Allen & Heath ZED-16FX

Table analog 16 channels, including 10 microphone inputs (XLR).
Complete connectivity inputs / outputs / inserts. 3 plus 1 auxiliary (internal effects), insert additional output (useful for connecting an equalizer general).
Ways microphones complete with phantom power (global) and low-cut semi-parametric EQ on the mids. PFL and mute on each channel faders slices 100 mm. The table is rack (see below). The power supply is integrated as one multi-effects (effective without breath, but not very intuitive)

UTILIZATION

This is a table of all there is more standard in terms of use: So simple, even for a semi-beginner, the manual provides the necessary information (unfortunately it is in B / W while pdf version on the manufacturer's website, is in color: Examples of routing schemes more readable).

SOUNDS

This is the big positive, the other being very serious aspect of the construction: the preamps are very transparent, with comfortable headroom if needed. No corrections breath and very effective: it can quickly get out of her beautiful, whatever the instrument that connects (drums, kick, bass, electric or acoustic guitars, vocals, for me). Multi-effects, like I wrote above, a little complicated (not clear) to adjust, but once used, it does its job, and without breath, which is appreciable.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 15 days, I spent a weekend alone with the beast to understand it well, and not a single disappointment yet. Also tested in rehearsal with my band, it looks promising for concerts. I use it with a pair of speakers active DAS DR12. It is primarily for our live sound.
I also have a table Yamaha MG16 / 6, cheaper, more comely (side "Christmas tree" ... nice, but lacking a bit of sobriety), but significantly less professional. Not bad little more (rack kit Integrated three subgroups equalizer output ... too simplified, more opportunities for monitoring and the power supply is separate), but in the end I do not regret that rack kit, and subgroups. There is no picture on the quality preamps, corrections, and possibly construction.
Just a word on the rack kit proposed by Allen & Heath: 50 € for 2 brackets, it's mean ... it's almost the price of a flight "amateur", but enough in a famous German distributor.
