Tech 21 Tri-OD

This is a Sans Amp unit with 3 switchable modes, USA (Fender), California (Mesa Boogie) and British (Marshall). Useful for working direct into a PA system or recording console. Bought the unit locally at a music store for $200 US out the door. I was playing with a band where everyone was plugged directly into a PA and I needed something to do multiple channels and easy to carry.


The switching aspect of the unit is what sold me. It's like having three amps in one small box about the size of your average stomp box. The sounds are very realistic, particularly the Fender clean sound. It acts just like a real amp, dropping off gain as you roll down the volume on your guitar. Built like a rock, solidly constructed, and easy to use.


The battery is a pain to change due to having to remove four screws on the bottom of the unit. I picked up a power supply for it and my other effects which took care of that problem.


As I said earlier, it is a solid metal unit which will take any abuse that you can send to the unit. Great sounds. I got lots of positive comments on my sound using this unit.



This is an excellent unit. A must have if you are going direct into a PA or recording console.

This is a small pedals pramp modlisations which allows for the overdrive sounds of three types of amps (Fender [tweed], Mesa [Calif.], Marshall [british]).

A metal case unbreakable, a conventional 9V power (with the - in the middle) or a 9V battery to power it.

HP is a simulation of Submitted and disables it can be. Possibility of using the pedals as a direct box. (For cons, it is a bypass channel).

UTILIZATION

It is easy to use, one button to switch channels, an rglage gain and noise per channel, one master and two bands qualisation gnral.

You can play clean with bypassed one of the channels (0 to the volume on that channel).

The qualisation rpond well and is quite ais to find a sound that we like.

After ngatifs points:

-The obligation to Bypasser a channel to play clean. (Not too rarely used since Gnant modlisations 3 a piece).
-The qualisation common spares have t 3 qualisations smarter.
-Only two bands qualisation. It may be enough but does have 3 strips nicer.

The manual is simple though in English only. There are explanations for commands and rglages to prs to approach the sound of our idols. (Sounds kind AC / DC, Hendrix ...)

SOUND QUALITY

I play plutt of metal but I can play in other styles and by modliss amps, you get versatility.

The use of an amplifier transistor is gniale Global Warming because the pedals and boosts the sound. It is almost like playing on The models of origin. Amp lamps on the effect is less Submitted. I play on a Gibson Flying V and the combination is really great.

The sounds are close to trs MODELS original and are very natural (unlike a lot of multi-effects modlisations sounding synthetic trs). The rglages as simple, it happens quite easily find the sound of the guitar which is a fan and if we can not, the manual is l.

OVERALL OPINION

I use the pedals for 2 years and I never tire yet.

The quality of sound modliss is the highlight of the small number of MODEL rglages (corollary and its simplicity can be its main default.

Before a collgue me resell the pedals, I could test several multi-effects and none modlisations possde qulit the sound of the pedals, just a few links pedals base as a delay, and a rverb Wha Wha, we get a REALLY interresting pdalboard trs.

For the price of a multi-purpose low-end (130 for new pedals), there are modlisations of quality (in admittedly small number). Really great value qualitprix.

With a bit of experience, I made this choice, more, I would do without hsiter.

I was able to catch one last year, are rare these widgets.
Funny switches, which cycle the 3 presets loop, then 2 or more bypass presets, preset or more bypass. Confusing, but better than nothing.
The particularity of this is that without preset Triod activated, it switches to bypass mode equalizer / volume / speaker simulation, and it is very well seen mr Bartha. Very useful to fit any multi without a sound like a program on.

3 presets give california british tweed, volume and gain each basta. EQ 2 BDes common, not very practical in reality.

UTILIZATION

Oh, it's very easy to use despite the eccentricity of the switch.
The sounds are great, between the original and the SansAmp GT2, so quite relaxed and musical. I found the overall color in my tri ... ac! It is even obvious, hence the name I guess.
What is wrong is the common equalizer, this too for her and not enough that for another. This was predictable, but another time we must not forget.
To be frank, no pedal multi-channel non-programmable I never agreed (and womanizer damage control solid metal, HK tube factor, peavey dirty dog, and certainly I forget) so I do not blame the sorting -od, especially since ...

SOUND QUALITY

... It sounds great! Much better than the pedals mentioned, except for the solid metal excited.
It's amazing what Tech21 manages to do with an analog circuit with very low power consumption.
The sound is a treat british precision hot as the cleat only halfway, transparent and fully respectful of the game with him you understand what grades mean game.
The california is much fatter, I'm not using this kind of sound on my gt2 not either. You can make big sacred rhythm, but once you flashed the bin british one is too addicted to accept anything else!
The tweed is superb, whether plain or JohnnyWinter (SRV or for those who know not), very beautiful canal.
And the simplicity of the approach is valuable, bass / treble and that's it, it works.

OVERALL OPINION

It's cool to go to bypass a unique sound, no complications. To toggle the sound is not quite flexible but expected.
If you find one of okaz throw you over, but otherwise you end up rendering Triod in the triac. With a fabulous flexibility is the programmable bo!
Function remains the volume-leveling-independent simulation hp worth its weight in gold ...
