Casio introduces the MZ-X series, aimed at replacing their previous MZ-2000 range.

Casio’s new MZ-X500 (the blue one) and MZ-X300 (the black one) workstations are complete 61-key (with 3 sensitivity levels) instrument that feature a 5"3 touchscreen, hundreds of sounds (1,100 on the MZ-X500, 900 on the MZ-X300), a sequencer, a MIDI recording mode, a sampler and even dual voice stereo loudspeakers. Additionally, the MZ-X500 features 16 pads (instead of only 4 on the MZ-X300).

Several effects and processings are also included, with 4-band equalization, Compressor, Limiter, Enhancer, Early Reflection, Phaser, Chorus, Flanger, Tremolo, Auto Pan, Rotary, Drive Rotary, LFO Wah, Auto Wah, Distortion, Pitch Shifter, Multi Chorus, Ring Modulator, Delay, Piano Effect, Auto-Harmonize, Arpeggiator, and many other features.
