I bought the Digitech RP200 about 6 or 7 months ago at Sam Ash at New York. It was about $150. Before buying it, i read some reviews and asked other musicians for their opinion. It took me about 2 months to save up for it... but thats ok... it was all worth it. (I was 16 at the time hehehe 150 was hard to get, it still is!)

The effects are great. I've set up my own effects and altered some of the ones i didnt like too much. It gives my guitar a great sound and very diverse. I can begin playing with some hardcore metal distortion but then switch to some funky wah/ya and then get to a clean sound.

One thing i dislike about the Rp200 is that it takes a year and a day to get to a certain effect since you must cycle through each and every effect. You can preset, but its annoying.

The construction is good. Thick metal and not heavy at all. I have had it for a while and it has been through a lot of moving, kicking, stomping and all that and it still looks new and works like new.

The Digitech is a good deal if you are looking for a multi effects pedal. might be hard to use live but to record and just jam its a great pedal!

I bought this unit from german internet music store. I paid 200 euros for it.

It has a nice collection of good-sounding effects like chorus, flanger and delay. The amp models are great too. Rhythm trainer and tuner are nice bonus. Good price. Great for beginners.

Some effects are not so good (especially wah). Distortion isn't bad but could be better.

It's made of aluminium and is durable.

This is a great pedal if you are a beginner due to it's low price. If you are more demanding about the sound quality you should use stomp boxes instead.

i paid roughly $200 canadian for it at my local guitar store.

it has a lot of effects, very easy to edit new sounds and stuff. it sounds much better played through solid state amps, instead of tube amps. there's a lot of stuff for a good price.

because there is so many effects in one little box for a small price, none of the effects are very good. the distortion is not very good (although it sounds alright when played through a solid state amp), the wah pedal settings are simply HORRIBLE. but it has nice chorus, flanger, some ok reverb settings, and simple-but-still-pretty-good delay. and having to scroll through all of the effects can be a pain sometimes.

overall it's a great pedal for the price, although all the effects aren't the best quality. this probably won't matter too much if you aren't picky about your sound. i recommend this pedal to beginner guitar players wanting to expand their guitar sound beyond a cheap distortion pedal like the boss metal zone :) (HORRIBLE PEDAL!)

I paid $150 at Guitar Center as a Replacement of my dead RP6.

It has a bunch of simultaneous effects, and a decent amount if not all of the standard effects.

It's really noisey, and it doesnt have the best of noise gates. The Distortion has that really cheap electronic sound to it that plagues most small multi-effect processors. The 3 fixed band equalizer is too limiting.

    It seemed really sturdy.

All the amp models, and effects in the world aren't going to fix the lousy basic sound, and you cant even help the mix out with the equalizer.

I found it by researching pedals and got it at Guitar Center for $150, because I felt it was the best at the price.

It has a very solid aluminum construction, very easy editing, a expression pedal, jam-along and much more.

Its tuner sucks, and its paint comes off easily, not to mention the fact that it's navigation is terrible.

Very solid, however the paint tends to chip off. Otherwise, very high quality.

It's an excellent pedal at an excellent price. It gives good effects, although none are great, all are most certainly average or better and a good expression pedal.

I bought this pedal for $134.99 at Guitar Center in Raleigh, NC. The people at Guitar Center are the best! I was getting REALLY tired of the sound coming out of my amp so I got the RP200.

I love the price. It costs just about the same as two single effect pedals, but has loads more. The effects are great, everything is editable, and the expression pedal adds loads of difference when assigned different parts. It also includes a VERY good tuner, which is the biggest bonus you could ask for. It has amp simulators, pickup simulators, miked cabinet simulators, noise gate, with multiple controls for each one. I really liked the fact that the Delay, Reverb and Compressor effects were separated from the others so you can add them together. The 40 factory presets range from Metalhead shred to pedal controlled Ya-Ya.The expression pedal can be assigned to any effect using a wide range of minimum and maximum parameters and makes for awesome sounding playtime. I'd like to say that I have had more fun playing guitar with this pedal then I've had in a loooong time. That alone is worth the 135 bucks.

My only complaint is the fact that you have to cycle through patches one at a time in numerical order. I'd like to jump around between them... But hey, compared to the good stuff, it's not a problem.

Pretty durable... It's DigiTech, so you know you're not buying a piece of crap. The effects are of very high quality, if it sounds bad, you screwed up.

Great effects without the impact on your wallet. This is just a great pedal for musicians on a budget, or with limited space.

There is a headphone jack in the back for a hi-fi stereo personal practice session. I also like how it comes with an AC adapter. Zoom pedals, the adapters are sold separately for $20.00 which give this yet another upper hand over the Zoom products. I have only had this for a couple of days at the point of this reveiw, and have spent several hours beginning to set up my own preferred effects. This unit has an excellent phaser effect that to me sounds just like MXR Phase 90 which in my opinion is the best real phaser effect out there. There are also some nice chorus and flange effects, some decent clean guitar and acoustic effects which I like. I can also play right into my computer from this box, love that. The sweep of the pedal is also better than the Zoom pedals.

I am not completely happy with the sounds of the distortion effects. They're okay, but when I tweak them I can't seem to get the exact clean clear sound which is one of the types I want to be able to play. For the most part, there is a very high frequency fuzz that comes out over it that I can't seen to cut down without taking out a major portion of the treble tone quality of the effect. It can be fuzzy and I'm not immediately able to get exactly the distortion quality that I'm after. However, I don't play with a lot of heavy distortion anyway so for me it's not that big a deal. But thats really the only thing i'm not completely happy about it. I can work with it though and maybe I need to spend more time with it yet to figure out how to get it just right.

Solid, rugged. I like how it's in a metal casing.

For the money, you can't go wrong. I have used Zoom 504, 505, 606, and 3030 pedals, and this Digitech is way better than any of the zooms in effects, its dependability, and its versitility. I'm glad I got it. I am on a very tight budget and I am not in a band, I only play with freinds in bands occasionally, so for me this is the perfect solution. To me, this box is like having a row of stomp boxes that I can control in one unit. I like it.

Being a beginner I was getting bored with my old guitar and wanted to liven it up and have some fun.So I checked out the Zoom GFX707 and the Digitech RP-200.The RP-200 has great super effects and its built to take more punishment than the Zoom.So for me the RP200 is the way to go.

I got this at my local guitar store, paid about $200 for it.

what i like? oh my, so many things. There are SO many different things you can do with this. From heavy metal to rock n' roll to country, you can get almost any sound you want out of this. Its got many many features, and is very simple to use and program. It comes with 40 factory presets and 40 you can program yourself, which is more than enough.

The fact that you have to scroll though all the settings to get to the one you want can be a pain in the ass sometimes. After a while the pedal starts to squeak. I think maybe they should have added a few more synth effects, but thats just because i have weird tastes.

Very good quality. most of it is metal, whilst the rest is plastic. I've had it for 6-8 months and the only problems have had with the quality is that the pedal is starting to squeak.

its a great pedal, i love it so much that im going to sell it and get an rp300, which is the better version of it.

I bought the rp-200 because I wanted a bunch of effects to use and I had heard this was a good unit for that. I bought it from Old Towne Music and payed $170 for it.

Good quality effects for the most part. Metal housing. I liked that it came with a power supply. The expression pedal works well after it is used for a little while. When you set the expression pedal to volume, it works very well.

Cheap, plastic footswitches look like they won't hold up. They are also too close together. Wah effect sounds electronic. The distortions are my major gripe with this unit. They are fuzzy without the noise gate and just don't seem to 'crunch' like the amps it models. Also, you can't use a…

They are fuzzy without the noise gate and just don't seem to 'crunch' like the amps it models. Also, you can't use amp distortion or a distortion pedal with the RP-200 because of the horrible hissing and feedback that occurs. You can't even put the rp-200 on a clean tone and have your distortion over top of that. You must first go into to the bypass mode on the rp-200 and then turn on your distortion. It's very disappointing to only be able to use the otherwise good effects with only the unit's distortions. Tuner is not as accurate as I would like.

It looks like it could hold up generally well except for the two footswitches.

Anyone who plays in a band will find this unit completely useless. Only people who enjoy sounding mediocre will want or use this pedal. Good effects but bad distortions make this box a waste of money. However, others on this site seem to like it as well as people I have talked to about it. Give it a try.

I bought this because I had owned a Digitech RP-10 since 1994 and it was, for the most part, a very diverse, reliable, and technically advaced effects processor. I had some comfort in knowing that I wouldn't be disappointed in a Digitech product. Someone spilled a Bloody Mary on it at gig my band was playing. We tried wiping all the liquid off of it, opening it up and propping a fan up to it to dry it out but, nothing worked, it was dead. I had used that piece of equipment for 6 years. I had grown to like my Digitech RP-10. It was time to find a new one.

This pedal is so diverse. It's got 2 acoustic channels that sound almost exactly like the real thing. The CC pedal is great because you can use is to control any effect you like. Also, it has an on/off switch in the center of it. I mainly use that to turn on/off the wah. There are several different distortion channels from the deep crunchy Metallica Mesa Boogie style sound to the 70s Tweed sound. It also has all the standard effects such as chorus, delay, reverb, phaser, etc. I especially like the drum beat. It has around 30 preprogrammed drum rhythms that play through your amp along with your guitar. You can only change the tempo, drum volume, and patterns. Don't worry, they don't cancel each other out. It also has a talkbox feature that I haven't really messed with too much. To me, it's kind of a novelty but hey, if you're into Peter Frampton.....

I really can't find too much wrong with this unit. I would like to see a drum machine that is programmable. Also, some things could be made easier to program but overall, this unit is an excellent piece of equipment. It's well worth the price.

I like the solid stainless steel shell. It's a tough unit that should stand up to even the rowdiest of gigs.

Very diverse, solid, well though out design. I would recommend this unit to anyone thinking of getting an effects processor but doesn't want to pay $1000+.

Great package with all the right stuff for anyone who doesn't want fx or stomp boxes all over.

I bought it at a Mars Music in Albany, NY. I bought it mainly because I did not want to spend like $400 on a whole bunch of different pedals. So I spent 135 because Mars had a 10% off sale.

Its very versetile, the presets are awesome, and you can edit your own sound, to fit your needs. It goes from Metal, to blues, to jazz...and whatever else you need.

I dont like the fact that it does not give you too many ways to edit each effect, and it kinda has a small variety of cabinet choices.

It is built like a rock. It has already been kicked, stepped on, and everything other than smashed with a hammer, and it still suits me well.
