice again. I own a lot of plugin synths (probably too many) so a lot of them are starting to collect "dust." But I really enjoy this one as the sounds are comparable to the plugins I mentioned earlier.
