Fulltone '69 MkII

I will go ahead and say it...this is Jimi Hendrix in a box. Of course you will need a Marshall plexi reissue of something similar like a Germino Monterey and with out a doubt a Fender Strat. This thing sounds exactly as it reads on the cover of the box.....'69. It sounds exactly like something right out of the rock playbook from the late 60's and early 70's.

SOUND QUALITY

This is not a Big Muff thick chewy type of fuzz box. It is somewhere in between the Big Muff and a normal overdrive pedal. So you get a fuzz tone but on the thinner side and closer to a distortion box than anything. At least that is how i hear it in my ears. The is based on the germanium transistor chips.

It has four control knobs that do quite a bit of tweaking for your tone. A level, bias, contour, and fuzz control knob. A Contour Knob lets you dial in Midrange, Harmonics and Sustain, also an Input Bias knob adjusts the EQ and gives great Overdrive/Distortion sounds when its level is reduced. This pedal is basically the same tone as the previous model but a newer case is really the only noticeable difference.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a great fuzz pedal that is a lot of fun to play with. If you fare on the side of light overdrive style of germanium transistor fuzz pedals then you will like this unit a whole lot. If you want something straight out of Smashing Pumkins then you will need a Electro Harmonics Big Muff. The Big Muff will be a whole lot thicker and rounder. This pedal will drive your amp's front end more and add sustain and a light fuzz tone. At new these come in right at $169.

This is a fuzz which includes two germanium transistors like old fuzz 60's-70's. Metal enclosure, four knobs, volume, fuzz and two grandchildren, input and contour. A true-bypass switch is solid and it exudes serious is handmade in the USA.

UTILIZATION

With 4 knobs should get out, it's not too complicated. Once the destination of each knob is considered on its setting and selected before .....
The volume used to adjust the overall output level of the pedal, fuzz fuzz level is like a famous cheese is written above!! input setting is a little "preamp" the more you put over 69 'will be "fuzzy", this is not a defect, some love it. Contour adjustment will bring the pedal and midrange clarity. My favorite setting: fuzz almost fully, input to 13h and 12h contour, it adjusts the volume for the general level.

SOUND QUALITY

Side sounds to me this is the holy grail of fuzz, I loved this pedal from the first moments. This is the fuzz sound I was looking for, my opinion may be subjective, of course! With simple and Strat attack on the register without problem Hendrix, anything goes, Purple Haze, Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Chile etc ... In addition, this pedal reacts very slowly with the guitar volume, we get to get a clear carefree and nothing to spoil it blends beautifully with wha. With double it also works perfectly, listen to the solo on PAGE whole lotta love with this pedal you happen to get this fuzzy sound, similar to the ZZ TOP is nickel.

OVERALL OPINION

She is beautiful, it sounds great, it should be compared with other fuzz market in the same vein of the Bonamassa Dunlop for example, or others, I have not had the opportunity, the only fuzz I had tried all this side "razor", very sharp that I did not like the swollen pickel in the Way Huge, fuzz factory in the Z-vex. Here is always very musical. It is difficult to restore a sound impression with words, I'm getting it triper this fuzz!
Only downside ...... the exorbitant price € 215 on average it is abused. The states it is sold around $ 170 with the exchange rate it's not even € 130???? There's like something's wrong there, right? Intermediaries and importers fill their pockets. As hah! We will not argue here. If you're a fan of the 60's-70's sounds, Hendrix and others and if you find OCCAZ go for, this pedal is worth seeing.
