    Nice Piece

Orange Tiny TerrorPublished on 04/08/16 at 14:25
    - Used at home and on stage,
    - almost too powerful for home usage unless you want to fry your neighbors
    - deliver a powerful organic sound that can get dirty quite quickly
    - Heavy and robust
    - Nothing fancy with it, Gain , master bass and treble..
    - Missa a Mediuml for sound coloring

    The sound ...
With a Marshall AFD 100 signatures, I think we get closer to using this amp orange.
Relatively simple for those who want to speed more quickly.

    And really, it's off.
It is found between the JCM 800 more dry, with I know not what 70/80.
In crunch, not bad at all, responds to finger in the desired drive
In saturated, really good, great solo, chord and rhythm perfect.

It is the rock and he does it well.

After that, you must know how to play the guitar with knobs.
In standard Les Paul, I have three sons:

    - A saturated bridge pickup with volume and tone at 10 to 10
    - A micro intermediare his solo
    - A crunch in the neck pickup with volume 5/6 and 9 tone

on the other hand, lowering the volume of the guitar, you lose are acute with the Les Paul, very strange.

Something that sends well enough volume of repetition for the concert, thinking about the transplant at 57 or 906 on a sound system.

    I traded against a JCM 2000 + Consideration. Thank you to Eric's 38 .... beautiful musical encounter;
I regret nothing. He is constantly in the process of heating the studio.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a very short time.

I'll put another screw within 6 months with more perspective.
I love being able to carry it all the time there is a baffle available (preferably in vintage 30.

    Excellent value for money.

    I recommend.

15W lamps can be used in 7W

    UTILIZATION

I use it with a small cabinet Vox Night Train with a Celestion Greenback

I was looking for something to replace my Vox AC-30, too powerful and too big: the volume is reasonable for the house, but can easily cover a drummer in rehearsal, and it weighs ... 7kg, finished pétages back at each concert.

This is definitely an amp simple: you plug it sounds. What else?

    SOUNDS

This amp is built for rock seventies, with a crunch / distortion down to Mark Bolan and Mick Ronson (guitar respectively T-Rex and Bowie period 70) would not be denied. When you drop a little gain on the intermediate positions of a strat gives sounds very interesting rhythm (listen to the rhythm at the end of the song "Fields of Joy" by Lenny Kravitz to give you an idea), with a little more acute, it is perfect for riffs "Stoniens" (try the riff of "Jumping Jack Flash" of stones or "Bohemian Like You" Dandy Warhols ... <3). Micro doubles, it approaches the sound of his lordship Jack White (I fan? Nooo :)), moreover I saw that he used small heads in the same spirit on his last tour, everything that to say that riffs like "Sixteen Salteen" or "Tick Tick Boom" Hives are above ... Waooh!

For the rest, the big metal sounds are not strong point (it's good, I either do not like the metal), some dishes are clean, but acceptable. I think what is most lacking is a good reverb.

In two words: a lot of his character ... I personally looove!!

    OVERALL OPINION

As I said, I wanted something light, not too strong but still enough to cover a drummer, and has the personality to replace my AC 30 (the series "Made in China" 2009 to be precise).

I have tried tons and tons of amps before buying the AC 15 Blues Junior through the Laney Lionheart (very good also, but a little over my budget and heavy) or Blackstar ... and I finally cracked this little head. Needless to say, the sound has nothing to do with AC 30 or what I wanted to begin with (except maybe the English side), but what fishing is rock'n'roll through Nail.

With a short week experience I remake this choice :)

I put 9 because only purchase a fuse burned out after 20 minutes of play, after the opinion of the seller, I changed it since everything is fine ... insha'allah!

For a vintage guitar (gretsh / strat single coil ...), I set my knobs as follows:
Gain 12:05 / 12:10 to Eq / volume between 8 and 10 depending on location.
I get a slightly crunch I just make clean by lowering the volume of the guitar.
For a more punchy guitar (EMG kit for example): lamps saturates much faster and we get a little its almost métallien.

    For saturation, I use a TS9 ... a treat with this amp!

I think this amp is suitable for all styles except anything related to metal or while using the pedals fit but then I have not tried.

If you like the "Orange" you will not be disappointed, there is no question here of a tangerine ^ ^ The power is there!

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than 6 months and I do not regret my purchase, it is left in my stack for some time I think.

What I like: the BIG SOUND everywhere / weight-space.
What I like least: no effects loop ... because he really should find something.

NB: try the combo version, the HP is incredible.

This is a tube amp running on el84s. It has a 2 way switch to go from 7 to 15 watts. Settings are simple: volume, tone, gain. Cool carrying bag!

    UTILIZATION

Super easy to dial in a great sound! The lack of controls and switches creates a super clean line that delivers Orange tone in spades. I never read the manual as the operation is totally intuitive.

    SOUNDS

I have guitars from Gibson, Epiphone, and Fender. They each sound fantastic, but my favorite is the Les Paul going into an MXR overdrive (little gain applied) right into the amp. I put this little head on a 4x12 and played lead guitar in a band where the rhythm player played his Peavey XXX. The XXX is known as a LOUD…

The XXX is known as a LOUD amp, but this 15 watt amp easily kept right up in practice volumes in a LOUD punk/hard roc band. Very impressive! I had an Egnater Tweaker and a Randall rm20 and this 15 watt terror was clearly more powerful. I guess 15 watts does not always equal 15watts? Clarity and unique Orange british tone is the drawing card on this amp.

    OVERALL OPINION

I love the simple great tone of this small beast. throw a 57 on this and you have a great rock tone that cuts through the mix- live and in the studio. Here's a couple of tunes I used all Terror>Marshall 1960>(2) 57s>Roland vs2480
    http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=8794611
    http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=8794615

This tone is unique and may not be for everyone...but it definitely has the signature Orange mids and presents great clarity and articulation.
The value is great bang for your buck for Orange tone seekers. t is not a modern chainsaw machine, so people looking for the rectifier buzz should look elsewhere. There are no channel switching abilities, but using the guitar volume with a pedal boost will give a seasoned player lots of option on stage. Ideally, this amp is for the bedroom player who can carry his amp to practice on a NY subway.

Great sounds at low volumes, enough power to keep up in a loud band, and clear tone make this a great deal. if you need more gain in a metal band, or perhaps cleaner Fender-ish tones, this is not the amp. Straight ahead great rock sounds is the forte here.

    UTILIZATION

    Very very simple.

    SOUNDS

From clean to distortion. The clean sound is OK but not extraordinary. As previous reviews, the sounds are the crunch and saturated field of tiny. A good dynamic tone control very effective. The gain has merits, it's really saturated with double windings. I love the sounds. Needs not pedal! Good thing the pedals distos I tried, as has already been said in other reviews, not with the top head. I do not know why, but nothing to do with my other amps. on the other hand, my time, set light goes perfectly.

The Orange Tiny Terror is a 15 watt tube head that perpetuated the whole "lunch box" amplifier craze. It's been out for a few years now and many amps from companies like VOX, Traynor, Mesa Boogie, H&K, etc have come after. It's powered by EL84 tubes and is a single channel amplifier with no onboard effects.

    UTILIZATION

Dialing in this amp is easy or difficult depending on what you're looking for. I personally found this amp just to sound too loose and fuzzy for what I was looking to do. I understand that's kinda the voice Orange is known for, but still I wasn't much impressed with it. There's very few controls to work with, so if you like the tone of the amp at its core, you really get that sound regardless of where you set your amp controls. However if you're not a fan of the tone of the amp, there isn't much you can do to change it...

    SOUNDS

This amp seems to sound closest to how I'd like through a Celestion Greenback loaded cabinet of some repute. The higher wattage speakers I tried with this amp just made it sound a bit too clean for my rock n' roller self (at least for the project I was using it for at the time). However the major issue I had with this amp was that is just seemed to have this fuzzy sort of quality when it was turned up. It wasn't one that I particularly find attractive for standard hard rock tones as it caused the definition of chords to be lost amid the gain/saturation. I had much better luck running the amp fairly clean and using one of my drive pedals to hit it, which keep the amp sounding reasonably smooth with high gain. I could see that loose and saturated vibe working for some people, but it just was not for me.

    OVERALL OPINION

All in all I think the Orange Tiny Terror is a mixed bag. On one hand I applaud Orange for getting out there and doing something different that really works well for practice and jamming/transport. However the voicing of it just turned me off too much for my liking. I've had MUCH better luck with the VOX Night Train (great clean sounds and a fantastically thick and clear drive sound that was exactly what I wanted the Tiny Terror to be and more recently the Hughes and Kettner Tubemeiser 18, which is even more versatile and offers a dedicated clean channel as well. The Orange is about $550 new which isn't a bad deal, but in my position, I would just buy either the VOX or H&K unless you're after the particular voicing of the Tiny Terror.

For the size of a lunch box this little amp pacts quite a kick to it. This amp looks like something you would walk to school with and be carrying your peanut butter sandwich in. Orange has taken such a small but positive approach to lunch box style amplifiers. There seems to be a trend going on with manufacturers hitting a market that seems like a good entry way into their flagship amplifiers.

The amp has that familiar British grind that you found in the 60's and 70's went they were the leaders in getting high gain sustain from their guitar rigs. This little box does what a full stack can do in a pint size proportion. It sounds fantastic and gets chewier and smoother…

This little box does what a full stack can do in a pint size proportion. It sounds fantastic and gets chewier and smoother as you hit it harder with more volume.

    UTILIZATION

    Features

    Controls: gain, tone, volume
Features: 1.5 mm Zintec chassis with steel vented top case.
    Includes padded gig bag
    Output: 15W 'Class A'; 7W 'Class A'
    Valves: Preamp - 2 x 12AX7; Output - 2 x EL84

    SOUNDS

Though the Orange amps have a familiar British flavor to them I think that anyone would be surprised at how big and bold the tone is from this small box. Though is is rated at only 15 watts it gets quite loud and will accompany most small clubs or gigging situations quite nicely. There is no compromise of tone or quality in this amp. Is sounds as huge tonal wise as any of the larger more frequented amps that Orange makes.

Try this guitar out with a Les Paul and you be pleasantly surprised out how meaty the tone is from simply a Gain, Tone, and Volume knob. This thing can be dropped down to a 7 watt operation for home use or even recording. It sounds great in either setting you have.

    OVERALL OPINION

Many manufacturers have now saw the overwhelmingly positive result that Orange got from this and are now doing the same thing. Mesa Boogie released one last year as well as Vox. Hughes and Kettner is releasing one this year and you'll see that in the trade shows real soon. There has been an untapped market for these little light weight but heavy punch high gain amplifiers. I would recommend this amp to anyone who needs pint size amp with a kick. At new these amps come in at a round $599. Great bang for your buck in these harsh economic times.

And those who find my discourses is that of someone who is compltement fan of this brand and our answer is not objective I: THE WAY TO SING and will sing your wallet ... !

Well I have 10. OK this is not the amp perfect, but it is perfect in its range of small head, low-power single-channel!

I had no manual, but why bother?
Comes with a carrying case my faith very nice.

8 / 10 (jpeux use the Journe: no headphone jack)

    SOUNDS

Sound level, this is my first amp so I lamps rferences not too much to compare but what I can tell you is that it sends wood!
I plug in my Squier Telecaster Obey (with hambucker and a single Duncan Designed) and I had a dj fucking hard rock distortion. What sound, heat lamps, is a rgal play. Do not rely on its low power, acoustic pressure in the end it DGIG is important (even become damaged ears) of sudden I'm playing with a volume close to 0.
And unlike what I've read, like what an amp that c'tait n'tait not for clean sounds, I'm not all agree, we can play very well with clean in apart, although the risk can be cruncher if we play with Moon, or Bonahm Grohl: D
It's true that the field is the prdilction Overd vintage. Targets as many as you say he excels.
In my opinion, mtalleux go your way ...

    OVERALL OPINION

It's been long enough that I have to complte a review. But what I know is that it's good amp magnifies the sound properly. It's muy bonito!
The Tiny Terror is aptly named, a beast that roars, but a bb that can tame compared to animals scnes Messa, Marshall, etc..
So basically, what I love most, the sound, the mouth, and the least poverty of the most connections (srieux what a headphone jack!) But that's what makes him an amp single strong personality ...

I saw when I started guitar and I thought I was Angus Young and many of the sound I was 70 years old ... What the true rock (with still a larger gain when pushed). the thing is that the gain is very fat cruncher but many acute and super precise, the grain is really unusual and enjoyable. as one of the previous opinion, we rediscover what the rock: a guitar and a baflle playing with the volume knob .. BEYOND scratching the shit for MIDI and multi-channel. For my part with the three-quarter gain: about 81 coupled with the emg I put half the volume and background for the chorus and solo (there is a scratch in my group). for the part I put in clear EMG 90 has 1 or 2 depending on the desired clarity. Be careful though ca crunch a bit but that's what great because it must manage the touch of a mediator and it has its roots which is terrible. blues solos for EMG 90 has 3 or 4 and it is hell. not need reverb. a former I tell you!

    SOUNDS

For rock, blues, crunch, which Funck. the metal is possible with a boost but it would be more fish than to do with tt.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for one day! but what a day! I precise that there are two versionsdu tt. former Korean made new in China, because before buying I asked the question whether the first was better or not. bein I know. I have new sounds and the fire of God anyway!
ps: this kind of small gille bread on a mesa 2x12 and more class too.

But he accepts a distortion pedal, even if the difference is not huge when you have already pushed back the gain.

However, my reverb pedal been very psychedelic when the volume is below 10, which is almost forced when you push the overdrive.
    Configurations very common in apartments.

I bought the Orange 1X12 cabinet that is "designed" for it is a simple box with a Celestion G12-30 vintage inside that I would replace a well ElectroVoice.

Because the firm orange ppc112 problem. I tested the amp on a different HP and it is 100 times better. The all orange is to be avoided, at least to my ears. The reason is that the amp privileged certain frequencies, especially in medium and firm hold on these frequencies is and enough is enough, or the sound of "pot".
The pc112 to look nice, I just vaix him change the wafer against a good old ElectroVoice.

Engl well on the metal pushes the record with much more ease, however the Orange possde prsence a standard in terms of frequencies and greatly needed!
It is simply amazing, certainly sound incredible but is not clear rponds expectations of a tube amp in good order. When the crunch Dfine, you fall in the rve! Prcis sound, round, warm and answer each shot mdiator! It likes to play with low light shots "gratouilloux" and insists that ds is dropped on a hot saturated and simply captivating! Each riff become a rve!
And if you want to play a little one pushes the gain 3 / 4 and then we get a rock sound worthy of the greatest!

Once this little amp branch tape on the wall! With three-button you get a range of sounds more than wide and intoxicating! I play on TriAxis Mesa / Mesa 50-50 normally, but I started having doubts about my config, c has to say! The only downside for me is the lack of channel clean / overdrive ... How we do when we alternate Clair / Satu? Good for the price you can buy 2 hh It will remain cheaper than a Mesa head even when at least as much fun!

    - Volume knob, Tone, Gain and ... that's all.

    Plug'n'play!

    UTILIZATION

As for the simplicity of the config ', and the need of the manual, the number of knobs speaks for itself - I believe it.

I put 10, because you branches, you heat it, it sounds.

    So here's the interesting part.

Yes, yes, yes, a hundred times yes, the TT suits my style of music. I play rock / metal songs as, with my band, and it fits perfectly.

My config, in order: Lag Roxanne RM 200, Boss GE-7, Rocktron Silver Dragon, Cry Baby 535Q, the TT and his cabinet PCC112.

If I mailed the notice is to fight against prejudice. No, the TT is not, if you will, designed to produce crystal clear sound at a level sufficient to sound to the Stade de France, but in repeats and on stage (tested this weekend at the Nouveau Casino) it passes. For sure, I did not like sound of a Fender, but I have not purchased it. In my microphone splitter (passive), with the gain at noon, I have a clear sound on the verge of rupture, dynamic, warm and plump, very pleasant.

And when j'enclenche the disto ... Mazette. My distortion pedal revives, revived my guitar is extra. It's hot, greasy but always precise harmonics out with ease ... I finally feel that the knobs on my guitar being used for something else all the time fully.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for almost a month, and live again. For the apartment 'is too strong.

It is clear that if you are looking for a Fender clean sound, buy a Fender. The TT is not there for that. on the other hand, for (almost) everything else ... With the equation alone, and pushed into a corner, the beast would almost for the old-school metal. Besides, I do not blame the head or his simplistic equation single channel: it's like a Ferrara blame to go fast, there's a paradox.

I said that this is my first all-tube, and notice is affected. This is the first time that I get as much as a group, that I finally have a place in the mix is extra.

I had it all (head + cabinet) for 700 € at my local dealer, cheaper than Thomann. Yeah, it's worth serious instantly. And for the skeptics, 15 watt all-tube, that's enough, even with a nag behind the drums. I rarely exceed noon volume (always with maximum gain noon), and it is impeccable. "

So of course I do it again this election!
