Rane Serato SL 3

My gear: a Urei 1601, M5G 2, Serato SL3, Novation Dicer

By dint of seeing the guys played it and after the test concluded I started!

I mix a little of everything and Serato is great for that! (Rather minimal, electro, drum and bass, and dubstep)

My PC: Asus X71SL

UTILIZATION

level stability, I do not want renewed debate serato / traktor, but the team was all of traktor, mixvibes of, and serato, and finally in the evening there is always serato ... It's not complicated, I have NEVER had a single crash yet it happened to turn it over 9-10am on ... So level reliability and stability, no problem ...

I'm not talking about latency aui is very good on any software, or options, each one sees noon at his door.

Very clean record, but prévoyé space!

GETTING STARTED

Instalation simple, and once, we know the workflow for calibration time code is actually a 2 minutes by the clock

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 years

I find it very simple and intuitive Verily, it makes you want to make music.

Remember to take several pairs of vinyl in the evening because it tends to get dirty fast!

For me, more turning back.

I refferais this choice without hesitation!

-What characteristics have motivated your choice?

The interface allows a visual aid to mix some old pieces that do not have a tempo (funk, rock ..). the opportunity to register thanks to the 3rd input (it can also be used to connect another platinum)
I've also chosen for its reputation as a very stable software.




-Which instruments or systems (console, preamp, DTD ...) you use it and how connections?

I use a macbook pro in 2011, a table Reloop RMX 40 and 2 cdj-850 K (for the moment still the case but it is possible to do without the software to run with the turntables ) or 2 technics MK5

-The drivers are stable?

Yes, I had a few minor bugs in preparations playlist, but nothing too serious.



What You Get-latency?
When I felt none.

For updates are regular and unlike competitors such as Traktor free!

The manual is clear and sufficient?

The manual is in English but to my knowledge there is the serato forum in French is really awesome and a great help in case of pb.

OVERALL OPINION

-I use it for 2 months, I mixed in on Torq Connect (the same principle but much more stable, and the case of pro SL3 contains a good sound card).

-What I love most right now is stability, nothing to say when it starts it runs impeccable. Also, unlike bcp competitor there is no auto synch it forced to use a minimum ears which I think is the basis for making music.

-What I like least had .... so far nothing.

-How would you rate the quality / price?
It is a pack which I think is expensive, but offers great stability and ease of use. In my opinion this is the price of a software pro quality.

I use this software to do the electro (tech house, techno, minimal) and general music.

Utlise with a Macbook Pro on Leo for use primarily scratch.

Set: mk2 Technics, Numark TT500, Stanton SA3 ..

UTILIZATION

The software is stable trs on my Macbook Pro (Lion). No latency, which is important for trs scratcher.
The sound quality is really good trs.

Trs quick and easy installation, there is nothing to configure or almost normal use.
For those who want to use for MIDI and another, the configuration is simple and intuitive

I used Mixvibes Cross and sl1 front.

Report ais good quality but this purchase is not justified given my use is with the exprience, I would go back in or I would take a sl1 TTM57sl Rane.
