I got the Zoom 505 II pedal of eBay for about 70 bucks. I think it's around 100 in stores so I was happy. I got it because I just started a band and needed something other than the amp for effects.

I like the ease of use! Real easy to change stuff on the fly. (I had to change volume before while playing and that was no biggie) You don't even really need the book but it's a nice reference if you don't get something.

I don't like the fact that from one effect you can only go to two others. You have to think ahead about how your song is going to go and make sure that the effects are right next to the one you start.

This would be the part I really don't like. The plastic construction is alright. The actually pedals are fine and stable. The only thing is that one day it stopped working all together. I took it apart and found that the power input broke off from the rest of the stuff. I got it sodered and it works but I don't know for how much longer.

Great little pedal for the guy that does a little bit of travel but it can't gig regularly. Good for the beginner of just poor guitar player. (like me!)

I bought this from Electrohill in London, for £65. I needed something that would have a decent range of effects, and would go with my Peavey Rage 158 amp.

Metal, acoustic, clean, distortion, wah, all sound good. You can give it a room or hall effect to it. The tuner is really helpful. Plus it can push up the volume on any amp. When jaming with drums and bass, the metal sound is so good.

You can't jump from one effect to another, without reseting all the digits on each option. The inputs for the leads, aren't practible. When you do jump from one effect, theres a little pause between each one. When you want to change a tone option, you have to do it by hand, which isn't practible when stand…

When you want to change a tone option, you have to do it by hand, which isn't practible when standing up, and using your foot. And you can't adjust the feedback.

It's built quite well. It's not totally easy to use though. However it gives out some really good tones.

I'd save a bit more, and get the Zoom 606, which comes with an actually foot pedal, and more options. The 505II isn't a total loss though.

I aquired this because I was using my shitty overdrive in the 10 Wat "amp" (if it is an "amp"). :)

For about 80$ US (in 2002)

I like the choice of the effects.
It does'nt have many but ITS OK.

The Distortions are Good.

I dont like it because it's PLASTIC!!!

You need to mess up with this thing at least for 1 month untill you get the "HEAD"
of this thing.

Its Compact and nice looking Afordable 2.

The first 6 months I had this thig the buttons started not to work.

YOU'R NOT RICH ENOUGH TO BUY CHEAP STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EVERY DISTORTION OR EFFECT NEED'S AND EQUALIZER TO SOUND LIKE YOU WANT IT TO SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…

I wanted something to give my guitar more sounds. I had a cheap entry level ibanez with H-S-S configuration. the Gio series one. I was playing it thru a peavy blazer 158 and it just sounded cheap and small. well I didn't have much to spend so I looked at this, and when I played it it had lots and lots of sounds. oh and I payed $79 for it and I think another $50 for optional experssion pedal.

Lots of options. good selection. good effects, good control with the effects pedal. mangable wah..everything sounds like it should.

The distortion sucks I think. and the sound goes from really loud on one to quiet on the other. it picks up any noise if anything hits it. often on the accousti…

The distortion sucks I think. and the sound goes from really loud on one to quiet on the other. it picks up any noise if anything hits it. often on the accoustic the low e just sudenly sounds HUGE and overpowers the rest of the unit. weird stuff. it has only one out so you need to use a y cable or headphones to hear the stereo stuff like chorus. and the ac adapter is like another 30 dollars.

its "space age plastic" metal bottom. the battery compartment is on the bottom and easy to get to. my all purpose ac adapter hasn't fried it. the knobs are all easy to use. just don't expect too much on the stage option switching. its small and stuff.

you pay for what you get. its good for the couple pedals you could replace with it, but you can't get all the inbetween settings that you could with a regular stomp box without the expression pedal. plus the tuner isn't bad. probally the best parts are the tuner and the flanger and phaser.

Multi analog effect, 33 effects: comp, limit, wah, 12 distos, EQs, phase noise sup, chorus, flanger, dubling, trem, step, cry, pitch, ring, slow attack, delay, echo, hall, room, ampsim.
Patch use Program 36 (6 banks of 6 patches), nine simultaneous effects, auto-chromatic tuner, power supply batteries or mains, connections jack, stereo output (headphones), between 01 footswitch or expression pedals.
plastic case, I'm afraid to break it when I serve.

UTILIZATION

Use trs trs simple, it is positioned on a patch, you put in and all the effects are valid.
the volume of each patch and indpandant, practice.
All rglages is with 2 + and - buttons prcis not at all, it lacks knob.

The manual is clear trs, say nothing of the cot.

SOUND QUALITY

Frankly not that good ...
I do no distortion, it dja rgl. the compressor and the blast is wahwah Tagus.
The pitch does not have a third and the lack of tremolo ... tremolo.
So I used the flanger, chorus and delay / reverb are not evils.
For the tuner, I unplug my guitar prfre carrment for my good old tuner needle.
But the worst part is the change of patch and bypass: each manipultions, the sound is cut for half a second! What a blank.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had six months, and I think it's been too long. is the first multi effect j'achte, I admit it is not expensive, but after trying the pedals and racks, I will rather change against a chorus and delay, which will a great job. It must be said that costs less than a ZOOM pedals properly.
The best thing of the device is the headphone jack Stereo. You can always snapping of the rope while your wife watches Star Academy ... The ZOOM 505 II can save your couple!

Honestly, that's good. We will say that the configuration requires a lot of time (especially the equalizer) adaptation, and calibration.
The presets are long to achieve, but at least it's clean!
The manual, it only serves to understand the ZNR. Lol. You can imagine how complicated it is to use it, right?

The sounds are realistic, and with the ZNR we have no paras. Useful live, forget the studio ... The sound n'estpas pushed enough to be registrable.

All in all sounds fine, except the distortion "distortion", just too messy and too much treble to be bearable. And, please, tell me how the distortion "Blues" are blues? The fuzz is dirty, but tolerable.
The stereo delay is sympatoche, as a bonus.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two years, she did not let go, and I was charged € 15 extra for the industry. Coupled with my Boss Heavy Distortion is a beautiful couple.
Easy to use, but its Immix, it is + / - the most significant.
The price I paid (75 € 15 € the sector) was not bad, but buy the pedal at the same time, this could mean fewer worries.
And with experience, I will not repeat that choice.

it does not send a stupid but it works, albeit with a peak incidence in recurrent upper midrange, right or downright stifling a gaping hollow sound (despite hours and hours of adjustments ...).

Even with the possibilities of the AW16G, it is nasal, it whines more than that sings, especially on the high strings.
In clean, several solutions are effective.
Distos settings are pre-listed for my taste, to each his own. But we will not simulate properly with that lamp. Just a hubbub just acceptable at times.

OVERALL OPINION

Well, not much has been said about this machine.
But apart from being in stereo, there are almost all distos the first 505, including "DIST", which, on the old fair, is "worse than if it was worse" here!
By 2 against which a new distos "MS", is held ... simul 'Marshall?
Well it is far from just Marshall. Or Mesa? ditto ...

And this distortion "MS" seems to me the only truly useful, others are drooling, screaming or just plain yucky ...., and despite all the settings, because it is sizzling over 9/10Khz, even by cutting the top spectrum with Eq, so it's not really a good simulation, or simply a good sound.
In clean, one can find his life following his style, being patient and without abusing effects.

A nice little device nonetheless given its price, to start, but get tired faster if you are music lover or a bit demanding.
Live, tested once, he acted honestly, without more, always with the same config directly into the PA system.

Not working in the studio and recording in the AW16G Dtd, we'll sell it all and move to the Pod XT or tubeman, hopefully. Unless a large metals with the radical solution for the large metal Dtd? I thanked him for me to communicate, I'm sick and tired of buying / selling all the time ...

UTILIZATION

Using the Zoom 505 MK II isn’t hard in any sense of the word. It is pretty fool proof as all you’ve got to do is pick your effect and choose what you would like to do with it. The pedal has up and down buttons to scroll through the presets and your settings if you have them saved. There is also a button for storing and for going through the bank and tuning calibration. Other than this, there isn’t all that much to work with, so unless you’re having problems with the storing settings or something like that, I don’t think you need the assistance of a manual.

SOUND QUALITY

The sounds on the Zoom 505 II aren’t exactly great, but for experimenting with different effects and getting your feet wet with them. It offers up a cheap pedal with a whole slew of different effects, including distortion, compression, phase, wah, delay, reverb, and on and on. There isn’t all that much control over each of these, but there are some adjustable parameters for each. The sound quality of the effects in general, comes off very digital sounding and not very full at all. It isn’t suitable for any professional, but like I said, for a beginner it will do the job.

The cheap price of the Zoom 505 II is definitely the best part of this pedal, as they’re offering up a whole slew of effects within a cheap, compact, pedal. The pedal is very light, and easily portable. However, unless you are new to effects and are just looking for a cheap pedal to get started with, I’d stay away from the Zoom 505 II.
