Electro-Harmonix Polychorus Mk2
The Electro-Harmonix Polychorus is an analog stereo chorus and flanger pedal designed for use with electric guitar, but certainly suitable with other electronic instruments. However, I've only used it with an electric guitar, so this review will be focused on this application, which is okay as this is the original intended use of the pedal anyway. The pedal's characteristics are very simple, with two 1/4" outputs and a single 1/4" input. It comes with it's own power supply, so you don't have to worry about finding the right power for it, and if I'm not mistaken it will only work with an Electro-Harmonix made one anyway (as is the case with any EH pedals). The pedal isn't rack mountable as it is a stomp box.

UTILIZATION

The configuration of the Electro-Harmonix Polychorus is generally pretty easy to follow, and at the same time the pedal allows you a very good amount of control over your tone. The pedal features a mode knob, which allows you to choose from four different modes, including chorus, flanger, double track, and a filter matrix. It then has knobs for width, rate, tune/delay, and feedback, in addition to a filter sweep button which can be turned on or off. That's pretty much all that you need to know, but if you feel you don't understand what the parameters do, it's probably a good idea to have the manual around anyway.

SOUND QUALITY

The different tones possible with the Electro-Harmonix Polychorus is certainly where the pedal makes it's money. Like just about every Electro-Harmonix pedal I've used, it boasts a very clean sound quality that is versatile across the board. I've used the pedal in the studio with a Fender Telecaster and a Fender Blues Jr. amplifier, miking the amp with a Shure SM57. While the chorus tones are definitely where it's at on the Polychorus, the other modes are awesome to have, as the flanging tones are very respectable to say the least. I also really like the double track mode which allows for some more subtle, but very interesting effects as well. In general, the Polychorus has a very clean tone without any added noise.

OVERALL OPINION

The Electro-Harmonix Polychorus is definitely one of the most complete chorus/modulation pedals out there that I've used. I'm a huge advocate for pedals made by Electro-Harmonix, as I love their vintage look and sound in our modern context. While not the cheapest chorus pedal available out there, if you're someone who uses chorus and other modulation effects a good deal and want something that will give you versatility, look no further than the Polychorus pedal.

Electro-Harmonix Polychorus Mk2
Rdition the old Polychorus, agrment a possibility to use stereo, the pots have changed their places too ...
PDAL chorus / flanger / echo / filter. 5 pots to adjust ... Is complete.
Walking on a power supply 'SPECIFICATIONS came with.
It takes a lot of space in a pedalboard!

UTILIZATION

It should be used for quite some time to get the connatre. Each of the four modes SPECIFICATIONS uses the pots, and then they can use a filter "Filter Sweep" above all a. What fun for hours ...
The manual is succinct plutt ... An explanation of the function of each knob / switch and a few examples, all interspersed with a few jokes.
Once we figured out how to walk, roll itself!

SOUND QUALITY

The Flanger Filter Matrix is a "manual". That means to use it must be down and turn the knob hand ... Useless, yes, a must be a. Finally, may still give color to the sound particulire ...
The Flange plutt is effective but not intrusive even when organic is not the function I use most.
The Chorus ... L There's something to be served. Trslger a chorus of detune espce monstrous, makes a perfect arpges on ... Or a distorted solo with Rate good up in the kind of thing crazy! With a, we can also agrmenter the chorus of a short echo trs, to better shape the sound ...
The "Double Track" is exactly the same as the Chorus, but it ... This means that more than the echo. It might be nice for ambient passages, and like a lot to trs short delays found in the first album of The Mars Volta, but I do not know if was just the Polychorus or Deluxe Memory Man Omar Rodriguez-Lopez ...
The Sweep Filter allows to smooth the sound and especially the function Detune, for chorus a 'softer'.
Last thing ... When one cares feedback to the max, the machine goes into overdrive and chorus and flanger mode, you end up with a monstrous Sirna which can modulate the pitch of the note with the Tune / Delay. To block in the "minute CARNAGE end concert" is excellent!
PDAL super complte.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than three months. I love this pedals ... Super versatile. Although sr, it was in the chorus it excels, but all other functions can be useful trs, you know what to draw ...
APRS, if you just want a chorus to color your sound lgrement, better look elsewhere. Here's all or nothing ... Above that price, it would be box of regret.
Before you have it, I dive a few choruses of multi-effects, c'tait not joy but could suffice. I function because I'm a big fan of the brand, I think that we can be if we know of in which you walk ...
The report is not qualitprix top, but c'tait a gift, so good. Bought in Germany, made a little lower the note!
If mine blew up, I do not see too much by what I could replace it ... For now he has a place in my pedalboard, and it budge for a while before I think ... I might even be his little ERRF to add to it, the Small Clone, for use exclusively for noise or psychdelique ... To be continued!

Electro-Harmonix Polychorus Mk2
Analog Chorus

there is a choice between
chorus
flanger
double track (or echo delay)
filter matrix and
not any analog or preset memory
24V power supply not careful Garland

UTILIZATION

The Manual:::: ben a simple A5 sheet written in English small
6 with examples and a clear enough description of the beast

slight but sufficient limits, no brainer you turn the knobs and listening point bar
(For me making music is playing, not spend hours digesting the instructions of a multi purpose)

SOUND QUALITY

For its there we enter the subjective but basically
friends of the boss / ibanez go your way this is anything but cold and mechanical sound is incredibly warm and organic that is living matter c't ca quarter turn reacts to the slightest change in volume or micro causes a reaction Reminds me of my tube amps

must try it before you buy it for it is but it really typed BBOOONNNN

OVERALL OPINION

I have been one week, I 'utlise in addition to a Rocktron Deep Blue is just the opposite (discrete, subtle and a little cold)
all in an AC30 and an old blackface Fender.
Surpenant pus that is the ability to respond to the guitar, the Les Paul I practically saturate (though saturation) whereas a colder spring telecaster

never heard this sound in organic competition, the only one that seemed as exciting was a TC Electronic SCF but in a very different color

Electro-Harmonix Polychorus Mk2
PDAL chorus / flanger analog.
Must connect the beast on a alim'24voltes!

UTILIZATION

Effects: matrix filter / flanger / chorus / double track
Should be tested more thing to find the sound, but when I put even 10: P
The manual just to help beginners but ...

SOUND QUALITY

So it's simple, ripped! Sounds are dmentiel, small chorus in the lightweight type of patient feedback intro to "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" by Nirvana!
It's more analog, jme'm doing poo in my pants when I heard what it was worth (must be said that I had just heard a chorus Ibanez: CF7 Flanger is not the same level it!). PDAL This has a fucking sound! : D
I use a Fender Start with "black beauty" and a special edition Mexican lag RX100. It's a massacre in his clear, distortion ... It's still MIEU! : D Verse with a big muff or a ds 2, waaaaaaaaaahhhhh !!!!( imagine a SansAmp now;))
I use mainly for solos flanger, chorus with the feedback thoroughly for the parties "noisy" style Sonic Youth, and the double track, I would not know how to dcrire a, but with a clear sound line 6 spider 2 all rotten, Pete (now imagine my future hot rod deluxe ... hh;))
I do not dtest sounds, the chorus is also beautiful and if you push all the knobs has donf mode chorus, tremolo ba you got a crazy!
NOTHING is better now in this kind of sound is simple: D

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 1 week.
SOUND, I love the look too. Very practical and more.
Yes I have tried many and I declare it officially when PDAL CHORUS / FLANGER, there is NOTHING better now.
It CHRE (I bought OCCAZ has 115euros / a new 210), but worth it.
I refer this election without a single second hsiter! There is no better now on the market, worth ALUS, and then it just has not So EH be the stew!

Electro-Harmonix Polychorus Mk2
Pedal flanger / chorus stereo analog

4 modes:

- Filter matrix
- Flange
- Chorus
- Double track

jack input, 2 outputs for stereo

4 knobs: width / rate / delay-tune / feedback, their influence varies according to the method used

switch filter sweep: after what I understand, ca note a slight vibrato to the case, in any case it is!

UTILIZATION

Config not as simple as another chorus pedal, and for good reason, this pedal is unique

the edition of the sounds, and well just fiddle a bit and you soon realize what is happening!

the "manual" is shown a number of opportunities to jump start with the beast

SOUND QUALITY

Pff, the sound is insane

flange, and I was not expecting is the big attraction. Depending on the settings, switching from a slight chorus, a tremolo, a hp rotary or turbo jet effect. you see "Come As You Are" by Nirvana?

The chorus is a real chorus, it can control the number of echoes, the detune, speed ... it can approach a flanger or more subtly enhance the original sound

double track is a short delay, quite effective in stereo

the filter matrix is a flanger "manual", ca flange when you turn the knob

the sound is phenomenal, organic, warm. Chorus I tried and they envy you!

OVERALL OPINION

I for one week, and I'm on your ass! the possibilities of sound are numerous. is turned slightly and it changes the rate bcp!

in stereo ca beat up, I hate to have a second amp (for now I recycle my old H & K power amp and cabinet ...)

I tried the boss chorus type, or multi effects stuff disgusting. there, we do not play in the same category. after rack is probably better but it's anologique ...

I do it again this choice with eyes closed ... Once the pedal repaired, indeed bypass my show and I go to my regret having to send qques week in NY for the guarantee

210 euros is not given for a pedal, but if like me you're in love chorus analog sound ... I tried a versatile effect and versatile hot and Polychorus will become the basis of my sound. in the same category is the Boss CE-20, but it's more expensive, Electro-Harmonix, and then we are sure it is pure cam
