TC-Helicon MP-75

The TC Helicon MP 75 is a vocal microphone that is made for live performances. It is a super cardioids dynamic microphone that is great with feedback and noise rejection. The reason that this microphone is so good is because it is made for vocalists that use the microphone very close to their mouths. On a lot of other microphones that I have used in the past; if the microphone is too close to the vocalist’s mouth it will cause a world of problems and during a live set that is the last thing you need. This microphone handles that great, it has a steel windscreen grill on it that is heat treated.

OVERALL OPINION

This microphone is made for vocalist and vocalist only, during a sound check we did some testing with it on a few instruments and it did not respond to well. The sounds of vocals through this microphone are crystal clear and warm, they sound big and that is perfect for a club or live setting. If you are a singer you will love this microphone because it gives you controls right on the microphone that you can change anytime you want.
You can take full control of your vocal effects right from the button on the microphone without having to stop the performance or anything. This is a singers dream; the button will enable vocal processors like VoiceTone Singles and Create XT. Being able to control your effects for when the verse or chorus kicks in is crucial to some sets and for ours it really was. Because we do not have a engineer team to take care of all of this things and we needed to be able to do it quickly ourselves. This microphone has armed us with the tools we need to do a great live show without any hassles. If you are a singer I highly suggest getting this microphone and learning to work the microphone control circuit. You will thank me later.

The overall quality is good and we must say that the remote control function is a real plus.
On the model I received, the XLR was a lack of finishing and jammed the cable insertion. Handyman and being equipped, I do not have a problem but I was instantly disappointed.

OVERALL OPINION

I took a pack including in Voicelive 2 and MP-75 and I do not regret my choice.
This restores micro fine voice, plosives are filtered even without antipop, anti feedback system works really well. We feel that the product is optimized to work with the speech processor brand.
One thing bothers me though, I find it very (too?) Directive and you really be in line on pain of loss consistent level.
I never had the opportunity to try other mics that Shure SM58 and The Bone SC450, so no comparison.
However, I replaced my MP-75 by T Bone SC450 in my entry Voicelive 2 and I've tested. I prefer the sound of the SC450 is warmer and more dynamic too but I find myself with ambient noise.
I remake that choice without hesitation, this is the perfect companion Voicelive 2.

This is a super cardioid dynamic microphone, put together for some time by TCH because it meets the needs of singers using branded products.
Its compatibility with a large number of processors is pretty amazing voice.

OVERALL OPINION

I had tried and I've recently acquired for € 111 including shipping promotion. Some models already, but for specific uses.
What I like is the voice clear and straight, not too serious like a SM, which allows in sharp harmonies and effects, weight, resistance to noise and friend Larsen, assignable with the switch in Moreover, if one has the triple pedal Switch, Digitech or TCH. In short a quality mic for vocals, certainly long prepared and successfully, there is also the MP 70 for those who have no interest in the function switch, the same bill and cheaper.
Very good value, essential to many processors TCH.
But also a good mic scene without speech processor, to advise the two models for voice.

Mic exclusively designed for singing on stage, supercardioid. It is especially designed for users of products from the same brand he can control. For those who do not have this kind of product, MP-70 (identical, except the control function) is cheaper.

What thing do you like most/least about it?
Most: the sound clear and dynamic filtering pops, and of course the control function: to support the finger, I control a function of my pedal Voice Live 2. It responds to the quarter turn, I love it!

Did you try many other models before getting this one?
Regardless, I'm not like some who have more than 100 microphones in their gear . I used to date a very modest Behringer XM8500 Ultravoice made me great service for 30 euros and that I recommend for beginners and small budgets. We are not here in the same category and this means! I also briefly used a Shure SM58.

What is your opinion about the value for the price?
Well ... actually I got it free in a contest, so I can not really judge ... for 150 euros but it seems correct. I just enjoyed a hard case for carrying around more quietly: it comes with a soft case (see photo), tweezers and instructions.
