I wanted effects for my electric guitar but I didn't have enough money to afford a whole line of stomp boxes. For example I really like delays, fuzz/distortion and wah effects. For a good digital delay alone I found I would need $180-220. Add-on distortion and wah and I was looking at $290-330 depending on brand selection (I mostly priced Boss, Ibanez, Dunlop, Morley, DOD and Danelectro branded stomp boxes). A friend of mine bought a Digitech (unsure of model number) for almost $400 which had all the effects I wanted and more. The Digitech was too expensive and my friend said it was too difficult to manipulate the effects. The instruction manual is thick and full of technical languange. I wanted something to plug in a jam on right away that sounded the way I wanted, something affordable and user-friendly. I found the Zoom gfx707 at a small independently owned shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It costed $180 and features effects like distortion, phaser, tremelo, delay, echo, ring, vibrato and more. It has a expression pedal which can be assigned to control variables in a wide range of effects including wah-wah, volume control and delay time/rate. It even includes 24 pre-programmed play along drum beats with variable tempo. The sound quality is very good. Certainly the Digitech line of effects sound better, for twice the price. So for those of you who buy the cheap guitar cords because the Monsters are too much and are the least of your sound quality worries; I recommend Zoom multi-effect guitar processors.


I realize I didn't follow the form but I said what I needed to in the first secion. I didn't see these boxes below yet. Hope you can use it somehow as is.

Christmas Present

This unit is good because it covers a wide variation of effects. It has everything from the normal stuff like distortions and wah to a talk box.

The effects lack guality. There's not that much choice or variation in each individual effect. They dont sound as good as single pedals. Also, the sampler is only 6 seconds, which is barely enough to fit a single riff in. The amp simulator that it has only has 2x4 amp models. 4 models with an A/B version of each (B is louder and fuller). Lastly, the pedal is kinda hard to push down fully either way.

Its made of plastic and is fairly well built. I wouldn't recomend it for a long road trip.

This unit works very well at giving you a wide selection of effects. Having more effects lessens the quality of effects. It is good for the beginner/intermediate player to use at home when practicing. (That's how i use it.)

My first multi- (or for that matter any-) effects pedal, I received this unit for Christmas. My dad got it from ActiveMusician.com for about $140, plus about $25 for the ac adapter (not included). I had researched products in its price range on the internet, and decided that this one would be the best deal, but neither Musician's Friend (mail-order/online store) nor the local music retailer here in Eugene, OR had it. I found it with an internet search on this obscure site I'd never heard of before (Active Musician) but they delivered it promptly and with no trouble.

Large variety of effects, and each is customizable for an almost endless variety of sounds. A good starter pedal for those like myself who are inexperienced in the ways of effects, I don't know what a lot of the different effects are, so I wouldn't know what to get if I were to go out and get single effects. For the price of 2 or 3 single effects, I get a whole truckload to play around with and pick my favorites out of.

None of the effects are spectacular. It doesn't have the greatest distortion, nor the greatest flanger, nor the greatest phaser, nor the greatest... But it's got a servicable one of everything at least. Also, many of the better (in my opinion) patches are in the user set, and I don't want to overwrite them, whereas the ones I'm not that fond of are in the preset bank that can't be edited.

Plastic. I'm a bit careful around this product, just because it's so lightweight, it FEELS like it might be fragile. I've not noticed any actual damage to the unit, though, it just seems fragile. I use it barefoot in my bedroom at night a lot, and it doesn't beat up on bare feet, nor do shoes tear up the pedals when I've got them on.

It's fun to play around with. Lots of fun to play around with. Kind of a jack-of-all-trades type of pedal, with one of everything, though a mediocre one of everything. Good pedal to help you decide what effects you like, then go out and buy a few single effects, better quality pedals with just your favorite effects.

the unit has many presets and an expression peddle.It has large knobs that are easy to use.the display is very big and brightly illuminated.Many user made presets are available on the internet.Great valu for money.simple sampler.simple drum machine.tuner included

the in and out sockets could be labled better.there is so much packed into one unit it seems a little complcated to use. I dont know how you could use this unit live. some of the sounds are a little cheesy.

plastic construction which may not take hard abuse but the unit feel quite solid.

very good value for money.lots of things to play with and keep you amused.never used it live but it is great for the studio. I may buy the sister unit for my bass.

I currently own a Fender Squire Stratocaster, and i know it isn't the best guitar on the market, so instead of spending all that money (which i haven't got)on a new one, i thought getting an effex pedal would spice it up. I therefore went to Charing Cross (In London) which is really good for musical products, and then asked around for the best buy within my budget. It all came down to one. The Zoom GFX 707.This looked the buisiness, coming with a pedal and stored in drum beats. As soon as i came home i logged on to this web-site, looked at the reviews they gave it, and once convinced, i bought it for £79 through a guitar magazine i bought.

This cool machine can take you into another dimension. The variety of sounds are unbeleivable and what makes it really stand out, is the variety of drum beats stored in it, from jazz to thrash metal. I still haven't found out everything it can do yet, but hey,discovering new things is all part of the fun!

I find it hard to critisise this masterpeice, but after thinking long and hard, i can only come up with that it has too many distortion sounds, of which could be replaced with more original effects.

This slick little machine is nice and compact, making it easy to carry and the weight of it is comfortable, making it feel actually real and not like a toy.It also looks very proffessional and strong. The pedal and selector buttons are easy to use with just the tread of a foot. The display is very clear and this is user-friendly and makes your guitar playing alot easier.

I want to say a massive thank you to Zoom for their quality and cheaper products. I now can play to my favourite songs to the extreme, and when I am on my own, I simply select which drum beat I want, and away i go! My final conclusion is that anyone who wants endless fun on the guitar should not hesitate in trying this cool, fun, slick yet proffessional device.

I bought this effects unit online (I forget where) for $130.00. The reason I chose this was the good reviews I had read on Harmony Central's website.

For the money, this unit can't be beat! It has some pretty good effects; distortion, chorus, reverb, delay, flanger, wah, and too many others to list here. I think this unit surpasses some other multi-FX pedals in its price range because it has built-in drum beats. These are extremely useful for developing good timing and are often an inspiration for new licks or songs.

The majority of the other effects are kinda useless, but most of the ones listed above were satisfactory. The wah unit is controlled by an infrared LED and needs resetting sometimes, but that's easy to do. Another drawback are the bad factory presets for most of the patches. While you can tweak all of them to your own tastes, you can only use 30
of the the 60 done how you like them. I think the only other bad thing is the red LED display- you can't see the thing in sunlight at all. Great for dimly lit rooms, though.

It's durable plastic, but the 1/4 in. jacks are, too, so you have to be careful with them. The unit seems pretty rugged despite that. Good quality sounds.

A great deal for a beginner guitarist. This thing hasn't let me down yet. Can't beat the price, neat little portable unit for anyone. (It takes 4 AA batteries, or uses a wall wart.)

Bought it from O'Sheas Music, Dalby, Queensland, Australia. I saw the Zoom Rep Demo it and was impressed with the quality and functions for the reasonably low price of AU$300.

I think the Zoom GFX707 is an ideal entry level unit to multi effects units. It has a good range of sounds and can be easily programmed. It also has built in functions such as a tuner, drum machine/ metronome as well as a 6 second phrase sampler to work out those hard riffs.

Although the casing is well constructed and quite tough the input and output jacks are abit flimsy. The array of sounds, whilst ideal for the beginner or garage band, would be limiting possibly even unsuitable for professional artists.

The casing is very sturdy. It can take my weight and I weigh about 150kg. As i said The in/out put jacks are abit flimsy and I have known several people who have had to have theirs replaced under warranty. If you take care though they hold up.

Overall, this is a very neat unit aimed successfully at the beginner to intermediate player. I enjoy owning mine and I am confident they can provide hours of fun and help to take you to the next level in your playing.

Well...I went Looking for a new effects processor with £100 in cash.....i was looking for the akai pedal board models.......i basically wnated something that kicked the ass of my Zoom 505 and its rubish distortion sound also i was eager to get my hands on an expression pedal........so i went to my local music shop and got the 2nd hand akai's,boss' etc...... finally there was the om 707....a second hand version at only £65 ....i tried it out and was delighted with its Neo-Grunge Sound.....so i explored more and more of this box...and came acroos the wah wah ....wow..its was really good!!!! so anyway i bought it......i have used it live....and in the studio its great...even when i have the money for expensive pedal boards i can assurre u this box wont be going!

I just purchased the gadget 1 month ago at a local guitar shop because i want to add it to my effects list..i paid $90

I own a Boss MT-2, Digitech Whammy , Zoom 505,505II,510,1010,4040. I like zoom bec. its affordable. What i like about the Gfx 707 is the new features, it features a sampler, a jam play , and rhytym drum beats. Its fun to toggle the effects especially when your a guitar freak. I love to experiment with the distortion, modulation and pedal effects. Pedal effects are cool especially the wah.I also like the price because its just right. A multi effects pedal that you might find it with a reasonable price.

Its sampler function is only six seconds..which is a really big disapointment to my case..but anyway its stil worth it!

Well....abut the quality maybe i'll give it a 9 out of 10..its hard casing of plastic just give the right durable feel of a multi effects pedal.

For all of you guitar lovers out there...the GFX 707 is the coolest multi effects pedal i've ever seen..Why? because of its affordable price and its a compact pedal board. Need I say more? I rest my case.

I purchased the GFX 707 about a year ago from Bill's music in Peabody Mass.I paid about
$130.00 and it's worth every penny!
I'm in a band that plays predominantly cover material and needed a selection of sounds to emulate the covers as close as possible

I specifically was looking for a talk box at the time of purchase. I not only found an effect in the GFX 707 that came pretty close to what I was looking for, I also found a pretty vast array of sounds available to me.
I particularly like the drum machine option which is great for practicing scales and timing. The beats per minute can be increased or decreased depending on an individual's speed level. There are some effects I haven't even gotten around to using yet!
I give it a "5" out of a 1-5 rating especially for the price!!!!

The only thing I can think of is that there's almost too many effects. They are also rather difficult to access when playing live (part of this is due to the fact that I havent programmed them into an assigned bank yet.)


It looked a little fragile to me at first, so I made a road case for it. However, I like the unit so much that I bought another one for backup since we play out quite a bit.
The large LED display is great onstage, but is very hard to see in a daytime/outdoor setting.

Having never had an effects processor before, I was sceptical and cautious about spending too much $$$.
As I mentioned before, I find the GFX 707 worth every penny. For my current purposes, I'm using the talk box(F5), Van Halen (4.4), and Distortion (0.1) settings. It's nice to know that there are many more options and practice aids available in a cost consious unit

i brought this from allegro music chelmsford. i was in need of a pedal and this was in my budget. i paid £99.


this is very optional. there are so many different effects and features your guitar playing will change. distortion is brilliant the wah is brilliant basically the whole pedal is fantastic



the one thing i dislike is when changing from sounds. you have to program the pedal so you can access the sounds needed without any unwanted sounds. the problem is it is small they cannot fit a bank selector on which you can acess with your foot and you can only change sounds by going up and down.



the construction and quality is brilliant very strong and fashionable.

plug it in. ok easy. read the instructions. still feel lost. press a button, plug your guitar in. SWWQQQQUUUUUEEEELLLCCCHHHHH "OOOOOWWWWW" i scream, "TURN THAT DOWN NOOOOWWWWW"mom yells,the dog howls and the cat drops dead. press another button. the squeellcch turns to wooooooooooowwvvvvveeeeeeuuuoooo... by the time you get one effect working half way deceintly you legally deaf.

horrible. i think multi effects pedels stink. i play live so i have my wah chorus and compressor and i dont have to right click on that and press button 1,104 to get the damn thing to work. i guess if your patient and you are patient you can have fun with it.

I had already owned the zoom 505, but I was looking for an accent pedal when ZOOM came out with the 707. I traded in my 505 and paid another $100.00 CDN

This unit is GREAT for me. I can program sounds for any of the types of music I like to play. The amp selector works great for tweeking those sounds.Its fairly easy to program.The drum machine is a great bonus.

The AC adapter is crap. The cord is too short.It creates some annoying noises.Don't buy the one supplied, go to RADIO SHACK, they can set you up.

For the price this baby is well made.I don't recomend it for your next OZZY tour but for your average garage band or bedroom rocker this unit can't be beat.

I really like it. The GFX 707 is a compact unit that delivers. For the price of one pedal it gives you a hundred. Zoom you've done good.

I purchased the multieffects pedal at a store in Orlando,FL, called Discount Music. It was really cheap: 140 USD. I had already tracked it by the internet and then I visited the city on vacation, so I bought it. I chose this pedal because I thought it would be suitable for a begginer like me and it won´t get useless too soon. I was right !!


Like I said, it is great as your first experience with effects processors, and even if you are an intermediate player. Of course, if you´re Yngwe Malmsteen you´ll probably get bored. The key fact here is PRACTICE. This unit is not designed for stage jams. You could do it but the life of your pedal will reduce. Also, the features were specially thought for playing with your CD player, with yourself and with simple rhythm patterns. So, never had an effects pedal before so I liked it a lot.


Well, I would have liked the case to be more strong, but I guess that would have made it heavier, too.

Also, the sampler is too short. I never use it but some day I will experiment with it and I realize now that I won´t be able to arrange some good riffs to play along with.


The construction is good enough for your home practice sessions and the quality of the sound doesn´t disappoint you. I have never had a problem with the unit, but I strongly recommend to find something to cover it: The dust can affect its display and buttons.


I really think this is an excellent product from Zoom, regarding its price. Consider this option if you have been looking for some good processor FOR YOURSELF, at a very low price.

- It has an instrument input jack and a stereo output - mono.

UTILIZATION

-Use is quite simple, no need for them to know ... perfect for beginners or those who do not want to take the head.

SOUND QUALITY

-I 've tested the first time this effect on a good sound system, stereo sound was very present, with good depth in the effects of delay and wah wah coupled with a slight distortion.
-But on my amp (marshall AVT100) is something else ... especially regarding the "big" disto ... the sound will quickly suffocate ...

AC Preska concert becomes a suplies for the ears .... DON'TS therefore make the big distortion, for that, your better now possess the BOSS ME-50 and then have a special pedal

I use it for too longtps ... I can more ...
For lack of means, I had to have a pedal in an emergency Kaliti average Kwalitee compared with a super price!
Ca dir on anything!! Cheap for what it is!

but this is not a pedal to the scene, especially its level.

So if you want a cheap truk ki will serve you, so there is, sounds are correct, there bcp effects present, the OD is not bad, and the slight distortion as well.
To rock or funk sound is not bad at all, but if you want big sound, power and depth in your sound, you need a bigger wallet, and then invest in another pedal or amp ...
