after a year of reflection, I have finally bought the r1 that had bad press at first, but with all the hassle it maj missing

I use XDJ-R1 month away.

Before I had a board composed of two CDJ-400 and DJM-500 a, I also had it a few years ago a Hercules RMX controller.

What I like most about the XRJ-R1 is its versatility, CD / USB / MIDI, quality finishes, power output, also the built-in effects, in short, for my use (mobile disco) is ideal.

What I regret is that the table part is composed of only two faders while with four it would be Peru. Certainly it would increase the bill and would swell the can a beast, but I think it would be even more pro, look at the DDJ-SX for example.

The price / quality ratio is good, even if we may judge that Pioneer is expensive, it was quality assured with them (in relation to the price I hear, Pioneer also low range).

I would do this choice without any problems, I use it mainly for mixing with a soft, with XDJ-R1 I still have the option of using a USB flash drive or even a CD a customer bring me.

Criticized following the disappointments of its release, I think it will make its way into a market that is constantly growing, it will be like the SX, a reference in a few months.
Following its purchase I installed the latest firmware Pioneer corrects all the bugs we encountered the first users, and some evenings I have so far encountered no problems.

I use it for almost a year

Before this one I had to try the Numark NDX800, a small controller hercules control style as well as in Cortex dmix 300

What I like most is being able to prepare his set on rekordbox and the possibility to switch between computer midi, CD, or USB key. I also like the sound color FX, it really helps to add a personal touch to the mix
What I like least is the fact that we have not voted on two more, it's a shame

This is a simple mix, very intuitive, really fun even if it lacks some option like sleep mode, reverse or otherwise. At this price, I would rather choose a ddj sx, even put two CD players and more cd's because it's always useful especially discomobil!

Other Models i have the DDJ ERGO / XDJ AERO / DDJ T1 / X3 XDJ PIONEER R1'S

Pioneer cannot explain the sudden freezing with a high pitched noise on the R1s, and its not just certain units, its a design fault, 2 of the R1's brand new out of the box froze in the middle of gigs, u have to restart the unit in order to get rid of the noise, the 1st R1 wireless didn't work at all.

In vinyl mode when youre using jog wheel to search you'll find that there are audio breaks, also from usb to cd you'll find that there is always a pitch difference, whether it be analysed in rekordbox or not,

There is no record option like on its predecessor the Aero XDJ, I wouldn't recommend buying the R1 until pioneer sorts out their issues. Like i said i'm on R1 unit number 3 now and its already seizing, firmware updates don't fix the big issues, your autosync, and bpm reader etc are fixed and some other things, but guaranteed the freezing will happen,

Oh yeah you'll notice E8302 errors will start happening if you mix for longer than 2 hrs or so, which are read errors for cd, even though you aren't playing with cds, lol, its an error in the link software (that pioneer knows to happen in cdj 2000's when i quote "when playing unusually long sets")

the R1 is an great idea, i just think pioneer pushed it out too soon and didn't work out all the bugs wanting to be first of its kind. on top of that, pioneer knows about the issues yet they blame it on the wireless connection, rekordbox and other situations, so if you have an R1 checkout the pioneer forum....

It has now been 6 months that I mix with R1. We see that Pioneer had the idea but made a poor cdj kit. I explain, we find frequent bugs, forgotten functions (no fast forward if offline Ipad / phone, no connection to a software worthy of the name by those who know how to connect on tracktor ext) . Its a map that shows the limits (especially when a third plate on branch). Good there is not that bad, for example the effects are good finish too. The one can easily transported, but mixed in soiré is often difficult (unlike other more practical models) unless you spend hours on rekordbox. To conclude a difficult platinum used standalone but useful if it is combined with good software, not put in the hands of a beginner. We'll have to wait more than pus pioneer but if you want more you have to put the price. For those who still hesitate with aero and sx, R1 is still above (I tested 3) even if the SX has its arguments.

Unhappy owner since 5 weeks of this famous and supposedly revolutionary XDJ-R1.
In total some trials, a party (the shame of my life ... bug bug)
After the last update Firmware 1.05 some improvement but far from being developed.
On several occasions I contacted Pioneer today adopted a long silence. Read the forums in English and you will understand that all Dj (Dj except salon) are really disappointed with this material.
When I read some comments that the merits of the sale XDJ-R1, it must be people who do not know much about the mix.
So I advise you to save € 1,000 and you turn to another controller that true burger.
Today, Pioneer is well aware of the many problems ... When will the software solution? ... god only know ....

Just for a few days I realized that Pioneer has released a product full of good ideas but not absolutely reliable and unreliable when I say it really is not reliable at all.
The XDJ R1 works good 2 hours then jog started making him even a variant orror knowing that I mix in the ear since 1986 anyway (I even ask whether it was me and fortunately buddy Dj mixer and came over to the mat and 1H me looking annoyed) to complete crash of the machine and the second CD full crash USB! key mode! it is lamentable from Pioneer out a product as unreliable (I ask not to have the components of the CDJ 2000 but anyway) I u CDJ 400, they were better.
