What configuration (interface, computer, etc) do you use with this DAW?
    • iMac 27" from 2009 with 4 GB of Ram, a 1TB internal hard drive + 1 TB external hard drive, with Windows Seven installed in dual boot.

For what kind of use or music?
    • Composition in a Home Studio context.

    Is it stable?
    • Relativly.

    Is it CPU intensive?
    • No. I never used it with a lot of tracks. As of now, it works quite well.

    • No. I never used it with a lot of tracks. As of now, it works quite well.

    Is the DAW's manual comprehensive?
    • Yes, and no in the same time. Yes, as the manual features tons of pages. No, in the sense that it's all exclusively in English, which can be a problem for non-native speakers. There are also video tutorials (in English too) on their website.

Is the DAW straightforward and easy to get started?
    • It is for basic use. For the rest, as usual, you have to read the manual.

How would you rate the sound quality of the effects, instruments and sounds included with this DAW?
    • As a whole, it sounds good.

    Are they sufficient?
    • To me, they are.

What are the pros and cons of this DAW?
    • (+) The very attractive price. Especially the update fees (€134 to get from Sonar X3 Producer to the Platinum version)
    • (+) The included plugins.
    • (+) The user interface.
    • (-) No worthy MIDI part editor (very much on demand at CakeWalk)
    • (-) Demande un grand écran.
    • (-) No Mac version.

What unique features made you choose this DAW over others?
    • Its price. I started with Sonar x2 Studio and updates after updates, as the price is quite reasonable, one can get to the most expensive version without spending too much.
    • The number of included plugins.
