The characteristics of this machine are based on substantial changes to the previous Fantom X, the main changes are:
- New routing effects (there is a multi-effects per patch / channel MFX1/MFX2/CHORUS/REVERB of year) which allows for sounds identical mode live / studio / single. This is the main evolution in sound, and it changes many things (more or making compromises to limit head impact).
- New interface via a mega screen (I know the biggest I've seen on a synth). All graphics are super caring, very fine and is super smooth. Everything is instantaneous unlike a PC or there is a lag time.
- The maximum memory RAM for sampling / recording audio goes a 1GB.
- The backup is done by external standard flash disk (8GB works, I think even more)
- The sequencer has been completely redone with 128 tracks midi/24 audio tracks. The sequencer is great because vraimment super simple to use.
- The ARX extension that uses their own synthesis engine.
- The interface / menus / file system are much better organized, everything is vraimment more intuitive.
- The interface that can be used via a mouse

UTILIZATION

The happy to use because everything is intuitive, it does not have time to think about technique as one might do on a PC. We do not ask what revision of soft / driver, what OS, what dongle, why the sound card does not work, for which the VST does not start properly, etc ...

On this machine, it only makes music, everything works, it's instantaneous, honest, simple, fast and there is no bug.

For me the level of functionality and interface completely competes with a configuration PC. I have not felt any limitation so far.

SOUNDS

The sounds are the evolution of the previous series.

In the same spirit as the FANTOM X but a big improvement has been made overall. The acoustic sounds are superb.

However, if the use is strictly limited to the function synthe I do not think that justifies spending FANTOM FANTOM X G.

One point to consider is the extension of the SRX series is no longer available and replaces it with the ARX. ARX is an extension UIA includes the synthesis engine in the.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, I am super happy with this machine.

For 10 years (when I had my XP80) I expected the machine on which to do everything (audio, midi, synth, sampler, live, sequencer ...).

The previous Fantom X was approaching, but the FANTOM G finally done.

I advise vraimment, and especially to those who do not feel comfortable on the computer configuration.
