The Cadac DM1600 is a new development based on a DSP mix platform. Designed primarily as a live mixing console, with an optional Firewire interface, while 16-channel 19-inch rackmount expander modules are designed to provide up to a 48 channel mix system. Console features include 16 motorised faders, TFT colour display and scene recall of functions.
EQ filters and analogue sounding compressors, 24-bit / 96kHz Delta-Sigma AD/DA converters, and four 4th generation 32/40-bit floating-point SHARC processors are included.
The Central Assignment Module (CAM) is designed to control input signals, groups, VCA groups, effects and auxiliary sends. Each function has a control with no ‘doubling up’ or menu scrolling. The central 7” colour TFT display shows views of all parameters along with scene numbers, on board effects editing and MIDI status. All rotary encoders can be interrogated by pushing the control with the value, mode or function displayed. Bus routing, auxiliary pre/post assignment, dynamics settings are also shown on this display.
