I had good speakers near a good price and not too big and not too expensive either +
After trying the Tapco S8 too powerful but very well seen my room ...... so its not top .....
I have taken them after listening to a lot a lot in this price range

SOUNDS

The sound is fairly neutral to the mix and quite pleasant, less garish than the Yamaha
The stereo is good the sound is clear but somewhat less accurate in the low treble is excellent in my opinion.
In fact all the monitor speakers in this price range is worth + - 'they are supposed to be neutral right?) And generally have defects of their qualities yam very neutral but very tiring, very well fostex, Krk slightly colored (not embarrassing to the mix is ​​light c)

The output of a multitrack digital korg D16XD for the home studio, for tapping my hifi least jamo in a room of 15m2, with little room for large monitors. The overall sound is pretty good, I have no surprises when jécoute a mix done on RP5 on stereo systems, car, etc.. So that's what I expected. Its fairly balanced, we can adjust the treble with 3 preset positions mitigation well, low enough, not too mind-numbing after several hours of use in short it's rather good in this price range, and manufacturing is not fake .

OVERALL OPINION

I have since 2 months, I am very happy, it meets my expectations: small, more than enough power, not tired, and more beautiful.

Config on another pc I have MAUDIO BX8 is on is better, but frankly, the difference is not significant for me to use a still quite intensive and serious home studio. The event low in front and not behind, which is convenient when the stick against a wall, it prevents low disperse any way, unlike bx8 example that you really off the wall .

Otherwise, you can always be better for more expensive, but for a musician / home studio, I think it is better to put in more expensive instruments or microphones, which they have sound, and are still the bulk of sound.

For two years now these speakers Proxim medium format fully satisfy me. In my modest home studio gomtrie variable there was a lot of productions. I do not have a very talented musician and do no have the exprience prtends and know of a really good sound mix-ing (question mestering you can imagine, has not has either) but I know my hardware and starts to know to use it properly. With more than two years with the KRK RP5 passs I am able to say that these are good speakers. In a price range affordable trs especially in a template such reasonable KRK produce a sound and enjoyable little tiring. Real tools for home-studio owners clear but not yet worthy to meet the pros.

I chose to correct with external equalizer. This choice is debatable, but certainly a major asset Submitted face correction "in the back of the speaker" this correction is easily bypass (given that the EQ has a bypass) and refines the sound erasing some of the default of the enclosure. In addition, it allows to operate the amplifiers Intgr optimum performance without pushing the saturation. For pregnant proximity dja are too powerful, I advise you not to spend an hour in front of monitors more than 100W pousss bottom.

OVERALL OPINION

I'm glad I redcouvert prods all my mixes that were on old FOCAL breath and end of life. While certainly not a power issue with my AMPEG bass, but for those who do not know, there is a box for the sub SERIES PR wise ...

I'll offer another pair for the house (yes lugging, even if they are not big c *** is broken) ... I go back!

Once the correct and optimize small cost (placement, orientation, cabling etc) it's a real pleasure to work with. P listen with my modest productions in studios better team (Event, TANNOY, Lafont, Dynaudio) I'm shooting Leone allowed me to correct my costs and to better understand . Without competing with great costs outside the price and therefore irrelevant to me, KRK RP5 seem always an option. If my budget increases the choice will be the NHT, but if I make the KRK inopinment I resigned for the same.

You retain the sins simply:
- Space-saving yield apprciable
- Report qualitprix IDAL
- Rglages Intgr not sufficient, but an equalizer will do wonders
- Good dynamic: not tiring but not soft
- Aesthetics trsrussie, but it's a personal opinion
- Agree to both the rock as the electro
- Stereo image trs convincing if you know the place
- Reliability and robust: mine have hundreds of hours and would do well

These are my Premire monitoring speakers, I can not dvelopper too.
I have already cost more of course and these RP5 not let me nostalgic for what I heard.
The sound is enjoyable, I DTECT dtails well, the levels DIFFERENT frequency drives ...

OVERALL OPINION

My selection criteria taient simple! I'm in my room apartment / studio, the wall 15 cm derrire, I wanted to powered speakers (amp Intgr) and an affordable price is the only ones that suited me.
I am fully satisfied except powering as many notes but I had so much mare that since I always leave on and I gre both with a 3 facing multi port switch hand wringing j'vite me in two! If it is bad for pregnant trs you can send me an email, trs bad in the sense that life would Reduces tens of%, if only 10% less well I prfre prserver my back huh ... KRK thank you for my back and others as well, because it is far from being alone!
I close with a note because they mritent, thank you for those who do not think necessarily the place. Price / place / sound Ingal I think.

1" silk dome tweeter, 5" aramid glass woofer. Good choice of inputs (xlr, trs, rca), main gain control knob (-30 to +6 dB) and high frequency control knob (-2 to +1 dB). could use a crossover control know but it's not really necessary.

Very easy to use, just plug in the power, plug in your input, put the knobs to 0 dB, turn on and play away.

Well built, solid as a rock.

This the best purchace I've ever made for music production, given I haven't purchased much. Also, I do believe these are the best monitors you can find for $300 or less.

Love the slotted hole versus the standard round. I think it gives a better sound.

These monitors sound really good, I was skeptical at first when I saw them in guitar center. But I'm definitely glad I decided to go with these. I couldn't believe the low end that I get from only the 5" woofer. I live in an apartment so I can't play these too loud. So the 4" might would even do the job for me in my situation, but I haven't listened to those.

OVERALL OPINION

Very well built, KRK's signature yellow woofer is definitely an eye catcher as well. These monitors are very heavy especially for a 5" set. I think the slot style hole for the bass definitely makes a difference compared to the normal round hole found on most speakers.

Very easy to use. Plug up the power then plug them into your sound card.

This is the first set of monitors I've owned so I can't compare these to a lot of others out there, but for the sound, quality, style, and price. I don't think you can beat these. $240 flat including shipping on ebay (brand new still in the box)

I was in the market for some replacement monitors. I A/B'ed the against the M-Audio monitors. These blew the M-Audios away. They sound very precise, and clean without alot of sound coloring. I can't find a weak spot in these monitors aside from if they are pushed beyond their limit (which is the case with far more expensive monitors).

OVERALL OPINION

Very easy to use.

They feel heavy and durable, I love the finish and the yellow coned woofers.

Great sound quality, great value, great price, great look. You can't go wrong with these.

Nothing really. Its a monitor. So it needs on and off switching and some inputs. It even has a knob to adjust the HPF.

Soundquality is the best you can get at the price for sure ! The RP5 sounds very tight, detailed with good stereo imaging. Compared to KRKs own V4, this one is much better. Also compare it to behringer, the budget genelec, phonic and alesis, this one is still the way to go ! I have them for ore then a year now and I love them ! The soundquality you get for the price is very good ! 9 out of 10

OVERALL OPINION

Well in fact, the first couple of months I had it, it sounded to me that one of the cones was a bit on the loose. Just not fitting tight into its mounted surface. However 2 weeks after it I never heared the rattling and stuff again so I dont know what it was but it seems it self repaired? I would say very good quality

I love them really ! I would replace them with a new pair if they broke down. The sound is very good and I just love it !
