Audio-Technica AT2031

A small cigar capacitor (which cash still 141 db) with a low cut at 150 Hz which is not common in this price range and making it readily ideal for string instruments frotées or plucked.

I chose this mic to complete my AE3000 with which I got a great sound on my acoustic guitar but always with a slight lack of brightness which forced me to play the EQ
Out there is that this mic is ideally boosted high frequency as shown in this ghraph worth a thousand words:

button to start the low-cut is very lousy: it takes a little sharp trick to getting the chopper and it's very annoying ... and most importantly it is inevitable that one day or the other- said something sharp will not be on hand when it is needed!

OVERALL OPINION

I started using this little gem a few days ago and I do not regret this purchase: facing the 12th fret it actually perfectly complements the AE3000 aimed her easel.

Used alone and it also works perfectly and gives me an excellent result always with my acoustic guitar and without (almost) any EQ!
Having tried many other more expensive references I can not advise you to try this mic enough magic for guitarists.

Very good also on bongos, too bright for my guitar amp (where the AE3000 is a marvel) and really bad (for my taste) in overhead due to acute boost too pronounced.

Besides, I think it will not be at ease with all rich sources of acute and shine ... but who can do more can do less through an EQ dose.

The pleasant surprise was the price: between 110 and 150 euros depending on the signs is a bargain compared to the competition case!
