Super Warm Delay
Published on 09/02/11 at 07:57This is Moog's version of an Analog Delay pedal. When it comes to effects, it is a one trick pony, but don't let it fool you. With the right twisting of knobs, you can get some really out of this world delay sounds. This pedal is not editable through a computer, strictly CV inputs/outputs and audio. This is a pure analog design with all the Moog Warmth you could ask for. With the "Rackmount" kit, you can rack this along side two other MoogerFoogers.
UTILIZATION

UTILIZATION
There are Main knobs and two switches on the front face. They are very easily accessed and edited. The manual is very well written and can help you understand each function very clearly. I read it too be sure not to miss anything this pedal could do, but all in all, there is not much in there that you will need. The loop gain knob is the only knob that I have never really seen on standard delay pedals.
All you have to do to set it up is plug in the power supply and plug in your guitar (or keys, or horn or whatever you want).
SOUND QUALITY
I use this pedal with every instrument I can get my hands on. Most notably the Guitar and synthesizers I own, but its creamy warm delay sounds great on everything I put into it. The only thing that could be a slight turn off for some people is the nature of an Analog Delay pedal.....MUD. That is only a issue if you don't consider EQing your signal appropriately, but in most cases, the guitar and synth are usually "thin" enough not to be an issue. I personally love every sound that comes out of this pedal. Another thing you must be careful of is cranking the feedback volume to much and blasting your ears as it will continue to build until your head explodes.
OVERALL OPINION
I absolutely love the tone of this pedal but what I love most is the ability to "pitch" shift your delay sounds (by messing with the Feedback time) and not getting the alaising and other awful sounds you get out of digital delay pedals when trying to achieve the same thing. The only thing I don't like about the pedal is the absence of "Tap Tempo," which can actually be done on an analog delay by isolation the signal path (Diamond Memory Lane is a good example). If they ever release a Moog Delay with tap tempo, I will be throwing my money at them right away. I got this for far less than the original price (which is somewhere around $700) so I am extremely happy with the value. But, I would have paid full price if I had too. Top notch sound quality as to be expected from Moog. I have used a Boss DD 5 for many years as well as a Akai Headrush. Both of which fail to stand up to this Moog pedal. I would definitely buy this pedal again.

The Moog Music Moogerfooger MF-104 Analog Delay is an analog based delay stomp box. It has 1/4 inch inputs and outputs and is not a rackable effect as it is a stomp box.
UTILIZATION
The general configuration of the pedal is pretty straightforward. The parameters you have at your will are delay time, feedback, output level, mix, loop gain, and drive. There are also two switches for either short or long delay and for either internal loop or external loop. It is easy to get a basic sound from this and in general is easy to use. The manual is helpful but I never looked too much at it as it was easy enough to figure out how to use.

SOUND QUALITY
The general delay sound from this pedal is top notch. You can get a wide array of delay sounds, all with a rich and warm sound that Moog is known for. I love using this for both subtle, slapback like delay, to crazy, spacey, alien like sounds. I have only used this with guitar, as that is what I mostly play, but it would probably work great with any electronic instrument. This is one of my favorite sounding delays out there in terms of stomp boxes, as it lives up to the Moog name in both sound and design.
OVERALL OPINION
I've been using the Moog Music Moogerfooger MF-104 Analog Delay for about two years. I have found it to be one of the warmest and fullest delay pedals I have ever used. The variety of parameters makes it versatile in sound as you can get a number of different types of delay sounds, depending on how you set it. The price for this pedal is very steep, and I wouldn't expect the amateur or beginner to pick one up these up because of that heavy price tag. However, for those who love Moog and love using all types of delay sounds, this is worth a look. This definitley blows the Line 6 DL4 out of the water in all features and is truly one of the best delay pedals on the market.

Transistor delay (analog).
It uses transistors of the 70 (not r-ditions!) Is for it has a limit SERIES.
Between output and unbalanced mono jack. Between controllers in the mix, speed or feedback.
Both Long and short mode. Speed control and feedback.
It possde an insert in the feedback. This adds a delay to the external effect.
A drive to boost and even tweak the signal.
The maximum delay is 0.8 sec long mode.
UTILIZATION
Trs easy to use.
Manuel clear.
We can patch external controllers (pedals or analog sequencers) To create incredible sounds.
SOUND QUALITY
Quality Vintage Analog. If you like delays acute ... go your way.

Quality Vintage Analog. If you like delays acute ... go your way.
A big big sound with a possibility of saturation of the input.
We travel 30 in Rear!
For the DUB FLOYD or it's perfect.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 3 years among other delays (RE201, EchoPro, etc ...)
This is THE vintage analog delay.
Even if the delay is relatively short, in practice it is not a problem.
It is a bit expensive, as rare, but do not dcevra.
I Rasht good one ...
or wait a little out ERRF expected ending for Moog
