Build

Keyboard has good feel and is quiet. The body is lightweight and slim. Knobs and switches are safely indented in the face. Screen is bright clear and simple.

Sounds

Piano The piano has always been robust and cutting.
Organ I've never used for organ
Strings Pads are lush
Analog synth Does pads or solo with portamento and effects, and 4 parts per note.
Brass Brass is superb and capable of analog sounds
Drums Gives enough kit choices from natural to special effects

Polyphony

Polyphony is definitely the issue. Nothing new there. Layering with another keyboard is recommended.

Editing

Editing is super easy and able to leave menu parts you edit the most on screen

Overall Review

Love it. Sounds can be put in my 2 JV880's giving me 84 notes of polyphony without the need for expansion boards. 76 keys and lightweight.

Small drawback: polyphony and multitimbral limited. No GM bank.

UTILIZATION

Editing sounds: we have seen more simple (but this is mainly due to the small size of the screen).

SOUNDS

The best sounds are the pads. For acoustic sounds: piano bof, strings not bad, very well in the bass (cellos and double basses), acoustic guitar well, pretty wood, brass bof, percu well, organ hum, TB pads, I added a card extension where the sound quality is better (I needed harpsichord, accordion ...

OVERALL OPINION

Been used for 94 or 95.
For the time, the sounds were very satisfactory, more pros than GM expander base (or SC55 roland yamaha MU50, eg).
The sounds have a very broad spectrum (beautiful pads, often heard at the time for that matter).
No memory of the price at which I bought.
He accompanied me for a while, without technical problems (except a few buttons and recalcitrant deviennet that need support as a brute to activate), and I even used as a master keyboard (less than 10 kg, is significant).

I have a JV90 I will not present here was very well done in the data sheet.
Basically it's a keyboard with some variety of sounds which has the advantage of having a 76-key keyboard which is INTERESTED in the scene.
Polyphony 28 notes -> Important patches consist January to April tones that just reduce your polyphony 7 notes.
The performances contain 8 patches (one for the battery) as well say that to a full arrangemet the JV is quite unrealistic.
no sequencer edition possible thanks to WinJV PC -> it works super full of Hell

UTILIZATION

Philosophy Roland regulars will feel at home.
Very easy to use even with the display 2x40 characters

SOUNDS

The pianos, brass, guitars and strings are rather nice, for cutter in terms of the organ is a little hard drive ...
You'll have full editing functions with a bit of grip you can get to create your sound completely. We must recognize that aging is a machine, the synth sounds ideally suited to 90 years, for conntre for contemporary music is a little death.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 7 years it works very well but like all synths of that time, the comparison is difficult with what we do today.
