Designed primarily as a live mixing console, an optional Firewire interface is designed to provide the Studiomaster Digilive 16 with sound recording and production capabilities. Utilising a DSP mix platform, the Digilive 16 incorporates production features and system expansion options; rackmount expander modules are designed to provide for extension of the 16 channel mixer up to a 48 channel mix system. Operationally the design is said to combine the ‘feel’ and ‘speed’ of an analogue desk with the digital control capabilities; including 16 motorised faders, TFT colour display, and scene recall of functions, among others.
Distortion EQ filters and analogue sounding compressors, 24-bit Delta-Sigma AD/DA converters, and twin 4th generation 32/40-bit floating-point SHARC processors are included.
Studiomaster will be hosting a press presentation on its stand (Hall 6.1, D20), on the opening day of the exhibition (Wednesday 6 April) at 12:00hrs. Audio designers Paul Belcher (Studiomaster’s chief designer) and Peter Hawkins (consultant designer) will present the Digilive 16 and the new Horizon 2012 powered mixer.
