Moog Music Minimoog VoyagerPublished on 02/11/09 at 21:38
The Minimoog Voyager is an analog synthesizer with three octaves and a whole lot of knobs. It also has a pitch and modulation wheel and pretty standard inputs and outputs. The Voyager has all types of synth sounds from your traditional Moog lead synth and bass. These are just the beginning sounds as the tones that can be produced with this are far and wide. It is a monophonic and polyphonic synth.

UTILIZATION

The configuration of this synth can be somewhat confusing at first because there are a ton of knobs that do a lot of different things. The capabilities of this synth are varied and since it is such a versatile machine, learning all of the things it can do take a little while. The manual is good and is definitley helpful when learning this. Once you get the hang of what everything does it is easy to manipulate and get a sound you are looking for.

SOUNDS

You can get all types of sounds on this - ranging from the traditional sounds you think of when you think of the Moog synth signature sounds, and also all types of pads and sounds effects. If you can think about the snyth sound you want, this can probably get it for you. I have it used it mostly for pop and rock songs but will of course work with dance and any type of electronic or electronic influenced music. It has a signature sound that really can't be identically reproduced without a real Moog like this one.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using a MiniMoog Voyager for about three or four years. I'm a sucker for Moog and the sounds these make, and the Voyager is the original holy grail of Moog synthesizers. It is widely diverse and capable of a lot of different sounds and textures. While this definitley will cost you a pretty penny, if you are serious about the synthesizer, this is one of the best out there.

Well let's be pragmatic about the beast:
.dropoff Window The keyboard is nice but a little soft (we made it in fact, and we quickly fout)
.dropoff Window Type controllers are omniprsents monstrous in size (knobs) and expressiveness (touch panel X, Y, Z)
.dropoff Window The Midi is implmentation Royal (I just upgrade the system via Sysx and Logic in 10 seconds)
.dropoff Window Everything is recordable and saveable via midi Sysx!
.dropoff Window Bases Presets are powerful dj but the 2 banks supplmentaires Tlcharger on the moog site are downright incredible.
.dropoff Window Real Control panel according to research gniale = random function on some synths

.dropoff Window Real Control panel according to research gniale = random function on some synths
.dropoff Window Monophonic = Gnant if you save that actually twelve o'clock, otherwise RAS when recording Audio
.dropoff Window Option: add a module to the modular synth tranformer Travelling to patch with true 1/4 "!

USE

Everything is simple to use and easy door.
Three operating modes accessible via the menu: Panel, Edit and master (1 button = 1 function)
The knobs facade front for control rl in time, ModWheel on the left, the touch screen in front ... great!
The manual is in English but in addition to being simply offers a veritable pedagogical approach to the synthesis and Voyager (including with modular optional)

SONORITS

Sounds: What to say is incomparable! Deep bass sounds, lead dchirants, the lectros and industrial noises ... the only thing that is missing, but this is not its function are beautiful volutives sheets (Waldorf direction Virus, newt, etc ...)
= Zero effects not matter if you work chorus, delay, reverb or compression natively on your PC / MAC / Mixer, if not a little Gnant actually

NOTICE GLOBAL

For a home studio digital audio, the spcialis synth basses, leads and Research (Indus sounds, FX, electro, etc ...) (more with the modular optional) quasi id al with ITS PRO and CREDIBLE in all cases.
It is very expensive but it is the only one ... This category

OVERALL OPINION

I rvais D model of a bin as long as I will not under the nose of evidence that it is less good, I'll stay happy ;-)

We find all that "missing" at the Old D "and many other things. The Release, FM, the filter 6 dB, 12 dB, 18 dB, 24 dB etc. .... Over Possibility to connection Sources / Destinations in faade ACCS easy and can be strained with the XV-351 box into a real little semi-modular like the ARP2600.

This synth given me the impression of playing on a real musical instrument, the violin real and not an electronic computer dressed as a synth.

This synth given me the impression of playing on a real musical instrument, the violin real and not an electronic computer dressed as a synth.

UTILIZATION

I found all the comforts of the old Mini, a large "board work", tilt, large knobs. We sailed fast and bien.Vu my type of game, the keyboard a little soft by some, did not the. Regarding the touchpad, once the habit, I had fun making cool stuff, among other effects to evolve and other sound effects in real time.

SOUNDS

Good and well there is no dithering for 107 years. I tried it with my Mini and D together with Dynaudio BM5 for the occasion. The sound of the Voyager is cleaner and the "contours sharper" than the "Old D".
It seems that our old bangers that will keep much longer in the smooth li imprcis characters of old components ml the patina of time.
Deplus, there is a certain type of "grain" of the late rglages of Fitr that I failed to find the Voyager.
Nanmoins, this synth has a good momentum and good PCHE. And it sounds analog. While today's analog, but analog all the same. And it sounds Moog and not the "Moog" or "Moog" as we sometimes hear of some synths. So for me it is part of the Moog family. So I understand why the studios located in some beautiful analog sounds from the factory, as-they have not convinced me.

OVERALL OPINION

To conclude:
These opinions are my own do well sr. I would say that for a lover of old like me blunderbusses the Voyager can replace the "Old Class" in gnral and not an "Old D" in particular. However, it can set up a complter old grandpa (I mean synths) with no problem by playing in the Next-Generation gnral analog (with its default and its quality s) and Moog in particular.
For playing the old version Old D oscilloscope (SN 2XXX) and new oscilloscope (127XX) I notice a lot more of his Difference with the oldest of the Mini with the latest oscilloscope whose taient much more stable , and all identical waveforms (Verify the osciloscope) on three oscilloscope, which is not the case with the oldest. Notice therefore those who wish to have an old Mini ct a Voyager, a better acqurir MODEL old oscilloscope in terms of complementarity.

Philosophical Opening:
In the old analog guguerre / Soft-virtual, the question I ask is the chance of survival gear such as "new analos"? (As vger, Andromeda and others) because all it seems difficult to find the characters of the old cuckoo clocks (including the default quality of their era are today), I think that much 'there is no reason that the soft / virtual galer can not run the new analog. For what is lacking compared to the old virtual analos new analos ... did not ... This is the notice that is not based on much, and demand vrifier time ...

Epilogue:
I have to say finally, that even if it is a beautiful machine trs, with which I had so much fun I have not proved what I felt with my other old synth the Emotion. The again, personal opinion. I did not feel that I proved when I first got my Mini or my 2nd or 26000 or my P10 ....:
