BBE Opto Stomp

One type of effect: it is a compressor. Format pedal, analog input and output connectors jack, 9V supply "standard" size Boss 9V center negative format). Solid metal housing, heavy and sturdy kind that inspires confidence.

UTILIZATION

Super easy to use, since a single dose knob compression ratio. I think (but I'm not sure) it sets the threshold, the other parameters of the compression (ratio, attack, release) being fixed.
The second knob controls the output volume to compensate for the effect of gain or loss of volume due to compression.

The small switch -15 db is supposed to adjust the input gain at low volume high output, but I let 0dB even with my low level of gross output and the machine does not move.

SOUND QUALITY

Super efficient, from subtle to very pronounced but while keeping a nice hyper transparency bass. No serious or excessive loss of color, it is typically due to be bought, rule 30 seconds and is then allowed on all the time without ever touching it.

OVERALL OPINION

It was my second or third compressor after disappointments in terms of inappropriate sound coloration. This one is super simple to set up (easier you die), and for at least 5 or 6 years that I have, it has never left my pedal board. Two settings, and a volume threshold (compression level)

UTILIZATION

No need for manual, adjusting the volume and assayed compression to get the desired sound.

SOUND QUALITY

Special use with my PB, this pedal is fully compliant with the sound of my bass, it provides no coloration. The setting is very gradual, allowing to easily find the desired compression. They range from a few very light compression to "pompous". Personally this is between 13h and 14h that I find most effective while remaining unobtrusive. The sound is more homogeneous, it is more definition and now I can attack without problem. Whatsoever on the finger, the mediator or slap it is super efficient.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a few weeks, already tried in repeats. Nothing to say that's exactly what I expected, this pedal allows for swift game while keeping the definition (it does not replace the mastery of his instrument).
I put him 10/10, knowing what I was looking like effect, there are compressor that colors the sound (EHX Black Finger) but I have my amp for that.
Only gripe (you need a well) the blinding blue LED.

Compression is very simple: volume, compression, and a switch for removing 10db for active instruments, for example.
It's digital, with the famous circuit in a pedal BBE rack.

UTILIZATION

Not very complicated to use, there are 2 knobs! We find very quickly the balance compression / volume and hop, go!

SOUND QUALITY

It is a very good compression, in my opinion, but I use it with a bass. It is very clear, no distortion or alteration of sound. I would have loved a combined limit, but that's a desire to bassist. It plays its role perfectly, no breath, no matter what the power supply (or battery (9V type boss).

OVERALL OPINION

I've had six months, it is 'on' time. I sent in a passive bass, which allows me to have an interesting signal in the other pedals behind (I boost my sound) in output rack in the entrance I 'active' on my amp, thanks it. Manufacturing is impeccable, it's tough. It is quite expensive but it holds up. In fact, it is the opinion on the rack at BBE equivalent that convinced me to buy it. To be objective, we should try to do that one of my guitar, whether it is as good with a guitar. Voila

2 knobs, one can not get any easier for those who are lost in the jungle of rglages compressor rack ...

SOUND QUALITY

I use it with passive basses (Fender Precision and Jazzbass), and this little fact pedals extremely good job. Trs transparent, it does not blow and do not stain at all the original sound ... quieter and efficient, the industry and it is played.

OVERALL OPINION

Good quality price (especially used), it has little direct competition of equivalents (for low anyway). Having hsit Multicomp with BSE (a little more 'complex' and more expensive), I do not regret my purchase at all ...
