got it for christmas my parents got it at prosound for around 700 dollars. i think it was on sale

just about everything. the hardware is very sturdy and the starcast mounting system is great. the toms sound good right out of the box. same with the snare drum

tuning the bass drum is really hard for me atleast. it took me a while but it sounds good now

good. shells are mahongany with one ply of bass wood in the middle. nothing has broke on me and i have had it 2 years so far

this is a great set for beginners and pros. the sound is great i highly recommend it.

I bought this kit brand new from a local music store here in town. And paid a lil over 700 for it and that included throne, dampening rings, and sticks. So it was a pretty good deal

Oh i love this kit it is a great set-up for the price. Tama has always been known for there sturdy hardware and it is rock solid like they say. Got the best sounded kick ive ever heard if ya dampen an tune it right itll have that big low in. Also since they've added the starcast mounting system makes them even more attractive.

What i didn't like about the kit is the heads it came with there terrible, so i recommend take bout 50 or so bucks and put some evans G2's on these babies and theyll be sounded good.

I bought the fusion size kit 10,12,and 14. And quality yes they do have, these things will rock when you want them too.

Who said you had to be a beginner or whatever too play on this set. This thing sounds great when you put a little extra money in it with good heads an some top quality cymbals as well. I seriously recommend this kit for anyone whos lookin for a good quality drumkit at a good price.

Always remember its who's sittin behind the drumset is what really matters.

I have bought this new model fusion kit (sizes: 10 & 12 rack toms, 14 floor tom, 13" snare and 22x18 kick drum) at samash for $500 just the shells.

This drumset is amazing for the price, even the factory heads can be tuned to sound awesome. this is a great kit for little money I definately recommend you will not be disappointed.

I love the sound,starcast mounting system, color, look, and feel. Recommend!!!

I'm new to drumming so this is my "entry level" kit. The kit was purchased at Guitar Center in Paramus, NJ. The shells alone were $399.


The drums give a great fat sound, and resonate very well. My choices were between the Tama and the Yamaha Stage Custom. I chose the Tama kit because even at entry level they have the Starcast mounting system which is usually only available on higher end kits. The Starcast system really does improve the way the kit resonates


I was recommended by some drum friends to replace the factory heads with Evans G2's and an EQ3 on the bass. The only real problem I have isn't with the drums, but with the people who sold it to me. At the time I didn't know much about drums and was sold a fusion kit. After playing for a year and on other kits, I would much rather prefer a full sized kit.


What do you like best? 9-ply basswood, 2 ply mahogany.

Ok, if your going to buy a kit, especially at entry level, don't buy one at Guitar Center. The employees must work on comission because they try and sell you everything. (The saleman tryed to sell me a Gibralter Rack too) I found out after my purchase that when these big stores buy from Tama, they get the whole kit, except cymbals. Guitar Center sells everything seperatly so now you stuck buying pedals, stands, hardware and cymbals which they mark up.If your looking for an entry level kit, the Tama Rockstar gets an A in my book. For the price, you get an excellent kit with some features only found on kits 3 times the price.
